Yea, that is how I do it, half up front when I make the reservation, and half two weeks prior to the date
I would require the 2nd payment before the 30 day cancellation period. Holding points suck!![]()
I am sitting at the gate for my flight back home...![]()

im staying at akl for the first time in sept, but staying in a standard view room, was wondering if its worth splurging for a savannah room or will i enjoy the hotel just as much with a standard, and also where are the standard view locations in the resort, are they close to the bus stops and main area?

First, congrats on your September reservation!![]()
It may be worth splurging. If the difference in cost is within your budget, I would upgrade. However, there's nothing wrong with a "standard view" or a "pool view" room. There are many animal viewing areas throughout the resort and you will still get the full experience of staying at AKL!
Standard view rooms are scattered throughout the resort. Yes, some are close to the lobby and buses. There are also some standards that have a partial view of the Savannah -- just not a good enough view to classify them "savannah view". If being close to the main area is important to you, you should request a room "near lobby" or "near pool". I'd be careful not to request a room "near buses" because there are a couple rooms that I would not want! (You will walk past those rooms on your way to the bus stop!)
Be sure to check the Daily Activities Board and immerse yourself in all AKL has to offer.
Good Morning and Happy Weekend Js & Ks!![]()

Quick CL Question:
Does the AKL CL lounge now serve hard-boiled eggs at breakfast like some of the other resorts are doing?
