...some pix that I got on the internet...
Thanks kimmar!! Boma looks awesome! ;)

Oh man... that all looks so delicious! I think I am officially off buffets though... went to breakfast this morning and was completely stuffed on half a plate... my husband thought I must not have liked it but I was bursting at the seams! I would only get a little scoop of one of those curries and be DONE, lol!

Brandi - :( Hope your relationship with your brother can be resurrected without a request for money on a regular basis.

Thanks everyone! I'll be sure to scout out a backup resort just in case.

I'm going through David's DVC Rental and he requires payment in full up front. I thought about going with a private rental but I'm too nervous to do that my first time renting points.

im staying at akl for the first time in sept, but staying in a standard view room, was wondering if its worth splurging for a savannah room or will i enjoy the hotel just as much with a standard, and also where are the standard view locations in the resort, are they close to the bus stops and main area?

First, congrats on your September reservation! :woohoo:

It may be worth splurging. If the difference in cost is within your budget, I would upgrade. However, there's nothing wrong with a "standard view" or a "pool view" room. :goodvibes There are many animal viewing areas throughout the resort and you will still get the full experience of staying at AKL! :cloud9:

Standard view rooms are scattered throughout the resort. Yes, some are close to the lobby and buses. There are also some standards that have a partial view of the Savannah -- just not a good enough view to classify them "savannah view". If being close to the main area is important to you, you should request a room "near lobby" or "near pool". I'd be careful not to request a room "near buses" because there are a couple rooms that I would not want! (You will walk past those rooms on your way to the bus stop!)

Be sure to check the Daily Activities Board and immerse yourself in all AKL has to offer. :thumbsup2

Good Morning and Happy Weekend Js & Ks! :wave2:

Alison, it is true I missed my bed.... :)

I second everything Laura said here. You will have a wonderful time no matter where you are. Be sure to relax and enjoy yourself.

Next week at this time, guess where I'll be? :rolleyes1

OK, so I won't be staying at AKL (Dolphin this time), but DD and I have a Boma dinner reservation Friday (5/11). :cloud9:

Part of the allure of AKL is the savannah, so if it is in your budget I would say go for it. That being said we have done Pool view several times and been very happy with that too, there are lots of places where you can see the animals.

Whatever you decide, I am sure you will enjoy AKL. Take some time and just enjoy the resort.

Quick CL Question:

Does the AKL CL lounge now serve hard-boiled eggs at breakfast like some of the other resorts are doing?

I don't think so. Some people have been there more recently than I have so perhaps it's changed.
