ok so i upgraded to a pool view cant afford savannah view, what area of the resort will it be and is it close to the lobby and bus stop? also what are some good things for kids to do there and some not miss things to to do?

Thank you everyone another coworker told me since I don't have Facebook. That would have been really really mean if they knew I would see it. I wish they hadn't told me because it just really hurt my feelings.

Request 3rd floor if you want to be on lobby level. The bus stop is at the bottom of the picture -- where it says "Walt Disney World Bus Transportation". If you look at Giraffe Trail, the rooms that are on one side will be pool view; the rooms on the other side are standard view and include those 2 rooms I mentioned in my earlier post. (the rooms I would never want to be in!! )


There are lots and lots of activities for the kids. Some examples:

Pin Trading with "King Pin" (Zawadi Marketplace)
Music of the Savanna (Jambo Sunset Lounge) - bead activity (kids 4 & up earn a bead)

Cultural Safari (Jambo Sunset Lounge)
Drum Cafe (Kidani Palace Library)
"Primal Parade" (Zawadi Marketplace - kids parade through Jambo lobby )
Meet a Savanna Guide (at both Jambo & Kidani)
African Wonders (Kidani - Pembe Overlook) - bead activity
Flamingo Activity (Jambo Flamingo Pond) - bead activity
Animal Tracking (Jambo Arusha Rock) - bead activity
Animal Enrichment (Jambo Asante Lobby Terrace and Kidani Lobby) - bead activity
Bio Blocks (Kidani Palace Library) - bead activity
Have You Heard? (Kidani Pembe Overlook) - bead activity

There are also Poolside Activities at both Jambo and Kidani: games, trivia, a pool party, campfire, movies by the pool.


You will be given an Activities sheet at check-in. Also, be sure to check the "Activities Board" daily -- by Bell Services and near Boma at Jambo House.

Does the AKL CL lounge now serve hard-boiled eggs at breakfast like some of the other resorts are doing?

I've never seen hard-boiled eggs at AKL either, but we do get the quinoa that none of the other CLs have!

Thanks for the updated info! Someone was asking on another thread and I was hoping that they would have them. Not a deal breaker for us, though. We absolutely love AKL.

Thank -- ooh! I forgot about the quinoa! Last time we were there AKL was the only CL that even had oatmeal! We love the food up in the lounge, although I just read on another thread that the appetizers are a shadow of what they used to be. I'm not trying to make a dinner out of it (because we can't stand to miss out on Boma or Jiko), but the way that AKL had such unique food items (even the olives and cold veggies were very different from YC/BC/GF/Poly) really made it extra special for us. I guess I'll find out soon enough!

The funny thing is after my orientation I'll be the supervisor of these people, so you'd think they'd want to be nice to me.... I went out to dinner and am feeling less glum about the whole thing. I'm sure it will continue, I just hope I don't hear about it.
