Convinced the family to try Boma!!! Wahoooooo

Yay! We love Boma!!! The variety is so great, the chefs are super nice and you can't beat the AKL atmosphere!

Just thought I would pop in and let you all know how much we are LOVING our first stay at AKL! It is just a beautiful resort. And this may sound odd, but I love love love the way the resort smells!! It is so nice to walk in to the lobby after a busy day. I know some have mentioned finding it dark but we just find the lighting ambient and peaceful. I could absolutely see us coming back here.
Today dd and I took a morning to just hang out at the resort. We swam for awhile and then walked behind the pool to look at the savannah. Found a lovely little hot tub and relaxed there for awhile. It was just a perfect day.
I can absolutely see why so many love it here!!!

It doesn't sound odd! It does have a great little aroma...the whole package of the resort...sights, sounds, smells...it's perfect!!


I'm trying to convince DH to add a day onto our stay. We're going aug 26-31 but I want a big chunk of a day where we can just hang out at AKL but when we take a shorter trip, I like to make sure we have a lot of time at the parks.

Here's a question for you AKL lovers...what are your thoughts on Jambo vs. Kidani? I know it's all a matter of preference of course. I've actually never been to Kidani, I'd like to head over for a bit and check things out when we're there. I've only seen pictures of Kidani so at this point I don't feel like I can definitely say I prefer one over the other.

Speaking of pictures, keep 'em coming! I'm always mentally at Animal Kingdom and the pictures certainly help that!!

I'm just popping in because I'm excited: 3 weeks until our first stay at Kidani Village! In 2010 we stayed at Jambo House, but only for a night. (It was the night before my now-husband proposed and he told me later on he wasn't able to enjoy it because he was so nervous. ) We're only there for three nights, but I am hoping we have some time to enjoy the resort.

Just switched from BC CL to AKL Jambo House one bedroom villa savanna view. We will be there June 16th for 7 nights.

We love the AKL, but this is our first time in a Villa, we are really looking forward to it.

Yippee! Just changed our resort from PoP (which we do love) to AKL for the 1st Star Wars Weekend in June. We stayed at AKL for the first time this New Years and really liked it, so decided to go back this trip. The AP discounts didn't hurt either.

Is it me, or do the Savanna view "villa" rooms in Jambo run les than the standard lodge rooms? Or is it just that the AP discount is bigger on them?

Either way, really looking forward to it, and a chance to use the pool when it's actually warm outside!

Awesome news!!! The villas are usually more expensive than the standard rooms, so I think you got a pretty good discount. It is so wonderful to sit by the pool and soak in the warmth. I've actually never gotten in the pool, can't get myself off the lounge chair... Congratulations on your switch!
