So, there were special fireworks that night, but it seems to me there were heavy storms that evening and I believe it was delayed 30 or 40 minutes.

Also, to Ann and anyone else who may be going October 1st -- Get your guidemaps before you enter the park! Best to have 2 of you ready to head to the merchandise immediately! One for the pins line; one at Mouse Gear. I will still be at home dreaming of my trip the following week! :thumbsup2

Brandi, I have gotten the pins at the gift shops at DVC resorts. You have to ask! ;)

I get my DVC pins at the big pin stations in each park.

Ok something else the newbie doesn't have a clue about...we should be asking for special DVC pins? Best to do it at the resorts? And why is it so hard to get to the pin stations at the parks? Oh my I have sooo much to learn!:surfweb:

The only time it's hard to get to the pin stations would be during a special event, such as Epcot's 30th (or most recently, MK's 40th).

At the DVC resorts, in shops where DVC merchandise is sold - ask at the register. They don't put the pins out on display, but they usually have some for sale in the drawer by the cash register. :thumbsup2

ooo good to know! but the resorts have special DVC pins you won't find on boards, too? We will be there in Dec for Christmas so I don't suspect it being at a time of special event, or are there any in Dec? We are there Dec 15-27.

No special events unless you're at MVMCP -- they have pins for the Christmas Party at MK and the line can get long in the shop on Main Street!

You should also ask at the pin stations if they have any DVC member pins. They are usually not out on display and you might need to "prove" you are DVC to buy them so make sure you have your member card along. ;)

Cool, I will have to remember that next time.

I might check next time I'm at WDW just to make sure! It's been a couple years and we all know how nothing ever stays the same! :rotfl:

I'm still trying to sneak in a weekend in May! ;)

Laura that Figment is too cute! Thanks for the history. I'd love to go for an anniversary but it sounds too hectic for me with all the crowds.

:cloud9:

Congrats, Mimi Wendy!!! She is beautiful!

I concur with the difficulty in getting on the DIS today. But it has been that way for a couple of days for me. :(

Congratulations Wendy! She is just beautiful!

When you say next fall, do you mean 2012 or 2013? The Wonder is unfortunately leaving the West Coast in December and heading for Miami. She is still coming back during the summer for the Alaska season out of Vancouver, but there will be no Mexican Riviera cruises on the Wonder after December 9th of this year as far as I can see. We still have not booked a cruise for November and we are starting to Wonder if we should not just book one last Mexican Riviera cruise.

Corinna

We're talking about six months from now. I saw that they were discontinuing the MR cruises after this year so that's the urgency to take one. We were thinking of the one that leaves on the 18th because we have no family to spend Thanksgiving with. However, it is priced much higher than other weeks of the month and doesn't work well with our schedule now that I think about it more in depth.

We still can not book for sure yet. We need to have the money in the bank first! :rotfl:

Congrats Mimi! What a sweetie and such a head of hair!
