I'd say they're average numbers. I didn't see anywhere in what you posted that said you had to give them all, just if you did give, these were the numbers people usually use.
Although I'd think people spend a little more on the shower. Course I haven't had mine yet haha. We didn't have any engagement announcement - I got "congratulations" haha. And for my bachelorette? People give gifts for that?? I would think just drinks and the party supplies.... That's all I've ever heard of anyway.
I know many people will be spending a lot less on my gifts, and the rest will likely be in that range. My friends are all just graduating (some grad school, some college) or are still in college, or only have like a year or two max of working. My extended family's large and by no means wealthy. We are spending way more on the wedding (and it's really not that much!) than DF and I will receive in gifts. I'm just glad to be celebrating with them!
