to celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Granted, I live near a college town and MSU is playing today, as well, but jeez!

For the last few days, I've been hearing all these radio ads about pub crawls starting at 7:00 a.m. They were talking about people lining up outside the bars even earlier than that.

I'm actually a little nervous about driving home at 4:00. It feels like New Year's Eve and I don't leave the house that day. I guess I'm getting old but getting drunk in the morning just has no appeal to me anymore...not that it really ever did.

7 am is really, really early. This coming from Vettechick "a-mimosa-at-9-am-never-hurt-anyone". ;)

I'd be worried, too. Just be a good defensive driver today and let's hope the drunks hail a cab!

You've not been to Chicago on St Patrick's day I would guess :teeth:

As we have found out the hard way...you are not suppose to get on the floats that are on the parade route passing by ;) (okay my friends did)

Actually here it feels like its celebrated all week. And don't we get some kind of donut tomorrow? Patzci or something

I hate driving today to, but its my Mom's birthday, be careful!

Thankfully, most of the drunks in Manhattan don't have to drive.

It was already getting interesting on the way in to work today.

Have you not been to Ireland? :shamrock: :drinking1
My Irish ex husband would enjoy his St Patricks day for 24 hours drinking!

uh...well - the college students at the college my sons graduated from drink in the AM before the graduation ceremony - and the ceremony always starts at 9AM! I imagine that St.Patrick's Day will be much the same - thankfully, both of my sons are graduated and gainfully employed! (and working today!)

Can't say that I approve of morning drinking - just stay out of your cars if you do!!

in college, I don't think I would think that's early...but now I couldn't imagine...

Isn't it fun living/working near MSU on days like this???? I plan to stay far away from campus this weekend.

We were on campus attending a hockey game the night U of M came to play basketball in February. We couldn't decide if it would be better for MSU to win or lose...either way the kids would be drinking!

Forget St Pat's, I have family members that regularly start drinking at 7am.

lol, back in the college days that was sometimes what time I stopped drinking. :rotfl: But now, I could never carry on like that or START at that time.

Are you talking about paczki? My favorite thing--a pastry that weighs about a pound! Those are actually from Fat Tuesday--if you can find one tomorrow--snag it!

7am ???? That's just crazy :teeth: OK, there have been occassions :thumbsup2

even if you are standing by the time zone sign in the desert?????
:rotfl2: :lmao:

My husband works for Guinness and is in downtown Boston today. He called a little while ago and said the lines to get into places are insane...sounds like nobody is working today. lol. They actually can't start pouring in Boston until 8am, but once that hour hits, watch out.

Personally there is no way I could have a beer at 8am...but then, I'd have no problem with a mimosa. lol.

Be safe out there, for all of you who are heading out or just even the few who are working around big party areas. Thankfully dh has a limo so I don't have to worry about him driving...I just have to worry about everyone else driving.

Oops wrong drinking day! My Bad.

But yes that is it!

The morning show DJ's from the radio station I listen to here did a live remote this morning, and by about 9:00am two of the three were feeling no pain. THey did reiterate more than a few times that they had a designated driver, and asked people to drink responsibly. It's DS birthday and we're going to Jiko for dinner, I hope the drunks are all passed out before we go home. It's bad enough dodging sober stupid tourist tricks, but worse when their half in the bag...
