Hi Judith,

I know we were waiting for one other person to submit the info but, not to sound grumpy, I need to get moving on these FE gifts.

Can you send the list so that I know who is in what cabin, etc.? I am starting to freak out that we leave for Europe in 2 weeks (doing extra time in Spain) and I haven't started on the gifts. We are packing up for 3 weeks so the early I start planning/packing the better.

Can you email me it back so I know you have received it - it keeps bouncing back from one of your emails so I am worried not all of you will have got it - will you let me know?

I have assigned everyone a day - I will share it with you via email.

I've only done this FE exchange once before so I don't have much to compare with. Last year I put wee note cards in with my gifts and did label them accordingly but most of what we got had nothing attached and I was only given stateroom numbers and guests names, ages etc, not which particular day to give, consequently I had no idea who most of our goodies came from and I feel it would have been good to know this.

That said, if people are running out of time labelling will not be totally essential as we will all know from the list what days people are exchanging and with the exception of Thursday there is only one family giving out gifts each day.

What does everyone else feel? I don't want to be setting the rules - everyone should be happy with what is agreed.

I am more than happy to label mine - I was going to as some of the gifts are for the children, some adults etc. so thought it would be easier. Although some smaller bits might not be labelled. I organised the main part of my gift yesterday so very excited now!

Roberta - London was really rainy yesterday, but it quite mixed at the moment. The actual temperature is not too low, just the weather is not great! I hope it is nice when you are here! Barcelona should be a lot hotter!

UK weather can be a mixed bag. You can expect anything from rain to brilliant sunshine in the space of a day. Recent forecasts have said to expect rain for the next few weeks at least. Having said that, expect the weather to be anywhere from the mid 60s up to mid 70s during your trip. As for the rest of Europe, Spain and Italy will easily be in the 80s with France a few degrees cooler. To me that is perfect weather but still might be a bit cooler for you. Hope that all helps.

Hi Heather - mum is in a stateroom two doors down from ours! I didn't bother to get her a Fish Extender - the one I got for the girls and I has just pockets for us! She'll not be expecting anything - I'm pretty sure the girls have explained the whole gift exchange to her but I don't recall that I have mentioned it to her! I wouldn't be in the least bit worried about getting something for her, honestly I wouldn't.

The last of the goodies I had ordered came in the post today so I am all excited about sorting it all out by stateroom. Haven't got as far as wrapping and labelling it yet - I probably wont do that until closer to the time we leave.

What with your time in England with your extended family you haven't long to wait now....... We have been having particularly lousy weather for July - I hope it picks up for you guys. I can't wait to get to the Med to get a bit of heat. I guess like yourselves, we are not blessed with the warmest of summers!!

I love that the thread is getting more posts - its great to read about others joining us. I am taking it the cruise is sold out.

Ohh California weather - I am soo jealous. It's hot here today -- upper 80s -- but generally it's been a cool summer for us. We live in the San Francisco area and visit Napa often, it's a truly lovely place, I hope your boss enjoyed her trip, Jude!

Caroline and Adam, thanks much for the weather tips. It virtually never rains here in the summer, so we'd probably have neglected to bring any rain gear! But 70s and 80s in the Med sounds ideal...

OMG I am getting SOOOOO excited!!! Only 16 days!!!!! I cancelled the couples massage as we cannot use the vat and it'll just be too much money, but I don't even care because I'm so excited! I can barely contain my excitement, anyone else?!

My last few things are done.

I called yesterday and ordered our stateroom gifts.....

When I called a couple of weeks ago there was no VAT added....but they were out of beer mugs. So I waited....I shouldn't have.

They now add VAT to the stateroom gifts (except Shutters?)

Also the beer mug price went up from $14.95 to $17.20 and with the VAT it is now $20.30...that's almost 40% increase in 2 weeks.

Anyway, the increase made me shorten my list of purchases....I picked up 2 Beer mugs, a birthday box and a shutters pckg. It will be interesting to see if the Shutter prices on the boat will have VAT added on top or not.

Also, I picked up my passport....I am once again legal to travel!
