and I promise, not a word about Bristol!

Throughout the election season you have had many complaints about Barack Obama aside from the normal Dem/Rep ideological differences. They are:

lack of experience
lack of foreign policy experience
no command experience
using undue influence
using position for financial gain

Now, each and every one of those arguments can be said about Sarah Palin. As someone who, in John McCain's own words, "...needs to be ready to lead from day one..." why do you excuse/forgive her and lambast him?

BREAKING NEWS: Sarah Palin NOT nominated for President.

Exactly!!! Also, the only thing I agree with on the OP's list is that she doesn't have foreign policy experience.

1. Very true, however, John McCain is 72 with a long list of health issues. There is a very real possibility that the VP would need to step in. Again, McCain himself has stated that the VP needs to be as qualified as the Presidential Candidate

2. You didn't answer the question, only made a snide reamark. Can you state a reason/s why it is ok for Palin and not Obama?

So you disagree with the other statements? All of them are easily proven if you want me to expand on each item I will.

BECAUSE PALIN IS NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT.

Did you catch it that time?

The last two what are your using to base your charges on.

She has budgetary Experience. She has Executive Experience running a State. She has Energy Experience.

Being in the Senate for 3 1/2 Years and Running for President for 1 1/2 of them does not give Obama the experience you are looking for. Also by missing 30% of the votes and 50% of the committe meetings really gives him such an edge. Oh yes we must include those present votes also.

I, on the other hand, I can find documentation to the contrary. I can also find documentation on BO's lack of experience, among other things. As citizens, it is our individual responsibility to research the candidates on our own, and then vote for whom we think best meets our needs and that of the needs of the country.

I'd like to address the age issue. Ever heard of genes? How old is John McCain's mother? Did you see her at the RNC last night? She looks great and amazingly healthy. Where are BO's parents? Oh, that's right, they died young, didn't they? That's a shame. Hope BO's taking care of himself, and getting regular check-ups. Wouldn't want to follow in the folks' footsteps there, if I were him.

By the last two, do you mean these?
using undue influence
using position for financial gain

OK, as to undue unfluence, she tried to get her BIL fired from his position by improperly using her influence. She also tried to have the librarian of Wasilla fired for "not supporting the mayor" when she wouldn't help Palin ban certain books. (look at the article in Time.com )

Financial gain? She first supported the "Bridge to Nowhere" but when the political backlash started, changed her tune. However, she kept the Federal money which could have been used to rebuild New Orleans. She also secured 27 million dollars in earmarks for her tiny town.

All of this is well established, and not by "desparate Dems" ...lol

And by saying "She is not running for Pres" you are still not addressing why it is ok? Should we hold her to a lower standard?

What's his "long list of health issues" that is threatening his life right now? His health issues are related to his injuries sustained as a captive for five years and affect his mobility.

Totally agree with this - to me age has nothing to do with it.

1. McCain's 96 year old mother has passed along good genes. I am honestly not worried that he is going to croak while being sworn in.

2. You have your definition of experience and I have mine. I was very amused last night when one of Obama's own staffers stated to Great Van Susteren that he was qualified because he has been on the campaign trail for 18 months. WHAT???:scared: Sarah Palin has been the governor of a key energy state. She has not only governed, she has governed well (based on approval ratings, government reform, and putting the state in the black). She has command experience. I do agree she is lacking in foreign policy experience, but since she is the VP nominee that is not an issue for me at this point.

Frankly, I think she is a darn good business woman, leader, and politician. She has been an agent for change not just a mouthpiece espousing change.

Obama has chosen to use his time as a Senator to run for President. If he were serious about change, why hasn't he been fight for it with every fiber of his being. If he can't stand Bush politics, why has he chosen to vote for him 80% of the time. I personally find the man to be very charming and charismatic, and I think he is a fine person, but frankly, I think he is all talk and no action. I need action. I am tired of the same old, same old. He is promising stuff that he cannot deliver just like every other professional politician out there. It is enough to make me want to scream from frustration.

Wow, I must have drank bitter this morning for breakfast!:rotfl: Sorry for the tangent.

See still you won't answer the questions. I am trying to get a feel for her but instead you all make statements about Obama instead.

As to the age issue, to me it is more the fact that John McCain has had cancer Stage IIa cancer so survival is an issue. And no, Obama does not smoke anymore.

I've never cited "lack of experience" as a reason for not supporting Obama. His socialistic tendancies make him a no go for me. He's to the left of Ted Kennedy.

Very well put. :thumbsup2

/QUOTE]

Obama----100% chance of being President if elected

Palin---- 0-50%(obvious guess) chance of being President if elected

So we have a sure chance of an inexperienced President if Obama is elected, but its up in the air if Palin is elected.

We blast Obama, but give Palin a chance, because an experienced VP is less important than an experienced President.
Also, many of us believe that while she has relatively little experience, she still has more experience than Obama.

If you read what I wrote, you will see I was comparing the two, you know sorta like what you were asking people to do in your original post. ;)
