Serious need to rant b4 I flip

Gosh thanks all for the support - the min thing I get out of this thread is that we all face the same challenges with our little cherubs. We have always said that ds is worse when he is sickening fro something but thisi s laughed at by proffesionals we deal with so I was interested at the comment that acknowledged we may be right.
I did enquire as to how I was meant to speak to the teacher in the morning if there was ever an issue again and they told me to get there 20 mins early so they could findher get chance to talk and then still be on the playground for her class. Obviously I laughed at them that most mornings we arrive just on ime was working a small miracle and to get there 20 mins early on a good day wud be a challenge but on a bad day then it was impossible!!!
Ive dropped the issue for now as we have bigger fish to fry with ds cancer treatment being restarted so his meltdowns are now just all turning into 1 big huge meltdown that nver ends but hey for now we are going to just keep swimming and hope that the other 3 kids keep on swimming along side us.
Once again many thanks for the support x x x

I have issues and have found that my mother has even bigger problems. It is very hard to be the caregiver or parent of someone who has issues. Too often the caregiver or parent has their own issues. You are not alone in having them bad days. I find on bad days two things really help me, this board and chocolates.

I send you prayers, chocolates, and hugs.
If you need to rant then rant away as I will hug you and send you warm fuzzy thoughts. Sorry but warm fuzzy slippers and chocolates do not fit through the monitor. :rolleyes1 If you want I will trade you 4 kids for my one 83 year old who has issues.  :cheer2: :grouphug:

I think it would be easier sometimes to keep a child home than fight with them about dressing and on and on- but if you keep your kid out too much-when iep time comes- the district will play it against you. I've been there.

Bottom line is kids are supposed to be in school and if a support person is going to be absent(we all get sick) backup needs to be in place-if the child can understand-a phone call to the house would be appropriate to "prepare" for the day. It's a tough situation.

And to the poster who called herself just a tutor- you are an important part of our child's education!

My daughter has multiple medical issues and missed over twenty days of school in first grade, all with a doctor's note. The district still threatened to take us to court for truancy. My response was "Bring it on!" They would've looked like fools. Last yet they fired her TSS, yet refused to provide an aide. I kept her home and had her doctor write a note saying she wouldn't be returning to school until an aide was in place, as the school had failed to provide for her safety in several situations. Upon receiving that letter they immediately provided an aide.
