some folks were saying there was an earthquake (I'm assuming in CA somewhere) so maybe that messed up some of the servers, bc i had two toons on and they both dc, and i have seen a lot say they were dc'd earlier, and it was all at the same time abouts.

I don't think so. The earthquake was 25 miles from me in northern california. Believe me, we felt it. Even the internet went out for awhile. I believe they are in southern california The disconnects happened and were resolved before the earthquake hit

the earth quake wasn't until around 8pm in Northern CA. If vmk really is in So Cal, then it probably didn't effect it, because I live in So Cal aswell and didn't feel a thing!
