Serenity Bay Cabanas - Buyer Beware

Just got back from our three night and everything was great except the cabana on Serenity Bay. I was assured by shoreside concierge that the two “new” cabanas were added at the end and no renumbering occurred. That wasn’t correct. There are no new cabanas. The two “new” numbered 22 and 23 are actually old massage cabanas. Unfortunately they are nowhere near the standard of the original 22-25.
Pros: slightly larger interior (which our cabana host pointed out since I’m sure people have been disappointed in the past). And a small sink left over from the massage days.
Cons: floors were beat up, smaller doors so not a great view from inside (and when it rains all day that’s were you spend your time) and terrible location. Didn’t feel secluded at all. People were right on top of you. Disappointing.

Thanks for the heads up. We're supposed to be in this Cabana next week. Do you have any photos you can share?

Weird, it showed up when I hit reply...ah, it must have been the same time you were modifying the post that said you didn't know how to do it.

Anyhow, you can attach a file by clicking "attach file" at the end of the post, before you post. Or you a free image hosting site (Flickr or IMGUR) and then copy & paste the link

Thanks so much. Does the cabana have the same amenities as the originals?

Thanks. I figured it out. For some reason it wasn’t working this morning. Worked the second time.

I thought 26 and 27 were the new ones? Your photos are from 22 or 23?

I managed to book cabana 26 with no prior cruises or concierge status, just happened to be scrolling through port adventures at the right time. We have a 5 year old and with Scuttle's Cove closed and Oceaneer Club being reservation-only, I'm questioning whether it is worth it. Would have to have 1 of the 3 adults on the family beach with the kid and switch out or try to find another family to work out a morning/afternoon arrangement. Definitely doesn't seem worth it if it's one of these converted massage shacks.

Yes so it really depends on how set in your ways you are. I know what I wanted and didn’t receive it. For $400+tax I think that’s fair. Others may never even notice.

My photo is specifically 22. 22 and 23 are the massage cabanas and everything else shifted two.
Old numbers: 22-25
New numbers: 24-27
And in my opinion the massage 22-23 cabanas are not worth the money as they’re a degraded experience.

Thanks for this. I have cabana 27 reserved on a cruise in October and was wondering where it was located. Sounds like 27 is the "old" 25, is that correct? If so, I'm happy with that since we've had 25 previously and it's at the end. So sorry it was a disappointment for you. Based on the picture I totally understand why.

Is that hammock for the cabana or is it an anyone hammock?

Other posters from cruises this past week have reported that Scuttle’s Cove IS open.

Post above says #22.
my question asking about the cabana # was specifically for the picture of the nicer open one, that's the picture I replied to
I realize and read the ones for the warnings #22

I think the "nicer, open one" is just a closer view out the door. Both are #22

Interesting...today I noticed open spa bookings for massages on castaway cay in the massage cabanas. This just appeared. I thought these had gone aways. Our sail date is Nov 6-11 Fantasy. It is double dip and lists this booking on both days.
