Hello,
I'm new to this board, this is my first post but I've been reading for a while.

We are planning a trip in September. How are the crowds then? Will we NEED FOTL passes by staying on site?

We're splitting our trip up with NASA, WDW and USF/IOA. So I'm wondering if the extra for the RP hotel is needed for September. We're looking at 2 days at USF/IOA. My DS is 7 and DD will be 6 then so they are tall enough to ride almost everything but Hulk and Dr. Doom.

I'm just trying to get a feel from folks that have been there if we should stay on site for the FOTL passes or if crowds at that time won't make it necessary.

We're on a tight budget so I'm trying to get the biggest bang for my buck.

Thanks in advance. This is a great site and I've really enjoyed everything I've been reading so far.

You shouldn't need FOTL if you go after Labor Day. After Labor Day, the crowds will be much lighter, and the weather will still be warm, so it is a great time to go. It is our favorite time of the year to go to Universal.

We have gone to Universal in early september 2001 and 2003 and crowds are very low, most everything was a walk on and I think we only used an Express Pass once on Spiderman last year...Have a great trip!!!

Mom's on a roll!! :p :p

You shouldn't need FOTL at all. I loved going in September because of the light crowds. :) And September is the best time of the year to attempt doing both parks in 2 days...especially with younger kids. With less crowds, you'll be able to enjoy the parks -- REALLY enjoy them, at a nice slow pace.

We are going at the end of Sept. also, for that very reason......... low crowds. We are staying at the RPR, we stayed there last aug. and fell in love with it. I would say that fotl is well worth it, especially during crowded times........... but staying onsite is the best regardless.

Maybe we'll see you there!!! :sunny:

Once school starts ..no lines. Hard Rock is great. To save money stay at Royal Pacific and use the Hard Rock's pool. Royal's pool is a great pool as well. But Royal is cheaper then the Rock to stay at.

I read this thread with interest, as we are also considering a Sept. trip. I'm always happy to hear about the low crowds. Just wondering about weekend days. I'm sure they are more crowded than weekdays, but how bad? Is the free Express pass sufficient to avoid waiting in long lines?

Weekends are busier than weekdays, but using the free express should help you out immensely.

Sometimes you'll get an express pass, only to find out there's no need because the line is so short. And that happens on weekends as well...
