Plan leaves at 7pm

We're going 9/24-10/4, and while I'm a Type A List maker, I've not made our "touring plan" yet.

However, we have an entire Excel worksheet devoted to planning the trip with possible ideas for dining and parks. When we get the PS for dining, I'll sit down and make out "THE PLAN" for which everyone I know teases me about (1 page per day with details for each day of the vacation). We aren't tied to it, but it helps a ton to make sure we each get to do the one thing we want to do.

Although, being a Mom of 2 boys I'm still having a hard time convincing them that Beauty and the Beast or CRT are GOOD!

How can you plan what parks on what days when you don't know the park hours or parade nights???

I am having such a hard time with this. I know Spectro will only be one or two nights/week but don't know which nights so I can't plan which night to be at MK pirate:

I am also having a hard time with our dinner times as I have no clue what time Fantasmic will be or Wishes :confused3

This is making me CRAZY

I don't think I can wait until JULY!!!

ARRRGHHH! I feel the same way!!! I just posted:

Does anyone else have trouble figuring out their PS's at 90 days out and not know the park hours until 60 days out...or is it just me!?!? :wave2:

Luckily, I am going in Sept, which is relatively slow, so I can usually book what I want when the hours come out... :earboy2:

How do I know if I want to do Chef Mickey on Monday at 7pm if I don't know if the park is still open or if spectro is running or.....

on another thread!!! I am glad that I am not the only one going nuts!

This is our tentative itinerary for 9/2-9/6 so far:

Those attending will be Dh31, myself27 and Dd2.5. Keep in mind that since I will be about 7.5 mos pregnant, this will be a very relaxing and slow paced trip for us. Dh is not even planning on riding the big thrill rides by himself b/c "it's not as much fun" without me.

Fri 9/2 ~ arrive at MCO around 12:30 take DME to POP and either go to DTD or swimming at Pop. Dinner at Chef Mickeys at 6:00 and depending on if Wishes is going that night, hang out and watch them at CR.

Sat ~ MGM in the am, back to Pop for rest/swim, back to MGM for dinner at 50's PT and finish any ride or shows.

Sun ~ 8:00 breakfast at CRT and MK until we are finished or are just too tired. Back to POP for rest and swim. Possibly going back to see Spectro and Wishes, but will most likely end up at DTD for dinner at Earl of Sandwich.

Mon ~ BB or TL for the morning. Back to POP for a rest. Then on to either Whispering Canyon Cafe or Ohana's (can't decide which yet) and hang out at those resorts until we're tired.

Tues ~ have to catch DME around 11:00 so we'll just sleep in (if Dd lets us :) ) and hang out at Pop until it's time to leave.

We might switch the water park and MGM days around, but I'm not sure yet. Can't wait to go!!

EDIT: Yay, my 100st post ;)

Since we're with my mil for those days, I am not planning to do the early morning EMH. I was just trying to choose a different park and it happened to be the evening one. I hope that works. We haven't been to WDW since they started the EMH in the evening.

I would like to do the EMH in the evening, but since we don't yet know all of the hours and parade/fireworks schedules, my evening parks may have to be switched. I can easily keep my morning for one day and swap my afternoon/evening itineraries for another day. I do that all of the time.

This should be post 599 for me. :teeth:

We will be arriving on September 4th after a long drive from PA. We will be staying in a hotel outside of the park area that night. We will probably eat near Downtown Disney that night. We can check in for our paclage at 8am on the 5th. Our package included 5 nights, 5 days of the meal plan, and 6 park tickets (no hoppers). Here is how I am hoping it works, it all depends on the park hours and PS!!

Monday: MK Dinner at the Crystal Palace with Pooh
Tuesday: MGM Dinner at Hollywood and Vines
Wednesday: MK Breakfast at Ohana at the Poly Resort
Thursday: Epcot Dinner at the Garden Grill
Friday: MK Dinner at Chef Mickey
Saturday: AK and leave seomtime that afternoon for home.

It is our first trip with the kids (3 year old and one turning 2 during our trip.) I hope to do several character meals so we don't have to worry abput tracking characters down. Let me know what you think!

NCMOMOF2 - We too will be going with a 3 year old (just turned at end of May) and an almost 2 year old (will turn about 3 weeks after our return). I'm planning on PS'ing 3 different character meals so that we won't have to do the tracking either! Although I don't really have to worry about that for my kids - we took them just for one day to MK in November when we were there for a wedding and the 1 year old screamed any time a character came near her. So I'm not really expecting too many 'cute kid hugging Mickey' moments. :) I'm trying to be realistic. I'm just happy to get a few pictures for the scrapbook page.

Here's our plan:
Arrive from Roch about 12:30pm on 9/14 - and use ME to get to POP. Play evening by ear based on kids' travel dispositions.
Thurs- AK all morning. Breakfast at Donald's Breakfastosaurus
Fri - MK morning - back to POP for naps - MK evening. Dinner with Chip n Dale.
Sat - Epcot in morning. Swim/nap in afternoon
Sun - Resort hop in morning - Chef Mickey at 11:15 - MK in afternoon/evening
Mon - MGM in morning - lunch at MGM - back to hotel to catch ME to airport for 5:45 pm flight.

OK, finally figured out an itinerary that I'm happy with (took me about 4 tries to get it right). I realize I'll probably have to change it again with the hours and EMH schedule is released.....

Thursday 9/15
Afternoon: Magic Kingdom
Dinner: Kona Cafe (just made my adr today!! yea!!)
Evening: Wishes at 9:00 p.m. (?)

Friday 9/16
Morning: Animal Kingdom
Afternoon: MGM
Dinner: Sci-Fi Diner
Evening: Fantasmic at 8:30 p.m. (?)

Saturday 9/17
Morning: Pool (or a park for a couple of hours if the kids are up and rearing to go...)
Afternoon: Pool
Dinner: Ohanas
Evening: Epcot & Illuminations at 9:00 p.m.

Sunday 9/18
Morning: Epcot
Afternoon: Epcot
Dinner: Le Cellier
Evening: MGM for EMH (?)

Monday 9/19
Morning: MGM
Lunch: Coral Reef
Afternoon: 3:00 p.m. head back to resort
Evening: 7:50 p.m. flight back home

Hopefully, the September hours won't mess me up too much!!

Me and two best friends arriving on September 13 for a week celebrating my 24th birthday:

Sep. 13th

Arrive SUPER early at MCO from Louisville, find bus, head to hotel

Illuminations
sleep

Sep. 14th

Sleep late
Breakfast at Concourse Steakhouse (Sticky Mickeys!)
MK
Counter Service dinner (or maybe at that restauraunt right inside the front gates- I know ya'll know what I'm talking about. I just can't remember the name)
Back to hotel for showers and clothing change
Mini golf for good cheesy fun (haven't decided whether we'll go to Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland)
Maybe going to another park for EMH or Pleasure Island?

Sep 15

Character Breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table
Animal Kingdom
Back to hotel
Dinner at Chef Mickeys or Food and Fun Center (having already used our table service)
Shower and change
Pleasure Island

Sep. 16 (my birthday)

Epcot World Showcase
Dinner in Italy or Mexico
Illuminations again :)
Back to hotel to freshen up
Pleasure Island till LATE (I definitely plan on partying like it's my birthday :cool1: )

Sep. 17

Breakfast at Food and Fun Center
MGM
Lunch at Commissary
Dinner at 50's Prime Time
Nightime parade
Back to Contemporary
Chillin' at the hotel and then making it an early night for a change

Sep. 18

Up early for breakfast at hotel
Animal Kingdom
Lunch at Rainforest Cafe
Back to Hotel
Downtown Disney for more shopping (early flight next morning, so no partying)

Sep. 19

Check out and head to airport

This agenda is definitely flexible and subject to change (especially with those wonderful EMHs). The only reservation I've made is for the character breakfast, and hopefully with it being September I'll be able to walk in to one of the nicer places or make the reservations when we get there and see where we are. The only non-negotiable for me is the World Showcase on my birthday. It's my favorite part of the whole resort! So what do ya'll think?

Our itinerary so far:

Arrive MCO at 1Pm on 9/21. Check into POP and head to one of the parks depending on the hours. We're planning on eating at the following places just don't know which day yet: PrimeTime, GardenGrill, Crystal Palace, Canada, Liberty Tree.

Leave for home on 9/26.

9/9
Son to Grand Adventures in cooking...just making that 4 year point :cool1:
PM...dinner somewhere, not sure where yet, but booked son at Neverland Club.

9/10 daytime ??????
8:15 pick up for Illuminations Cruise!!!

9/11 relaxing day at pool and mine and hubbys 6th anniversary!!
Son going to Sand Castle Club, and we have dinner at yachtsman steakhouse.
We plan on heading to the boardwalk after that.

As for other park days, no clue. I concentrated on our 2 big dates, for obvious reasons. I got illuminations for the night we wanted. I think we will play the rest by ear!!! We are thinking about doing sea world this trip, we haven't been since our honeymoon in 1999. :wizard:

9/15 Head home at 3:15 pm...in time to head to Loudon, NH for the Nascar Races at NHIS, on Friday am!!!

In reading the itineraries posted, I saw that we will be “crossing paths” with some of you. Is everyone going to wear their lime green ribbons and/or Mickey heads?

crazymomof4 - we're not staying at the same resort as you, but we are definitely going to be crossing paths with you! We too are going to the MK on 9/15 (our arrival day) and we're eating at the Kona Cafe for dinner that night!! I'll have to double check our ps time, but I think it is right around your time! How cool is that?

We are also going to MGM on the 9/16 (going to AK in the morning first). We'll be there in the afternoon for ToT and RNRC and then for Fantasmic in the evening!

Are you wearing lime green? I'll probably just get the Mickey heads at Home Depot and attach them to my lanyard, but they'll probably be hard to spot??

Just like I did for our 2003 trip, I'll probably get chuckles from my DH and DS's 16 and 13 but I will wear my lime green ribbon pinned to my lapel area.
I'll keep my eye out for your Mickey head! Last time I went to Home Depot they had plenty of every color but ............Lime Green! I guess there are many DISers living in our area!!! LOL

The posted itinerary is our "Plan A". There is a possibility that DH will not get to take the 13th off. If that happens I will have to move everything up by one day :sad1: That's "Plan B". DH will ask his boss this Monday, when the boss comes back from vacation, hopefully in a good mood! Keep your fingers crossed! :goodvibes
