September Check-in - September has Arrived!

Yay! Thanks for starting the thread Kaci :goodvibes

For the record, my birthday is on the 14th :thumbsup2

Welcome! The parks will be a great place to spend a birthday :D

Thanks for starting this thread & all of the work you put into it Kaci!

We just ordered our tickets this past weekend. Took advantage of the DVC DL annual pass discount. I am ready to go now!!

How exciting to have the tickets :) I bought ours during the ebates/Orbitz 20% back deal awhile back and it makes it feel more 'real' to have the tickets bought. Can't back out now, have to go to use 'em!

Best of two months, arrive on the 27th of September, and leave on the 4th of October! Taking the DW, DS and his new bride. Looking forward to doing the Haloween party! Staying at the Fairfield.

Celebrating,DS 25th Birthday, honeymoon for the couple, and new DDIL's first item out of the country, and of course first time to DLR.

Welcome! What a treat for DS and DDIL! I'll get you added :goodvibes

Obviously I wasn't paying attention! I'm so sorry! I hope all of you at DL have a great time. Please pray for me that I at least go to the correct park in September! :confused3:confused3:confused3

No problem! I hope you have a wonderful time at WDW :goodvibes

Welcome! Are you arriving early on the 29th?

We're driving down from SW Washington for the first time this year and I'm a little nervous about it. It'll be, by far, the longest road trip we've been on. I've been Pinteresting road trip entertainment, organization, and snack ideas for months :rotfl:

We are driving down from Tacoma, so you are not alone. DH is determined that this will be a "Griswold Family Vacation". He actually has us driving down the coast for much of the way.

After DL, we will be heading to the Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, and a few other Southwestern stops before we head home.

For the first time, we'll be staying onsite, at the PPH. We are very excited. We figured we should try onsite sometime, and this might be the only chance we get.

sept. 16th-20th staying at the DI&S first trip and our 12th anniversary! cant wait! :goodvibes

We are planning to leave the 21st. I've been doing the Pinterest research too.:) All kinds of good stuff on there! You've got a longer trip than us, we live closer to the Salem area, but have relatives in the Grants Pass area to break the trip up. Any good advice you have found for where to stop for gas or food, south of Medford?

We will be there Sept 7th-Sept 18th. Split stay between Hojo and DLH. We are celebrating DD6months 1st visit, DD2 turning 3 (a little later in the month) DD4 turning 5 and starting school (Early Oct), My 30th (a couple of months late) and our 9th wedding anniversary!

My mom and I are thinking of going for dapper day pricing at GCH since we have never stayed there. We are about to him submit on our tickets in the next few weeks I will post when we do.

We want to do the walk on walts footsteps and cultivating the magic while we are there!

Staying onsite sounds great! I'm sort of with your husband, I keep having this grand vision of what an amazing drive it could be. We're a homeschooling family so I'm thinking of all the awesome educational stops and opportunities we can take advantage of. In reality we're probably going to be a mess and it will generate some funny stories to tell for years :rotfl2:

I haven't driven south of Cottage Grove in about 15 years (oh gosh, MORE than 15 years... feeling old! LOL) so I don't have any first hand advice. I have been downloading some apps for road tripping that help you see what's coming up at the next exit, find inexpensive (relative) gas, and clean bathrooms. I need to start playing around with them more to see which ones are worth using!

Welcome! Dapper Days sound like so much fun, and you sure can't beat the onsite discounts! I've heard (read) very good things about the tours, especially the Walk in Walt's Footsteps.

What date do the Halloween parties start?

I don't think official dates have been released. Current speculation is last Friday in September, the 26th. The experts in the Halloweentime superthread will probably be the first to get the scoop on that.

Hi All!

Thanks for organizing this Kaci!

We are taking our first trip Sept 24- Oct 1. I think we will be doing 3-4 park days. We are staying offsite at worldmark Anaheim.

Travelling with my in laws (they have been before), my husband, 5 yr old son and 2.5 yr old daughter.

We've done 3 WDW trips in the last 5 years but super excited for California!

Thank you kaci - I had seen all threads but September - best of all months! We will be there from September 12-15 staying at the DLH and celebrating all of our September birthdays (DD-9/14, DS 9/17, and me 9/24). I realize we won't exactly be there on my or my son's birthday but we'll still make it special. Great deals on the hotel stay due to Dapper Days - can't wait to see folks all decked out!

I have some more info on our trip. We will be splitting our stay:
GCH Sept 22-23
DLH Sept 24-27

Just as an FYI for those staying at the GCH Sept 24-27: You will want to request a room away from the signature suites. There is a conference for test pilots and the large aerospace companies reserve the signature suites and open them as hospitality rooms throughout the week. The festivities last long into the night and as they provide a premium open bar, it can get a little rowdy:scared:

DH attends this conference yearly and I request a room as far away from the action as possible. It's interesting that this year they have offered us the option of all 3 Disney hotels, so I guess they're expecting a large turnout and want to spread everyone out. Anyway, just a heads up in case you see lots of people dressed up in a variety of military dress wandering around the resort.

We're going!!

We fly down on the 14th and head back on the 19th. It will be my son's (who will be 3.5 then) first visit and our first family vacation that involve flying and being more than 3 hours from home.

We're staying at the Best Western Park Place (wanted close but unless a special comes up, a Disney one was out of our price range ). Whatever. I think we'll survive.

Welcome! I've added you to the list :) We're also offsite and it makes me a little sad, but our budget stretches sooo much farther by staying on Harbor.

Shall we do a getting to know you portion of the thread?

My name is Kaci (I lack creativity and I'm apparently not overly concerned about my anonymity on the internet  ) DH and our two kids (DS 4.5 and DD 2.5 at the time) went to DLR for the first time in 12/12. This will be our second trip and this time we're roadtripping! After a week in DLR we're heading down to San Diego for a week to check out the zoo, museums, beaches, and most importantly some really good Mexican food!

Here we are in 2012

Welcome, pigby! I've added you :thumbsup2 Manchester to SoCal is a pretty big hop, I can imagine it puts you in bed early :goodvibes

It certainly does - last year we were tucked up in bed next day by 2pm!! And we slept until next morning.

On the 'getting to know you' - we are a family of three but DD will be 20 when we go. We live in the North of England near the city of Manchester.

This is our 4th trip to Disneyland although we have been to WDW and Disneyland Paris many times. Never stayed in a Disney hotel in DLR yet although we wouldn't dream of not staying onsite in WDW and Paris - reason really is usually the cost of flights and no free dining to tempt us in DLR - but one day....

My name is Lana, and I will be travelling to DLR from Australia with DH and my parents. Last time DH and I went to DLR in 2012 we came back engaged! We included HKDL in our honeymoon and first anniversary trip, and my parents and I also went to DLP in 2013. Now I just need to hit WDW and TDL :-)

I am so happy:rotfl:! Yesterday I booked a trip for September 13-15. My brother and I are returning for a quick trip with the great Dapper Day discounts and to use the APs we got in February for DD and our December family reunion trip. We are staying at the GCH again which was so much fun in Feb. Thanks for starting this thread Kaci!

Hi, my name is Debbie and we, meaning my DH and I will be staying at the Best Western Stovall during the last 2 weeks of Sept. We normally always go in Sept. But, last year decided for November. It was fun either way. This is like my 9th trip to DL. My first trip was in 2007 and now I can't get enough. I will only have to go 3 months to get my Sept fix as I will be there for a week in May to celeabrate my DH's 60th birthday and our anniversary.

Here's my getting to know you post :) That's me, DS6, DS4, and DH in December, in the wheel house of the Mark Twain.
