*September Car Rental Rates* 2011

YAY! $137.14 for a full size 9/10 - 9/19. That's great for 10 days. It's a little less than I paid last year for 9 days.

I need my full size for the monster rear facing car seat. It's a shame mini-vans are so much more expensive.

rates bouncing all over...

september 10 onward for more than 7 days is 102 base ( the best it has been in ages ) if you do just 7 days the base rate becomes 165

september 11 onward for more than 7 days is 166 base, just 7 days base rate 165

now september 12 onward more than 7 days is 225 base
just 7 days base rate is 276

as for the past couple of weeks, the september 10 cut off date has been getting the BEST rates

Little by little by little....

I'm down to $316, out the lot. I'll take it..... for now. ;)

Thank so much everyone, for keeping us all updated. :thumbsup2

Thanks nuzmom! Unfortunately I'm too late. Been having computer issues for a few days and finally I'm up and running. I will keep trying tho. Thanks again!!

Stephanie

just checked your dates for september 10 - 18 ( which you originally posted ) and your total rate overall is now 112.56

this is for 10:30 am pickup and return

You guys rock!!

I have been checking my Alamo rates for the last few weeks and they keep slowly dropping. I had originally booked an ECONOMY for $250.

I am now getting a FULLSIZE for $97

WOW!!

Here are the rates I found today for the period Sept 9 - Sept 17 using the following codes:

Alamo insiders member sign in
7014667
AD4027JDO

68 Economy
74 Compact
91 Midsize
94 Standard
97 Fullsize
140 Premium

I just recently rebooked my fullsize for $125 and was thrilled thinking it could never go lower than that -- now its down to $97. The scary thing is that more than half of that is in fees!

my trip starts the 27th and all the codes end the 26th. Hopefully new ones will be released soon.

Just checked Alamo again for my dates from 9/9 to 9/15. Got a mid- size for $70.34 using the codes above!! :cool1:

$30.98 of that is the base rate for the week...the rest is tax and fees!

Jut switched to Alamo from National and got $131.84 for Sept. 6 -17 for a midsize using $40 off and Contract ID 7014667. Anyone know where this ID came from? Just want to be prepared in case they ask for proof of membership.
I've always used National EA so I'm hoping the counter pick-up process is not too bad or the self-serve kiosk. I know my ressie quotes a Toyota Corolla or similar...does anyone know what the similar cars are?

It's the Insider Deal 20% off Daily rate special for Florida.

my trip starts the 28th of sept.....wish they would extend or release new stuff to cover my trip already! I wanna get good rates tooo...wah!:headache:

Our trip is 9/17/11 (11am)- 9/24/11 (5pm). Earlier this month I reserved a standard car with Alamo for 8 days $215.46 which I thought was a pretty good price. I just checked and rates are still over $200. I woud be estatic to get a rate of $97. I am keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Thank you for the codes you used, and the breakdown.

I wish they'd go past the 26th, already!!!!! :headache:  :headache:

I'm waiting...... very impatiently. :upsidedow

I'm another one waiting for the rates to go down!! Our trip starts the 27th!! I currently have a minivan from national for 298 from 9/27 to 10/2...we dont fly home til 10/4, but it was going to be 400 to keep it the extra days and I voted to suck it up and take disney transport after most of my extended family leaves!!

YOURE GOING THE WRONG WAYYYY!!!! :headache:

~shake fist~

They're going UP now. **grumble, grumble, grrrrrr**

I was messing around with the pick-up and drop-off times, and it really, really makes a difference in the price. Of course, I am sure all the agencies know when the majority of travelers are arriving or leaving and adjust the price accordingly. Economics 101 - Supply and Demand!! :teacher:

I just checked a few minutes ago and the rates dropped again! I just rebooked my van for $219 for September 9-17th. I keep checking every few hours just to see if they have went down even more. My advice is to keep waiting. I didn't think I would see rates like this, but they have happened! Woohoo!
