I just checked rates for 9/17-9/24 and now have a reservation for $160.51 with Alamo. It was $189 last night.

I tried to modify my existing reservation but it still showed the old rate so I had to make a new one. Does anyone know why this happened??

So at 7:56 am I rebooked Alamo for $160.51 and just now I found rate of $136.18!!

Now, if only I can get under $100.

We got a full size car for 9 days for $87.00 - We are taking the disney cruise and car total with parking will still be cheaper than transportation to WDW and port canaveral and back to WDW. Super excited

Thanks for the heads up that rates dropped even lower! I just rebooked our Standard size for a week using the codes I listed previously for a grand total of $58.86. ($21.18 for the base rate for the car for a week and $37.68 taxes/fees.)

This is unreal -in a great way! Do you think if I keep checking back, Alamo will be paying us September renters to take a car?!

I think I have changed my reservation almost every day for last week. Sometimes I can get the change my modifying and sometimes I just have to make a new one. I check the base rate first as a new. If it has gone down, then I try to modify. If no change in price then I book a new and then cancel to old.

Dates please?

Ok another update - it has been 2.5 hours and I got an even lower amount - $120.73 for 8 days - standard size with Alamo for 9/17-9/24. That is $16.31 per day. I am using Sunpromo code 7014667 for 20% off and Insiders coupon AD4027JDO for $40 off.

My new obsession now is checking rates every few hours. I guess I have to keep busy somehow since all other WDW plans are made.

It is weird how the pick up time makes a difference. Pick-up is set at noon on the website and I forgot to change it. We are picking up at 4 and returning at 6. When I changed it, the price went down. It seems like it would have gone up since the rental period was actually 2 hours longer.

I know what you mean. Initially I input return time of 4:30 on the 24th and rates were over $100 more. So I changed it to 5:00 and got a great rate. I don't think it will be a big deal if we drop it off a little early.

I can't wait to see how low rates might go.

I wonder if the day of the week you pick up and return has anything to do with the rates. We are going Sept. 24-Oct. 4 and while my rate for an economy car has gone down quite a bit since I first booked a couple of months ago, it still is coming up just over $200. I thought the SUNPROMO was only good through Sept 26th. Maybe that's has something to do with your rate still being high. Just a thought.
