please let us know...we are very confused

I was also told that this was the status of the cruise at about 4:00 pm today.

YIKES!!!

The Carnival web site is reporting that they will not dock their ships into Port Canaveral until Tuesday.

The current cruise will be 10 days and the 7-day that was supposed to leave on Saturday will now be a 4-day.

They will have to make it about free for me to go through all of this for a 4 day "cruise to nowhere" - I'm sure - since there won't be time to get anywhere.

Melody,

I hope everything works out and stay safe!

CPM,

What time are you leaving from Fort Myers?

We actually canceled. My husband will not let me drive up there :(
I was going with another friend. It just isn't going to work out.
to CRSNDNY, it should take you 4 hours and a half hours from Gainesville to get to Port. Please be careful. This storm is crazy!
We are about to lose power right now. It's been flickering.

We made it to Dalton, Georgia last night and are going to set out in about an hour to go south. Not sure if we will go to Valdosta, GA or Orlando as we have reservations at both places. It is really tough to make a decision as to where and when to fight through the storm, as it looks like we will have to fight through it in either case. Keep us in your thoughts as the rubber meets the road. We hadn't heard from DCL but called late last night to confirm the new departure time, and they did confirm a 10 pm departure with 5 pm boarding.

We won't be going. Our Mon., 8am flight out of Phili was cancelled. So we'll take our full refunds.

I am praying for travelling mercies for every who is going & for a wonderful time on the cruise.

Looking forward to reading trip reports when you guys come back!

Blessings,
Millie

This is what our TA said DCL told him yesterday.

Cheryl & Millie: SO sorry to hear you won't be able to make it. It's probably best to not tempt fate, though.

DoctorP: Please be very very careful driving! Don't risk it if it seems too dangerous!

BTW -- Our flight hasn't officially been cancelled, but I'm not too optimistic about it right now. It just doesn't look good.

Here in Sarasota we are having moderate winds, a little rain, and some light flickering. Very fortunate up to this point. After reading several posts about the Magic possibly not returning until Tuesday I'm not feeling optimistic. I'm also worried about driving conditions even if the ship returns Monday. Oh, and let's not forget Tropical Storm Ivan.

Keep safe everyone.

Dr P - We are headed to Valdosta around noon ourselves. We are in Atlanta.

I hope we make it down. If they move to Tuesday, I don't know if we will proceed. That is why we are not going to head all the way South.

Those in Florida - would it be better to come down the coast from GA or down through Orlando with the traffic that will be trying to head to PC? Whatcha' think?

It doesn't look any better today for flying into FL on Monday. We are going to have to officially withdraw ourselves from the cruise. After 3 flights being cancelled and this storm moving so slowly, we are not going to be able to make it to Florida on Monday in time for the cruise departure. In fact, I just found out earlier today that Carnival announced that their once 7-day turned 9-day cruise will now be a 10-day cruise because they are unable to dock at Port Canaveral until Tuesday. We feel that Disney may not be far behind in that decision. That was just another factor that made us come to this decision.

So on Wednesday the 8th, we'll resort back to our Plan B and spend 4 nights at the Wilderness Lodge. I'm sure flying into Florida will be better by that time. I'm just glad we decided on an alternative plan so we still have something to look forward to!

I hope everyone who is traveling to PC today has a very safe trip and a wonderful time on the Magic. I hope it works out for the best for everyone. I'm really going to miss meeting you all! Maybe some other Magical time!

All our best to you all always,
Melody & EB

I'm so sorry to hear about the folks who are having to cancel. We're still holding on to hope that we'll sail tomorrow. But it must be a little bit of a relief to finally make a decision. I'm wondering if we'll hear today that the Magic is not docking until Tuesday. In that case we would definitely cancel.

Keep safe everyone.

Not to "wet on the parade" but don't you think it's imprudent and risky for Disney to encourage us to try to make Monday's cruise with all the weather, traffic, and uncertainties we would be facing?

I am not trying to damper the spirits of those who are trying, just feel Disney would have taken the safer route in telling us all to reschedule at a later date with refunds and some incentives.

Yes, the 40% off, $200 room credit and 25% off next cruise sounds very tempting but.......

Just everyone take care - that is especially for you, Big Kahuna!

Rae

At this point it appears as long as the airport is open tomorrow we will still be on the cruise.

Rea, I do agree with you DISNEY says they don't want to put their guest in harms way put just getting there in this is putting guest in harms way.

I talked to DCL about 1 hour ago. Embarkation is scheduled for 7pm and departure at 10pm. Of course that all depends on when the Port Authority can get out and assess the damage.

Found out that the DCL people are in a big, windowless warehouse structure about 1/2 mile from where I am at OKW.

I am getting a little stir-crazy being stuck in a hotel room now for more than 24 hours. Lots of hurricane coverage and Disney movies on the tellie. Am looking forward to getting out and having a warm meal. Nothing is open though. We were told to have food in our rooms for up to 30 hours.

Just called DCL and was told to call back anytime after 8 p.m. for current embarkation schedule. They will be open 24 hours/day.

the last call we had from disney was the leaving at 7pm. if they were to change it to tues, would they call us or are they expecting us to keep up with the website?
