You're talking about from Fort Myers, right? If so, we noticed that Gainesville was a little closer and chose Gainesville instead for this very reason. In your opinion, is that what you would have done?Originally posted by FL_Librarian
Melody,
The drive to Port would take about 4 to 4 1/2 hours on a regular day. If the roads were clear and the traffic OK, you would make it, but that seems really risky right now.
Yikes! You sure have had a roller coaster with this one.

Have to flight schedule one arriving in noon to Orlnadoand one arriving noon to Tampa. A CNN person indicated today they thought Orlando would be open noon Monday. If not then we will be staying home.

Delta called earlier and our flight into Fort Myers has been cancelled for Sunday. Fort Myers, Gainesville and Orlando are all closed tomorrow.
We're trying now to fly into Gainesville on Monday instead.
Does anyone know if we're able to get a taxi from the Hertz counter in Cape Canaveral to Port? The desk closes at 2pm and we will not get there in time.

Oh I'll definitely not risk our life or the lives or to be on the cruise. My hope is always that this weather is not too devasting and everyone nearby comes out ok. Then they can get back to normal soon.
Of course, that means they can get us on the ship Monday too!![]()
My situation is kind of unique in a way. I'd have taken the Monday cruise if they'd just have prorated my fare for the fewer days. The onboard creidt and 25% off a future cruise isn't anything I'd turn though.
I've been looking at what future cruises we may want. And, if they'll lhave the onboard booking discounts available too. I'll take all the discounts I can get. lol
