September 4th (2004) Disney Magic Cruise List

I keep staring at all of our stuff that needs to be packed, but I'm not getting anything accomplished.

Help!

Amazing how we are so anxious to leave but procrastinate about the packing!

Don't know if anyone brought this topic up before, but how many are planning on tuxes for Formal and semi-formal nights?

DH will be in tux both nights.

PS - we finally got all three weeks of documents. We are ready to cruise Sept 4 thru Sept 25. The Magic may never be the same.

No tux for my husband this time.

I have a broken foot and must wear specially designed (and lovely!) orthopedic sneakers all the time! We havn't decided what to do about formal night.

Please defend me when others whisper about the lady wearing sneakers all of the time!!!

Maryleigh

dh did a suit last time but isconsidering renting one depending on the dress i get, if i can find one..if anyone has a dillards, they have a great clearance rack for formal dresses. i found several from 18-60 bucks..i was so excited

No tux here. I'd like to at some point, but not this time.

Actually, I will be wearing a Tux :groom: for Formal and a Suit for semi-formal.... which reminds me I need to get to the tailor to get them taken in a bit... I've lost about 100lbs :cool1: since January... and nothing fits... which is ok on casual stuff, but formal :jester: stuff looks silly... lol... My bro will be in suits for both nights...

not even bringing a jacket or tie, i guess i had too many years of forced business attire and now i'm just a rebel. we don't even do the church clothes thing here anymore.

ok guys, i want to know your opinions on the storm. think there is anyway of avoiding it?

No tux for hubby this time around. He'll wear a 3-piece suit on formal and semi formal nights.

Well, its my understanding that the DCL has NEVER cancelled a cruise due to weather :umbrella: so, regardless of the path, I am assuming we will all still be going... though it looks BAD... here is a good link... Link to Hurricane Frances Status

Especially check out the "Projected Path" map... it currently shows it hitting Puerto Rico wednesday morning... which is a change from yesterdays projection which had it hitting PR tuesday Morning... Amateur meteoroligists will realize that this may be a good sign that the storm is loosing momentum, HOWEVER, it has also begun to take a more Northerly track toward the east coast of Florida... NOT good... :scared1:

If anyone has any updates, or info on Hurricane Francis, please share them...

Is this supposed to hit THIS week or OUR CRUISE WEEK?

they will avoid it, it may mean that we are on a mystery cruise. the actual track of the hurricane that was in the area when we sailed in aug 00 was very similar to the projected track of frances. we diverted to the west and spent a day in cozumel, two days at cc and afternoon at freeport. that storm was quite a bit weaker, about 70 mph winds when it hit st. thomas and puerto rico. when it went over hispanola it stalled in the mountains and fell apart. capt henry left port with the intent to make it to the virgins by going straight south and between cuba and hispanola then turning to the east, but that would have put us in port same day that huricane hit, so that's when the fun began, so if we can get out of port and track follows what it looks like it may then we may be able to try the same trick this time. at any rate i know that they will do everything they can to get us some kind of cruise.

i am reading it as its supposed too hit about the time that we leave. i would love a mystery cruise..iam just wondering if there is any way that it will hit florida before saturday of nourr cruise

I'm just a nervous wreck about our flight on Friday evening. If MCO closes like it did with Earl, I don't know what we'll do!
