September 30, 2012 Dream vacation

Hi All...I'm just checking in, it's been so long. I wound up having what I thought was a stomach flu actually turn out to be my first case of diverticulitis, resulting in 5 days in the hospital and the last week home recovering. When it first happened, doctor said there is no way I would make the cruise, but he is now cautiously optimistic that I am not in danger of a reoccurance in the forseeable future, but I won't get his final approval until the 24th. Thank goodness for trip insurance, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed it won't be necessary. My 8 year old has taken the possibility of our missing the cruise very well, nothing like promising a trip to Disneyland later in the year if we have to miss it to make it all ok.
Sure hope to see you all in 2 weeks!

I saw there's a FE group that closed a couple of weeks ago but that there might be a few people who will have the ability to add extra goodies to their gifting list. I'm going to try to pick up stuff to gift to others and still participate in some way.

Will you be hanging a FE by your door? Just so i know, in case i can pull something together for you this week. ( we start our vacation next Sunday!)

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I would love to attend the meet and greet to start putting faces with the names I've seen as I've perused the thread. We are leaving the kids behind this time so I can concentrated on having fun and relaxing. I would appreciate lanyards for DH (Vic) and myself (Noni). Our stateroom is 8546.

I almost wish I would've known we were doing this months ago. I feel like this is kind of rushed and it's hard to do a lot of research so I'm having to jut go with whatever comes up. It also means that I didn't have the time to come here and try to get to know the DISsers we're cruising with.

Sorry I have been MIA for a few weeks...Life has caught up with me and I have not had the time to get to my moms to get on here.

I am not going to have any extras for the newcomers on the FE. I purchased items that came in dozens and there were 12 kids on the 1st so I didn't need to order any extras. SO SORRY!

We just celebrated our 1st anniversary on Sunday and then started packing for this vacation! I have been agonizing over packing for months and DH managed to get all of his packing done in about an hour Makes me so MAD that he could do that. Now to get him to help me with packing DD so I don't stress out. OH... and I relaized REAL fast that our siutcases are not large enough for everything I need to pack.

I have been planning for 33 LONG weeks and now these last few days are ticking off so quickly that I do not have enough time to get everything done.

Quick question for those who have cruised from here before- How early can we get to the Port? We have 11am check in time but we have a rental car that we have to return to Enterprise before we embark. I know DH will be irritated with me but I want to be at the port as early as I can so that we can start meeting people and have plenty of time to send pics to family members before our phones are turned off for 4 days

can't wait, hubby is home tomorrow. Daughter had an elearning day at school so we got all her assignments done. So now we have the rest of the day to go get any ast minute stuff we may need to pack. Wednesday can't come soon enough!
