September 30, 2012 Dream vacation

I apologize, as this has probably already been covered, but I find this board format difficult to navigate --

Do we have a designated meet-up?

Those of you with 7 year old boys...do any of you think your boys will be spending time in the kid's club? I've got a shy, just turned 8 DS, who enjoys sports, legos, video games...i would love to have him meet so kids his age before he goes to the club. I dont anticipate he will spend tons of time there (as it is a family vacation for us), but i know he'd have a better time there if he "knew" someone. Hopefully we can "introduce" the kids at the meet up...which I think is during sailaway?

So excited, only 2 weeks until we leave for Orlando!! We'e been plagued with coughs and congestion up here in the Northeast, so we are looking forward to the warm temperatures as well! We can pretend summer isnt ending :)

I believe that we decided to meet on deck 12, starboard, during/after the sail away party (around 4:45 or so).

Sorry, everyone; life seems to get in the way of my Disboarding sometimes. :)

I have updated the spreadsheet with dibond38's room number, and each group who has said that they can cover the "soft" entries. If I've missed anyone, let me know.

I also wanted to mention to those who were talking about their kids, we've got two who will spend most - if not all - of their time in the kids clubs. They LOVE them. We'll bring them (Teddy, who will be turning eight on the ship, and Ellie, who is five and a half) to the meet-up, for sure!

The lanyard list is full. Please make sure I have a room number for you, so that I can deliver lanyards if needed. I will not hunt down families. I will have the lanyards at port, the sail away, and the meet and greet.

If you are traveling over from MCO with Disney, i will also have the lanyards at the airport. We are planning on catching the earliest bus to port.

I sent you a PM, but I'm not sure if it went through. So, just in case.....
We are in cabin 6144. And my DH's name is Mike:)

Thanks again for the Lanyards!

Maybe this is a silly question... :confused3 but i've never done this before. I have night 1 for delivery. At what point can we start making FE deliveries? As soon as everyone has their FE hung up? (Oh my, I almost forgot about packing my actual FE hanger! :scared1: I have it hiding in a secret place so my kids don't see it!) Do you all use those zip ties to secure it to the fish? I've read alot of people recommending it to be sure no one swipes it.

Our FE is usually the first thing we put up when we get to our room. It actually gets packed in the backpack that we carry on instead of in the suitcases. We use one zip tie to secure it to the fish--just be sure to leave enough space to be able to cut it off (we usually use nail clippers to cut it off).

6 more days of work until we leave for Houston for our Galveston cruise. My last post will be on Sept 20th; then, I will see everyone on the boat! I will have my phone, with disboards access, so I'll check it once we get back to land in Galveston.

Yeppers, it's a 7 night western caribbean. When we get off we're heading for the airport to catch an afternoon flight to MCO.

Happy birthday to your daughter! A slumber party sounds like a great way to celebrate!

I'm going to do all of our packing Saturday and Sunday. Who needs sleep when you're preparing for your disney cruise?!

Cant believe it is almost here... So glad to leave the laptop behind and turn off the phone! Hoping the weather will be beautiful and the drinks cold :)

The lanyard list (taken from the roll call) is back open! I just found out that my lanyard supplier is giving me 75 lanyards! If you are interested in specialized lanyards for you and your cruising party, pkease give me the first names of everyone in your group!

If your names are not on the roll call list, then i do not have them and have not made your lanyards.

Shouldn't you be getting ready for the first leg of your vacation? What a nice surprise they are sending you extras!

Well we start our packing tonight for hubby's work trip. While he is away I think DD and I will have to go get a few things for the trip!

A question for those of you who have sailed on the Dream before - is there any caffeine free soda available at dinner? We usually do not let our kids drink soda except for special times and I thought a soda at dinner would be a treat. It definately would need to be caffeine free - at home they are only allowed caffeine free root beer as their "soda treat" - but Ii think the ship has Coke products only???
