Reminder for parents traveling with children. If you are traveling with a minor child and without the child's other parent then you MUST have a notarized statement from the absentee parent giving you permission to take the child on this cruise and out of the country. If you don't have this letter they will not let you take the child on the cruise.

The link for the menus won't work for me. Could you repost them?

For some reason it won't post as a link without the **** in it. Arg!

You'll have to type in the following WITHOUT spaces. I have to put the spaces in there to get it to post.

www. disney cruiser. info/food.htm

The main page of the website is disney cruiser. info...maybe you can get that to work. You'll have to click on menus.

Homeschool chat sounds great!

Isaac is making a track right over our home. :( So glad that I am not there, but it will still be a long night of watching this play out.

Hope your home is ok. I thought about you last night when I was watching the news.

Some good information on it, but a lot of it is outdated...some even dating back to 2006 :( I like this website:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/cr-stateroom-navigator.htm

but the problem is there again it is outdated and not for our cruise... the most recent one with menus was in April on a 14 night Hawaii cruise. It was on the Wonder tho...

Yes, it is a little outdated. Does anyone know where to find more recent info? This was the best I came across when I was searching.

Thanks for the link to the Personal Navigators!!! I always wish I had these in advance...I'm a planner. :) Of course, we are sailing early out of galveston so we won't be able to see our actual galveston ones. :(

I've looked and looked too and can find very little. I think when we get back I'll upload all ours for future cruisers...I'm hoping they let me have more than one menu...making 2 scrapbooks and would like a copy of everything for each.

I too am a planner :P I have list upon list of what to do, when to do it, who to call, reminders to confirm all reservations AGAIN... Went to my mother's house and helped her pack her suitcase already...going to do mine and daughter's today...but I know myself and I will end up emptying it and repacking it a dozen times between now and then . Can you believe EVERYTHING we are taking will fit in 3 carry ons?? Am I under packing?? Well we are bringing a large suitcase too because I know we will leave with more than we are taking...but I laid everything out and it will all fit in just the carry ons. Hoping I can refrain from packing the large suitcase with unnecessary stuff just because there's room :P

Here's a question... vaccinations... we do NOT plan on eating or drinking ANYTHING other than DCL provided things (had a close friend get very ill in Mexico and he swears up and down all he consumed was bottled water...) and with the exception of the stingray excursion we are just heading to local free beaches at ports and then shopping... anyone get vaccinated for anything? We have not... wondering what/if we should and when...

We are packing a lot, but we are driving and not flying. I'd pack less if we were flying. I think a lot of things can be worn twice. I have a little black dress that I'll wear to dinner one night and then another with a little sweater added to it. My husband and son pretty much just bring 2 pairs of slacks to wear to dinner. They also have laundry facilities on board. I'm planning to wash at least a small load one day so we can wear some of the same shorts again. I've actually planned out (and even written down) what we are wearing each day so that I have exactly what we need. :)

We didn't get any special vaccinations. My kids are up to date on all of their regular ones though. Their pediatrician told me once that Hepatitis A is the one you should get if you're traveling abroad. I think it's mostly spread through food handling though so if you're just eating on the ship you should be ok.

We have been on 13 cruises and have never vaccinated for anything extra. The only time I ever got sick was food poisoning once. Didn't go to the.infirmary, but had all the symptoms and it was gone in 24 hours. Not to scare anyone :-).

It's our first time to cruise Disney... we'd like to go to Palo but we're worried we're going to miss something!

I travel to the Caribbean on a regular basis. I have been there sooooo many times to many islands. I have never gotten a vaccination and don't plan to.

You might consider brunch.. it's fabulous!

If I am allergic to shellfish, would a Palo Brunch be worth booking? Most of what I have read is how great the shrimp, etc. is at the brunch. What is at this that would be worth attending if I can't eat mango, cashew, shellfish?

She will love that... she keeps asking if there are other kids her age :) Being an only child she gets pretty lonely :(

I understand that Emily is our only daughter and misses having someone to play princess and tea party with.

I am excited for the first day meet and greet. Hoping that gives the kids a chance to all meet each other and get excited about all the kids club time.

A homeschooler chat sounds like a good idea! I'm sure we could plan something for an at sea day. The dining rooms aren't very busy at lunch time. I think most people go to the buffet. Maybe we could meet up for a homeschooler lunch??? That could give us a chance to sit and talk.

I've only been on a 3 nt. cruise and the dining rooms were practically empty during lunch. Someone who's been on a 7 nt....is it that way on the 7nt too? Not sure how long they are open for lunch. Maybe we could do a late lunch when there's not a crowd.

I'm just throwing ideas out there...any other homeschoolers interested??

I think that sounds like a great idea. We've done a bunch of cruises and you right folks don't typically use the dinning rooms very much at lunch.

I can tell you personally my husband and I were world travelers before we had our children (we even got engaged in Bangkok). We have never gotten special vaccines outside of travel to Thailand and Vietnam. We also eat at a lot of local restaurants in Mexico and the Caribbean.

I would however recommend LOTS of yogurt with live cultures prior to departure. The bacteria in the yogurt mimics what you see in Mexico. It won't stop you fom getting sick but helps. Still reccomend don't drink bottled water you have not opened yourself to see the seal break. Also avoid fruit and ice.

I'm a planner too so hope that helps. :)

I absolutely love the brunch and I don't eat shrimp. There is a ton of food, pastries, pancakes, beef, cheeses, pizza. The service is incredible and it is so worth it in my humble opinion!
