September 29, 2012 - Ropin' Some Magic in the Western Caribbean

I stand corrected :) And thank you for the clarification... we were looking on the forums of others that dressed up for pirate night and the thing my daughter liked the most was the eye patch... now I know to bring one with :)

Okay, I went through my closet and think I have found enough clothes for dinner. I do have a question though...do people dress like a pirate for dinner on pirate night or do you change afterwards?pirate:

We are dressing up for dinner. It will be a pirate theme and the dress code is sort of suspended for that night. I think there will be a lot of people dressed up at the late dinner seating. Not everyone dresses up though...that's still up to you.

Of course, you'll be dining with us and we'll all be dressed up...but no pressure!! :) And what a cute picture that would be...but, again, no pressure. ;) You know you want to dress up...you could just whip up a black skirt for you and Bridget...ok, maybe there's a little pressure!

Seriously, I just went to the thrift store and bought a ruffled black skirt and I found a peasant looking blouse at old navy. I'm adding a red sash and big hoop earrings. For Chris, he has pirate pants that a friend gave us (she'd made them for her husband for halloween one year.) I put a big white woman's blouse with it and he also has a sash. Nathan (14) will just wear black shorts and a white T shirt and an eyepatch. I also made him a "pirate vest" out of an old black T shirt. (very easy!) Claire (9) will wear a black skirt, white peasant looking blouse and a red sash. Everyone but me has gold clip on costume hoop earrings. I have actual earrings. So, it can be easy to throw together if you want to dress up. I'm one of those people who likes to theme things and dress up so I totally love pirate night! pirate:

Oh, and I bought a package of pirate tatoos. I have more than enough for my family so if anyone wants one on the cruise just let me know.

This will be my 9th Disney cruise. They do give bandannas but no eye patches. The waiters dress up as well. They will be taking photos in the lobby with Jack Sparrow and other characters. It is customary to dress like a pirate for dinner. If you have late dinner you won't have much time to go to your room and dress up after dinner so have fun, dress like a pirate for dinner... you will NOT BE ALONE.....

We booked last week cant wait! This will be our first and I see the fish extenders all over the internet? Looks like some sort of gift goodie exchanges? Can anyone clue me in to wether there is a sign up for this cruise for these? Sounds like fun!

We will also be dressing up for pirate night and so will our 2 girls;)

We have a lot planned for this cruise. You got in just under the wire for the FE latecomers group. Just sign up on the bottom of this page: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Au04YNSwAgnodGlZb3Q3UkpYZVlxYkJ1SEV2Wjc4YVE#gid=0

You can also sign up for cruise bracelets in the far right columns. They will be $4 and are specially designed for this cruise.

We are also having a Beauties and Beasts champagne and beer tasting for the adults. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Au04YNSwAgnodGlZb3Q3UkpYZVlxYkJ1SEV2Wjc4YVE#gid=0

Our DisMeet is in the Promenade Lounge at 3 p.m. on the first day of the cruise. We will get to know each other and let others know if room numbers have changed (which they sometimes do until the time of sailing.)

Welcome to our group.

Hey Kimmy Sue sorry I havent caught up with the boards yet. I have been busy getting ready to start school. Then My oldest daughter got a doozy of a migraine and we ended up takign her to ER to have CAT SCAN done. She is doing better now just have some sore eyes. But went back to Dr cor check up today.

Hi Cruising5 - sorry I was off Disboards for awhile and I'm trying to catch up. Glad to see older kids in this group. My kids aren't homeschooled but are on Fall Break for two weeks so this is our favorite time to vacation!! Yeah, Belton isn't that far away; we live in Pflugerville just north of Austin. Are you driving the day of the trip or going to Galveston early??

The stress begins..... Packed up all our FE gifts in a plastic tote and moved it to the second floor. Taking cruise documents and passports with me and hoping for the best. Looks like Isaac may choose the anniversary of Katrina to pay us a visit. All prayers appreciated during this stressful time! We are outside of the levee protection system which is why it is believed that we will be under a mandatory evacuation order very soon. I am so going to NEED this cruise!

Praying for you all! Stay safe..

Piper... do you have a close date on the late FE list yet? I will be on the Magic the week before this cruise. I'm doing a b2b so I want to make sure I have everyone covered.

The latecomers list will close on Aug 21st. That is this Friday--so 3 more days then it is closed permanently.

We received our luggage tags in the mail from Disney!! It's getting close - so excited!!! :beach:

I was wondering if we got luggage tags. That's pretty much the only luggage tags we have-Disneyland...Disney World...Disney Cruise! :)

Maybe I should ask...Do they come from Disney or the travel agent? I booked straight through Disney, but they've always sent me luggage tags every time I booked a vacation with them.

I was just wondering...

the only travel documents I've received in the mail are the luggage tags and the little spiral book that they came in. Will I receive anything else? I already checked in on-line and printed the forms to bring with me... but I was wondering if I should be receiving something else.

thanks!

That should be the only thing you get I think. Thats all we got.pirate:
