I don't want rough seas!!!!!!!! Let's hope it shifts. :wizard:

My very first cruise ever, we had majorly high seas (left out of Galveston and were on route to Key West). This was more than a little swaying. The dining room was half empty, staff were walking around with barf bags, it was horrible.

We tried to find a place and just be still. The higher you go, the more it rocks.

:scared1: Not interested in hearing that!! I've been on 2 cruises before, smooth seas from what I remember. I'm going to get something for us just in case, I wasn't planning on it but it can't hurt. Ooh- and I really hope the ginger I ordered for Fallon came in, apparently ginger droplets for children aren't a best seller. :confused3

Almost done for the day. If I don't get on DIS tomorrow, see you all on Saturday/Monday! I'm sure I'll take a break from the packing to jump on and see how things are going here. Hoping for improved weather. :grouphug:

Afternoon Update...

1. Circulation center south of Miami right now. This is Tropical Disturbance 98L. Projections have this moving North and East and possibly impacting the US East Coast next week. Most likely North of Port Canaveral by Saturday.

2. Tropical disturbance 97L. This disturbance is encountering wind shear and has dissipated. Tracking models show that the wave will likely be in the Bahamas on Saturday. If it does come back to life it could give us heavy rains and seas on Saturday.

3. Tropical Storm Karen. The track for TS Karen is shifting gradually westward. Instead of taking the sharp North turn, it seems that it might not be drawn North. It is now looking like it is heading northwest to west nothwest. Feeling is now that this may get within 500 miles of St. Maarten by Tuesday.

Watching closely for all of us!

For those leaving tomorrow, have a safe trip!!! We will see ya' Real Soon!

Okay, so it sounds like the Eastern Caribbean is in a little bit of trouble. How's the Western looking? Is that still a possibility??

Oh, Boy! Only number 1 looks like good news! We have 3 days though so anything can happen!:scared1: On the positive side of things if we do the west I can see Key West for the 1st time and get some rum and rum cakes from Grand cayman!;) I really will be disappointed if we don't get to do CC :sad2: though, but I guess it would be a good excuse to book another cruise soon right?;)
Hope to get back on the boards tonight but we have to leave for the airport at 5am. If not see everybody Friday or Saturday :yay: and I will keep my fingers crossed for the storms to disappear or take a different route!:rolleyes1

I would say that as of right now, the Eastern looks good with the exception of some rough seas.

Not going to Castaway Cay will be heart-breaking, but I guess it will be an excuse to go on another Disney cruise! What are you going to do, right?!
I am sure whatever we end up doing will be great. I have not read up on any of the Western ports, so I guess I should do that just in case, right?

So who's leaving tomorrow? Have a safe trip!! We are leaving Friday morning!!!

I am almost done packing - I just have to finish my clothes and my dd's, and the toiletry stuff, and make one last run to Target. I spent the day at work today making door signs and printing out tips I have been saving (don't tell my boss! :scared1: It's been really dead here anyway and my paperwork is done so I really don't have much to do besides answer the phones.)

I finished packing!!!! YEAH! :cool1: :dance3: :cool1:

We are leaving tommorrow to go to Indianapolis to fly out on Friday. I amy check here in the morning but if not I will see everyone when we get on board.

Hopefully the weather will hold out and we will have smooth sailing. I brought Bonine and some ginger snaps. I hope we can go to CC since this will probably be our last cruise for awhile. DH is in school and that equals very little money. We didn't get to go to CC on our first cruise due to a hurricaine but did go on our second one.

Hope everyone has a great evening and are not too stressed over packing!

As for the rough seas.....not sure how we'll be. Never had anything but calm seas in two previous cruises.

Hi everyone! I just need to fill out the Bahamian immigration form and put together the paper work I filled out online.

My excitement about our vacation outweighs my concern for the hurricane.. so we'll just wing it. As far as the boat "rocking" well.. I'm prepared with every seasickness remedy..;)

We're also leaving for the airport tomorrow at 5am...our flight is at 8:30am.

See you guys onboard or at MNSSHP!

Gr00vyChc :hippie:

Hey everyone !! Well were down to the final count!!! :cool1: You can tell as this board is dying down.

Thanks for all of the weather updates..I hope we have no rain Friday night at MNSSHP and I want the outside sail away party on Saturday...other then that well I love storms so as long as the ship is not in danger and the boat isn't rocking enough to make me scared :scared1: i would love to see one while out at sea.

Thanks so much for all the weather updates!!! I'm not letting it stress me out. I just want to be able to get on the ship. I do appreciate being up-to-date with what the possibilities are though. Sure glad I've got plenty of Bonine and Children's Bonine. Think we might need it.

Safe travels to everyone! We leave dark and early Friday morning. See everyone on Saturday!!! :cool1:

Just not on Pirate Night Tonya ! The pirate deck party will be cancelled and that is one cool party. I got to see about 10 minutes of it on our Western a few years ago before the skies opened up and everyone went running for cover...........
See everyone soon !!!!

weather smeather ;) I'm still going to enjoy my vacation no matter where we are.. western or eastern or days at sea :woohoo:
Gr00vyChc :hippie:

You crack me up! Did you get your braces fixed?

I'm 100% convinced all my co-workers think I'm obnoxious. Getting coffee in the pantry someone says "I'm sooo tired", I respond with "oh. hey, today's my last day in the office" and a big grin :rotfl:

:sad2:

We fly in Saturday morning, so are worried about the usual thunderstorms that go through FL.

:crazy2: pixiedust: For you and everyone flying in Saturday. We fly in Friday and I'm praying it doesn't take us until Saturday to get there!

 Ok, I'm almost ready to leave. I am half packed and my house is half cleaned. I finally found my contribution to the goodie bags. I got pop rocks and marshmallow eyeballs.

Those sound great!!!!

Obviously there isn't much we can do about it... We'll see what happens... However, based on the latest forecasts, I'm unsure if the Magic will be stopping at Castaway Cay Friday, sadly for it's passengers...

The Wonder was supposed to stop there twice with the sailing that left Sunday. Those people will be back tomorrow. I hope someone jumps on and posts how it was for them out there. I wonder how the Magic is doing out there, as well!

I don't want rough seas!!!!!!!! Let's hope it shifts. :wizard:

I am with you! Rough seas do not sound like my "dream vacation". I get scared in thunder storms!

My very first cruise ever, we had majorly high seas (left out of Galveston and were on route to Key West). This was more than a little swaying. Not sure I like this word "rough".

I spent the day at work today making door signs and printing out tips I have been saving (don't tell my boss! :scared1: It's been really dead here anyway and my paperwork is done so I really don't have much to do besides answer the phones.)

:sad2:
That's okay, what your boss (or my boss) doesn't know won't kill them. Besides, they'd probably be doing the same exact thing if they were going on the Mickey Mouse Boat!! ::MickeyMo :earboy2: :mickeyjum

We are leaving tommorrow to go to Indianapolis to fly out on Friday. I amy check here in the morning but if not I will see everyone when we get on board.

Safe journies to you and everyone else flying/traveling out tomorrow. Tomorrow is my packing day.

Gr00vyChc :hippie:

Pauline - you didn't post your room number!! :rotfl2: We have Bonine and Children's Bonine and I hear there is free Bonine outside the nurses station. But man, I do not want to have to take it!

other then that well I love storms so as long as the ship is not in danger and the boat isn't rocking enough to make me scared :scared1: i would love to see one while out at sea.

  :scared1: Not me!!

Safe travels everyone!! We also leave tomorrow afternoon. MNSSHP looks like we may be dodging some thunderstorms, so don't forget your cheap ponchos. 99 cents at Walmart/Target - $6-7 at WDW!!!

Can't wait to meet you all in person!!!

Each dot is essentially a 6-hour time period.

Looking at Saturday forecasts for Port Canaveral and the seas just off PC show that it will be a rainy, cloudy day with temps in the low 80's. If we are going on the Eastern, the seas may be in the vicinity of 10 feet.

:confused3 But how do you know when the picture started? The place where all the dots intersect is when? I think I am meterologically impaired.:rotfl:

We're leaving on Friday also, we have an 11 am flight out of SLC.

Almost done packing here too...whew....
