My very first cruise ever, we had majorly high seas (left out of Galveston and were on route to Key West). This was more than a little swaying. The dining room was half empty, staff were walking around with barf bags, it was horrible.
We tried to find a place and just be still. The higher you go, the more it rocks.
Not interested in hearing that!! I've been on 2 cruises before, smooth seas from what I remember. I'm going to get something for us just in case, I wasn't planning on it but it can't hurt. Ooh- and I really hope the ginger I ordered for Fallon came in, apparently ginger droplets for children aren't a best seller.

Afternoon Update...
1. Circulation center south of Miami right now. This is Tropical Disturbance 98L. Projections have this moving North and East and possibly impacting the US East Coast next week. Most likely North of Port Canaveral by Saturday.
2. Tropical disturbance 97L. This disturbance is encountering wind shear and has dissipated. Tracking models show that the wave will likely be in the Bahamas on Saturday. If it does come back to life it could give us heavy rains and seas on Saturday.
3. Tropical Storm Karen. The track for TS Karen is shifting gradually westward. Instead of taking the sharp North turn, it seems that it might not be drawn North. It is now looking like it is heading northwest to west nothwest. Feeling is now that this may get within 500 miles of St. Maarten by Tuesday.
Watching closely for all of us!
For those leaving tomorrow, have a safe trip!!! We will see ya' Real Soon!

On the positive side of things if we do the west I can see Key West for the 1st time and get some rum and rum cakes from Grand cayman!
I really will be disappointed if we don't get to do CC
though, but I guess it would be a good excuse to book another cruise soon right?
and I will keep my fingers crossed for the storms to disappear or take a different route!
It's been really dead here anyway and my paperwork is done so I really don't have much to do besides answer the phones.)
ME !!!! Thanks Becks Mom.....Still packing.......our plane takes off at 6:55 pm. I'm waiting to check in online with Southwest in less than 45 minutes to get our boarding passes !So who's leaving tomorrow? Have a safe trip!! We are leaving Friday morning!!!

You can tell as this board is dying down.
i would love to see one while out at sea.
Just not on Pirate Night Tonya ! The pirate deck party will be cancelled and that is one cool party. I got to see about 10 minutes of it on our Western a few years ago before the skies opened up and everyone went running for cover...........so as long as the ship is not in danger and the boat isn't rocking enough to make me scared i would love to see one while out at sea.

I'm 100% convinced all my co-workers think I'm obnoxious. Getting coffee in the pantry someone says "I'm sooo tired", I respond with "oh. hey, today's my last day in the office" and a big grin![]()
We fly in Saturday morning, so are worried about the usual thunderstorms that go through FL.
For you and everyone flying in Saturday. We fly in Friday and I'm praying it doesn't take us until Saturday to get there! Ok, I'm almost ready to leave. I am half packed and my house is half cleaned. I finally found my contribution to the goodie bags. I got pop rocks and marshmallow eyeballs.
Obviously there isn't much we can do about it... We'll see what happens... However, based on the latest forecasts, I'm unsure if the Magic will be stopping at Castaway Cay Friday, sadly for it's passengers...

I would say that as of right now, the Eastern looks good with the exception of some rough seas.
I spent the day at work today making door signs and printing out tips I have been saving (don't tell my boss! It's been really dead here anyway and my paperwork is done so I really don't have much to do besides answer the phones.)
We are leaving tommorrow to go to Indianapolis to fly out on Friday. I amy check here in the morning but if not I will see everyone when we get on board.
My excitement about our vacation outweighs my concern for the hurricane.. so we'll just wing it. As far as the boat "rocking" well.. I'm prepared with every seasickness remedy..![]()

We have Bonine and Children's Bonine and I hear there is free Bonine outside the nurses station. But man, I do not want to have to take it!other then that well I love storms so as long as the ship is not in danger and the boat isn't rocking enough to make me scaredi would love to see one while out at sea.
Not me!!Each dot is essentially a 6-hour time period.
Looking at Saturday forecasts for Port Canaveral and the seas just off PC show that it will be a rainy, cloudy day with temps in the low 80's. If we are going on the Eastern, the seas may be in the vicinity of 10 feet.
But how do you know when the picture started? The place where all the dots intersect is when? I think I am meterologically impaired.

Not going to Castaway Cay will be heart-breaking, but I guess it will be an excuse to go on another Disney cruise! What are you going to do, right?!
I am sure whatever we end up doing will be great. I have not read up on any of the Western ports, so I guess I should do that just in case, right?
So who's leaving tomorrow? Have a safe trip!! We are leaving Friday morning!!!
I am almost done packing - I just have to finish my clothes and my dd's, and the toiletry stuff, and make one last run to Target. I spent the day at work today making door signs and printing out tips I have been saving (don't tell my boss! It's been really dead here anyway and my paperwork is done so I really don't have much to do besides answer the phones.)
