September 29, 2007 - Magic

Ok.. I'm still up.. after watching "Dancing With The Stars" :)
My DH will need a day just to Tivo the shows I have to watch! :rolleyes1

Can we PUHLEEEESE not talk about returning from our vacation just yet.. you'll make Jac and Tonya cry :sad1: and me too :guilty:

I can't wait to PARTY!!!! Whooo whoooo!!! party: and oh yea.... try to get in some relaxation and some sun

Gr00vyChc :hippie:

I agree about posting after the trip. We get back late on the 6th so it sounds like I may be one of the first back to post. But I don't want to think about the vacation being over yet. We alway say that it takes so long for the trip to get here then it just flys by!

My DH is now becoming the opposite he is more excited than me (if that is possible). He was annoying everyone at work with "This time next week I will be..." and he said the night went so slow because that is all he could think about.

Well I got dd packed now onto dh and me.

gg have a great trip and we'll see you on the ship!:dance3:

I totally agree with you!:yay: I vote to keep this thread going after we return!!!:dance3: Anybody else in!:goodvibes

Me too! Me too! :thumbsup2

Even my co-workers have come to terms with my addiction and when I talk about "my friends" they usually add, "From the computer?" :lmao: :surfweb:

Too funny!! :lmao: :rotfl:

GG - If you see this, have a safe trip! We'll see you and your lovely family on board THE DISNEY CRUISE!!! :cool1::woohoo:

I found 56 parachuters for the Goodie bags.

My parents are coming over to help us pack.

Oren is 6'7" so that is the easiest way to pick us out of a crowd.
I will try to attach a photo later today.

4 more days!

I'm thinking of Love Boat and Fantasy Island and I'm not sure I'm ready for DS to have such memories!
:rotfl: I think you're son will be fine JD........he's younger than my son was so probably a little less interested in girls.
But my ds loved the teen club so much. He made alot of friends on the ship. Our last two cruises were during "Jersey Week", so alot of people on the ship were from NJ. So coming back from our cruises, it was very easy to keep in touch with several of the kids. They even had a post cruise get-together at Hershey Park. He still emails/IM's with some of them to this day.

We lived in Kings Park from 1970-1972. DH worked in Melville and I went to Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, does that count?
Jan :earsgirl:

Sure! Former NYer in the house! :woohoo:

We don't care where we go as long as we are on the Mickey Boat! :boat:

Have a safe trip see you on the Magic!

I am one of the Western is my worst nightmare only because I have been to Mexico and Grand Cayman 2x each, I would probably just stay on the ship! Have to say I wouldn't mind Key West though!:goodvibes :mickeyjum As long as we stop at CC though I will be happy afterall we are cruising with the mouse!

I don't care WHERE we go, so long as we get on and GO!

We get back on the 6th too, I'll see ya on here! :surfweb:

Good morning everyone...

Here are the latest modeling runs for Tropical Disturbance 97... I am not pleased with the trending on the models... Basically heading north to the track the Magic takes... Note that the National Hurricane Center usually uses the CONU model (which is the combination of the runs...)

http://my.sfwmd.gov/sfwmd/common/images/weather/plots/storm_97.gif

OK, what exactly does this mean in English?! This may coincide with us leaving, our route, or both?!

As of this morning, it may impact leaving...

:scared1: Don't tell me that !! Ok, now I am freaking out this isn't supposed to happen. We have been wating and watching and watching and waiting and now this ??

But it could possibly change a lot in 4 days right???? :rolleyes1

Will most likely change in the next 24 hours, as computer forecast modeling is run every 8 hours... As of now, I would keep monitoring but not panic.

Here is, in English, the latest update from the National Hurricane Center...

SHOWER ACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH THE LOW PRESSURE AREA OVER THE
LESSER ANTILLES HAS BECOME LESS ORGANIZED...AND UPPER-LEVEL WINDS
ARE BECOMING LESS FAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A TROPICAL
DEPRESSION. HOWEVER...THE LOW IS EXPECTED TO MOVE NORTHWESTWARD AND
BRING SQUALLY WEATHER TO PORTIONS OF THE LEEWARD ISLANDS TODAY...
AND TO THE VIRGIN ISLANDS AND PUERTO RICO BY WEDNESDAY. INTERESTS
IN THESE AREAS SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THIS
SYSTEM.

I like to come home to a somewhat clean house, as well......But as long as it doesn't look like a tornado hit it, I'll be so happy!!!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
My kind of philosophy!

If we are talking about Tropical Storm KAREN the National Hurricaine Center doesn't have it near Port Canaveral on Saturday so it shouldn't be a problem leaving just maybe where we head after getting on the boat. We have been through this before with our first cruise and our second we thought it might happen again but we ended up being between two storms and had the best weather ever. So you never know till the day or so before. Here's praying that all will be well and we can get on the MICKEY BOAT!!!

Not discussing Karen. It is forecast to get out to sea by the weekend.

This is an area that is near St. Maarten as we speak right now.

HI EVERYONE!:wave2:

Just wanted to pop in to say hi!

Sorry about all the sick kiddles - Vicky, welcome to our group and sorry about your daughter. I am sure she will have a great time in spite of her injury though.

Sorry I missed saying goodbye to Grumpy-Gramps and Grumpy-Grandma. They are going to be a lot of fun on the ship, I can tell! :goodvibes

We have started packing, we have only 3 suitcases for the 5 of us, plus everyone's carry-ons. I will be doing laundry though. I usually do on every trip we go on. I prefer doing a few loads of laundry over bringing an extra suitcase. Dh always helps so it goes quickly.

I also bring Lysol wipes with me. We use them to wipe off the phone and the door handles, and also if things spill it's nice to have them to clean up with.

Thank you to tfc3rid for keeping an eye on the weather for us! I hope things continue to look LESS ORGANIZED AND LESS FAVORABLE (for the tropical storm that is! )!!! :thumbsup2 I would like my house to start looking MORE ORGANIZED and the hope of getting all my packing done MORE FAVORABLE! :rotfl2: One can hope!

Talk to you all soon!

My house is in the status of COMPLETELY DISORGANIZED at this time...

Additional model runs coming this afternoon...

nothing important to say, just wanted to bump us up.

in another 30 minutes, one more work day for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :cloud9:

and uh my house is pretty organized :goodvibes

Afternoon Weather Update!

3 Spots to look at...
1. Stormy Disturbance South of Florida. Not being monitored by the National Hurricane Center. This is a stormy area impacting South Florida over the next day or so. No development expected.

2. Tropical Wave 97L. This is impacting the Lesser Antillies and the US and British Virgin Islands in the coming day or so. This looks very impressive on radar and is moving the West-Northwest. Forecast models project it to be in the Soutwestern Bahamas by Saturday morning. However, it is expected that winds may prevent this from becoming a tropical storm.

3. Tropical Storm Karen. This storm is currently 1500 miles from the Lesser Antillies. Models have showed this storm curving to the north and missing the Islands by quite some space. However, latest trends show a more westwardly motion and a later curve to the North. This could be an issue ffrom a standpoint of rough seas.

Will keep you posted. At this time, I am not concerned.
