Btw- for those planning on getting Palo reservation on the boat, according to 1 of the other threads the first DCL shuttle outta MCO is ~9:30 and I think it's about a 1 hr drive (right?) so if you get to the port before 10:30 and "beat" that bus, I'd say you're 100% guaranteed to get the date and time you want. See ya guys there at 10:25. :grouphug:

Ibela, thanks for the info! We were planning to get there around 10:30 am (staying at the Country Inn & Suites and we have a rental car) but I think we will try to get there a little earlier to miss the crowd from that first bus.
The first thing I am going to do after boarding is try to book Palo brunch - if anyone wants to have brunch with us, let me know! :goodvibes

We are staying at CI&S the night before the cruise, too! We don't have a rental car, just going to use their shuttle. We will probably make our way over to the terminal as soon as we're up and about.

What time do they allow you to do the Palo thing? I need to prep the family that I will be leaving them at that time to try and cancel our dinner ressies for the final night and get brunch ressies for Thursday!

By the way, for your hurricane watchers, there's a thread in the main forum about the hurricanes and what not. There's some guy in there that is an expert and he's really putting some people's minds at ease.

I think as soon as you're allowed to board you can go and make the change. We currently have dinner the final night too, I want to switch for earlier in the week.

Thanks for this insightful 411... we'll definitely try to be there before 10:30am to beat the crowd.:dance3:

I remember talking with you about that - remember we both have sons the same age so we should try to meet up Friday night!

All I know is DeweysGirl (I think?) said to do that first thing, so I am following her advice!

We should definitely try to do that!!! I'm hoping to hit the pool as soon as we're settled in our room so the kids can burn off energy. Does anyone know if you can have pizza delivered to the CI&S?

It wasn't my fault, it's Mia's!!
:rotfl:
I am so sorry ! Did not mean to upset anyone

But I will pass the buck again and say I got started after Zane Anthony brought it up (see post #1963) :tiptoe: :o :smooth:

I don't think we'll be at the port as early as some of you since we're staying at WDW and doing the Halloween party the night before. But hope u all have a nice brunch at Palo's if you can arrange it :thumbsup2

We will be leaving WDW at 9:00am so we wil see everyone at the port about 10:30am. I wonder if the rest of the cruisers are as obsessed about Palo's as us?

They can't be. They're not on here. Thus making us the MOST obsessed!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :sad2:

I am here too, now that the first week of school is behind us! I was on the shortened cruise in 2004 due to a hurricaine, but the next one we were in between storms and the captain said we had the best weather he has seen no rain nothing. So you never can tell you just have to go with the flow. But I am praying for great weather!!

We are definitly ready for a vacation too! My DH has been working so much overtime to help pay for the vacation he is ready to go NOW! We have been watching the cruise dvd that disney sends out and dreaming of when we are there.

Have a great weekend!

Hi everyone! Last year I worried incessantly about a hurricane and the weather was perfect. They also forecasted a really heavy hurricane season last year after 2005 and they were very wrong. The weather was perfect. :cloud9: As long as we have our vacation insurance purchased and go with back-up plans for excursions, all should be well. As for buying vacation insurance, you can buy the Access America Family Plan (kids are free) until right before your trip begins, I think. I bought mine mid-July.

Hey Mike,

I'm really proud of you for putting down the cigaretts, that's really quite an accomplishment! Here's to you::thumbsup2  :cheer2:

I haven't posted much but now that things have settled down a little, I'll try and do better.

Pahrumpgirl, her DH, (Carol and Doug) I and my DH (Denise and Steve) are planning on heading to the port by 9 am. DH and I have our brunch reservations but pahrumpgirl and DH need to make theirs.

DH and I are really looking forward to meeting you all! We're all going to the MNSSHP the night before the cruise and would love to meet you fellow Dissers. I've been to MVMCP, last year, and it was awesome. If you ever get the chance to go, do so.

Steve and I are staying in the FW cabins. This will be our first time and I'm looking forward to it. Carol and Doug will be at OKW. To our fellow DVCers don't forget the Members Meet on Wednesday at the Atlantic Dance Hall at BWV at 4 pm. Be sure to check to see if it's still on for that time.

Anyone ever raised or is raising a teen-age boy? I know the girls are real pains but I didn't expect a boy to be one. Man oh man. God grant me the patience to survive this!! :sad2:

So, been talking about this cruise for over a year now and watching DVD's and specials and reading and talking and talking. For whatever reason, the dinner dress code thing sunk in with DS just recently. :teacher: Today, I take him to Macy's to see what we can find. His current wardrobe is basically jeans and t-shirts. So, what he needs is the other stuff to be presentable for the dinners. I insist he will be embarrassed if he shows up underdressed and we're all complying with the dressier motif. Right? I find acceptable items at Macy's (love their clearance racks) and we're thrilled - we agree on almost everything. Except formal night!! The formal night is of no issue to anyone else but DS. DH is not wearing a suit and tie or anything, he's wearing what he's worn to the more formal weddings we've recently attended and he'll be fine. But DS finds this short sleeved, collared black shirt and decides he wants that for formal night with a pair of nice black slacks. He refuses to budge on it. He wants the shirt. "It's cool!" Anything I point out to wear instead are words I cannot repeat here! (His words, not mine!) I'm having flashbacks to battles I'd have with my mother in stores about clothes. :rolleyes1 So, I want to compromise with DS and make this as easy on me as possible. :headache: I agree to the black shirt, trying to envision him as a dashing young man in all black. (Maybe we'll get lucky and be in AP that evening so he can just blend in! :rotfl2:)

So, I am here to ask you previous DCL cruisers - is DS going to be too casual on formal night wearing a nice, dressy, collared, short-sleeved black shirt with a nice pair of black slacks and black shoes (still have to buy those!) or should I insist he get one of the shirts he used very colorful adjectives to describe in Macy's that I'm still praying nobody overheard! :rolleyes1

I raised 2 sons so I know where you're coming from. I do believe that your DS will be just fine as there will be an assortment of casual attire on formal night. His outfit will blend right in.

The tuxes and beaded gowns were very few and far between on the 7 night Eastern I was on in March.
