September 29, 2007 - Magic

I just booked our airfare last week from Chicago (mdw) to MCO and we were able to get 139.00 incl tax /pp. :cool1: We have no stops either way and are flying on Airtran Airways. :thumbsup2

That's a great price for air fare!! One thing I was reading, when trying to convince my husband to take this cruise, is that the airlines have to keep their prices to Orlando pretty reasonable. The cruise lines depend on the airlines to get the customers there so if the airlines jack their prices up, the cruisers have a harder time getting there and thus, go somewhere else. The reason I jumped on airfare this week is because I read an article recently that the prices would be coming down because one of the airlines released their earnings and they were less than expected. So, it was predicted the high prices we've been seeing would come down a bit to encourage travel for the summer, etc. I jumped at our fare, not the best but the best I've seen it since shopping for air fare to Orlando, because I am worried they'll jack the prices up again soon.

I wish I had a non-stop flight to MCO like you, Groovy, but that was extra and I think the time off the plane will help DD. Of course that's what I tell myself! LOL :lmao:

All this vacation planning this weekend is really not motivating me to work today. :surfweb: Which explains why I'm typing a post while sitting at my desk at work!! :lmao:

Great pic october bride - hope to see some others!

Thanks for the hotel review link mia - glad to know dd's first hotel stay should be pleasant!

Um, I'll post my airfare too! Newark to Orlando, non-stop, 158pp (plus 3000 for taxes).

OK, I can't see any pics at work tonya, but I'll try to see them tonight! Glad you got your dl in time!!

It will definitely help your DD. We've always been ok with layovers when my DD was younger or even now. It gives her time to be "distracted" until she gets on the plane again. I give her plenty of things to do on the plane and bring her "favorites". So, fortunately we've never had a problem. princess:

I think now, it'll be easier since she's potty trained!! :cool1:

Oh yes, being potty trained this time will be great. Except, we will have to visit every bathroom in every facility we go to between here and Orlando. If anyone wants a TR about the bathrooms in Sky Harbor, the airplane, Atlanta airport, MCO, and beyond - just let me know!

I booked my airfare yesterday...Houston to Orlando, direct flights on Continental. We were able to get 194.30 per person, which I think is great. I am pretty sure that when I checked a few months ago, it was much higher than that.

My son, who is 3, loves to fly. While we were booking our tickets yesterday, he was standing at my elbow reminding me to make sure and get him a window seat. He made me show him the airplane diagram and which seat was going to be his. He is much too sophisticated of a flier for his age!!

Even though out trip is still so far out there, he loves to tell everyone that he is going on a big boat with Mickey Mouse, Captain Hook and Peter Pan.

Wow you guys have been busy this weekend. We booked our airfare awhile ago but I don't remember on what airline.

We come in the week before for our WDW part of the trip.

Talk to you all soon.

Hi everyone, guess where DH and I are going tomorrow? On our DCL land/sea. Wish I could hide you all in our luggage! We will be in WDW for five days and then on the four night Wonder cruise. Grumpy gramps will be on the cruise along with his DD. DH and I are looking forward to dining with them. It will be great to meet someone who will be onboard with us on our Magic cruise. Will let you all know how it was when we get home. Of course, it is going to be great!:goodvibes

Darnit! We don't have any family in Orlando to stay with. My son's grandmother lives somewhere in Florida and we might see her when we get home from the cruise on the 6th. We won't fly back to Phoenix until the 7th. Does anyone know how late you can stay on the boat when you get back to FL? I'd like to take my time getting off the ship because we can, we'll have no place to be. But just trying to figure out when to arrange a car to pick us up!

 I tried sneeking the kids in my parents luggage. Even the have empty suit case they brought wouldn't fit them.:confused3 I hate going to the airport to drop them off, it makes me want to go now. Only a few more months. When are you leaving Grumpy Gramps?

Unfortunately, jdblair they make you get off the ship really early. I think it is 8:30. I'm not possitive but I know it is very close to that time. That was the worst part because we are definatly not mourning people.

That's very cute. Great airfare!!! My daughter calls it "The Mickey Mouse boat". She is so excited. And she's recently become a huge fan of Peter Pan. We were telling her the other night if she doesn't sit still at dinner they'll make her walk the plank. She immediately asked if a crocodile will eat her. :lmao:

Oh well. At least I won't be one of the people scrambling to get off and catch a flight. I knew better than to put that kind of stress on me. Nothing like ending a vacation with a mad rush to the airport! :headache: No thank you!

Hey DIS'ers... Just booked a Cat 6 yesterday for me and the gf... This will be our first DCL 7 Day cruise... We've cruised twice on thw Wonder... Wanted a longer cruise and we're looking forward... It will be a looooong summer!!!!

Gr00vyChc :hippie:

And my 13 year old son, with little interest in his sister's humor, quicky told her there are no crocodiles in the ocean!!! (He has no imagination, I tell you!!) :rotfl:

What are the chances of being upgraded when you check in? We have a Cat 9 but it would be cool if they moved us to a better room!!!

Not too sure... I check the avaialble rooms on the DCL website and there were a number of Cat 6 rooms availalble... Not sure how it usually goes, I book my cruises on DVC points...
