September 29, 2007 - Magic

I haven't gotten around to even thinking about any of the excursions yet! Dh doesn't plan on leaving the cruise (or should I say pool and food) as his goal seems to be to make a firm butt implant all over the boat! I think dd may enjoy the butterfly farm (don't even remember where) so that's a consideration (not sure about how we'd get there or if we'd do something else). I may check on cruisecritic but maybe if you guys don't mind, you can post your findings from the Passporter site here? :rolleyes1 Hey, at work it's not stealing someone's idea, it's "leveraging". :rotfl:

We're on Deck 7 too Tonya, but I don't remember our room # and can't find our papers anywhere . . . I think 7044? Or is it 7042? Or 7024? Guess I should find those papers as it has insurance info on there too (haven't ordered it yet) . . . and I might need them to get on . . :headache:

Hi ibela ~
As far as the Passporter review of the Butterfly Farm in St Maartin :
It got an 8/10.
you board a bus for a narrated tour to the French side of the island. After the tour, you stop at Marigot for shopping and touring. The Passporter tip is to wear bright colors and the butterflies will be more likely to land on you. Meeting time is 8 am. Most reviews were favorable and said it was a "great island tour" and should not be missed especially for kids 12 and under. It's a 3.5 to 4 hour tour and cost is $34/adult and $28 for kids (ages 3-9).

I did a search on the Passporter boards and there wasn't much. I saw a few undetailed reports that said it was "great" and "fun". The Passporter boards aren't nearly as prolific as the DIS. I can ask a question on the DIS and get an answer within minutes/hours.....it's more like days....weeks....or never on Passporter....but I have learned a few things on those boards. Just wish the community was a little more active like on the DIS.
Hope this helps !

No problem! I have never seen one in person at all, but by that comment :scared1: I don't know why but I have never really thought about it. All the pictures make it look like you are pretty close to the water. :confused3

It's something to behold and you will be in awe of it's size when you see it. But it's an exciting moment, not scary! :wizard:

Anyone else trying to lose weight before our cruise? I know.. i should be out there running instead of being on the dis boards :rolleyes1

A couple of us are! I am. Doing Weight Watchers (not a member - just know members and get told the tricks) and working out. I've lost 8.5 pounds since January. It's a work in progress. Bathing suit season starts early in Arizona so I have a lot of motivation right now!

Hi every one thanks for all the comments and suggestions:hug: ...it's just we have this no fly policy in our little family...we only fly as a family...you know the whole if "anything happens will be together" thing...so DH flying down by his self is not a option. But I am happy to report that after 3 days of filling DH's head with my lovely nagging:sad1: , he went in to talk to his boss today and his boss said "they'll work something out"....YEAH!!!:cheer2:

aaaaaaaack tell me about it! We'll be in AZ (Queen Creek) for my brother and sis in law's vow renewal and I have to be in a dress! I haven't been in a formal dress since december and I've been "stuffing" myself with so much food since then :scared1:

Hopefully, I will lose the weight then and try to lose even more before September. I have been "tivoing" fit tv for some cardio stuff but haven't gotten around to exercising with it. :rolleyes1

i need to be but i am just not motivated at all :confused3 i thought the cruise would do it but so far it hasn't helped

No motivation here either...untill i pulled out NYE pictures....yuck:scared1: ....So hubby, kids, dog and I started 2 mile walks after dinner this week, the only hard part is twice he walked me past a Dairy Queen!!!

I held up in the face of "soft serve "and am down 3 pounds...:goodvibes

P.S. Loved your outfit for formal night!!:thumbsup2

Hey guys.. what's a passporter and when do we get that once we've booked.

Also, for those who have been in a cruise before... do they give you those cute mickey soaps and shampoos like the ones you get at the WDW resort hotels?

Just a Handbook?! If there were a falling down dead smily I'd use it LOL Its quite an addicting not so little handbook. Think about having all the info you get on the cruiseboard in 1 place available 24/7 and that's a passporter. I bought mine b4 I even booked the cruise. It helped me decide where to go. Now I've been studying it like a nut to decide on excursions and so forth even though I have last year's version and I know from checking(but not buying) Birnbaum's that some of the excursions have changed. But the ones I'm interested in are still sold so no big.

As far as working out goes, yes I'm trying to look my best for a bathing suit for this cruise. I've lost 15lbs so far using a stability ball and DVD. If only that weight had come off my legs then I'd be done. BUt Nooooooooo still there. Gotta keep plugging away. Take my advice though, if you haven't done the stuff you TIVO'd you're not gonna. Maybe you wanna check www.collagevideo.com to see if there's something you like. Its got a huge amount of workout types to choose from. Its where i got my current video and was worth the money. I feel so good when its done and my workout is still hard for me.

Hope everybody has a great weekend. I gotta get dressed to workout and then clean for company.

Hey all....our cruise is not sold out as of now...

Maria, that is one of the reasons we booked this cruise! Our family group just booked a few weeks ago and we were still able to get early dining, not to mention the category we wanted. I do not think the ship will be full when we sail.

About the losing weight for the cruise...:rolleyes1
I would love to be lighter, but that was my goal for our cruise last year and it didn't happen! One thing I noticed though - I was not in the minority! My mom has been on cruises that cater to Europeans and they are definitely more body-conscious than Americans.

One thing I did last year to get ready for our cruise was walk 2-3 times a week. We did a lot of walking in the ports and on the ship, as well as climbing stairs, so it helped to be in better shape for that.

Wow, I can't believe we are under 6 months til we leave! Is anyone planning to stay at WDW post-cruise? The kids have that Monday off because of Columbus Day and I was thinking of spending 2 nights at WDW and fly home Monday. The problem though is it will be a busy weekend in the parks. I am not sure what to do.

Hi BecksMom !
Glad u were able to book the cruise and get the dinner seating you wanted ! We're the late seating because we like to be able to stay at the ports as long as we can and my kids are teens so they can hang and stay up late. Our first cruise, I insisted on the early seating.

And yes....we were going to stay at a hotel by the port before and after the cruise but decided on staying in wdw before and after. So we'll be at a disney hotel on Sept 28 and Oct 6. We'll leave to go home on Sunday Oct 7. I think my kids have off Monday as well, but my husband will be out of vacation days as we're also doing a wdw trip in August.

:rotfl2: :confused3 Hi all,
Buy bigger dresses, I baught bigger pant and have no stress what so ever. Don't even feel guilty about it.. I guess thats why I'm GG.
gg

Grumpy Gramps :rotfl2: you're sooo funny! Unfortunately, I already HAD to buy my clothes 1 size larger!

Maria: We opted for late seating too.. not because I have teenagers (she's only 3).. but because we normally eat late and also because we'd like more time to do other stuff before dinner, like catch a matinee, hang with our daughter, and also after we eat dinner.. my DD(4) will just go straight to bed without any fuss! We will enjoy the night sitting on the verandah drinking wine and enjoying the ocean air. :)

Ok.. well we're going to meet anyway.. so let's post some pics.. so that when we see each other in the hallway.. we can say "Hi aren't you...."

You'll be close by when you're in Queen Creek! Pack the sunscreen! LOL Before my surgery, I was working out to Pilates with Weightloss for Dummies. I love it and have turned on a couple of my co-workers to it and they love it too! You see results pretty quickly!
