September 22-25, 2011 Disney Dream Cruise

we just got our Magical Express luggage tags for our resort stay had to call and get more sent for 10 days we are gonna have more than 2 checked bags. Now i have to call the cruise line to get them to send us enough of those tags.

Well, we got a $11.52 credit on our Disney credit card. Might have to actually splurge on a drink. LOL The kid might even talk me into one of those souvenir cups!

Anybody know why we're getting credits?

Gina

The credits are due to a change in port fees. They collect the current fees at the time of your booking, and if they go down for your sailing then DCL will credit the money back to you.

Hi fellow DREAMER’S, I am trying to tie up the rest of my FE gifts but I need to know the ages of the children participating in the FE exchange. I know that there are 12 girls and 10 boys I just want to make sure that I have the correct amount of age appropriate gifts for each group. I am sure that a 12 yr old girl will not want the same gift that I have for the little girls, so if you would please PM the ages of your child or children so that I can make sure that I have everything sorted out. Hope everyone has a great week!

So, I'm a teacher and our first day of school was today and it's been a bit of a stressful month. I'm the technology/computer person, and we got new computers that I've been working on installing onto our network for the past several weeks. So, it was SO exciting to open the mail today to find what???

OUR CRUISE DOCUMENTS!!!

It's like it made it real that it's only a few short weeks away!!

Oh my goodness, we had dropped down to page 4 of the cruise meets threads. Where is everyone? Already packing for our cruise that's in less than FIVE weeks??? I can't believe that it's coming SO quickly!! Is everyone ready???

We have been packed for awhile i guess i should start getting everyones email addresses to send yall the list of people on the Gift Exchange and the map that shows where everyone is at.

Wow, I'm impressed. I won't actually pack until the night before probably, but of course I will "try" to pack earlier. But, being in central FL, I can't pack up the shorts and swimsuits too early. I do need to get going on my FE gifts though.

It is still warm enough for shorts and tshirts here as well so I still remain "halfpacked" which I have been for about a month already! lol Well at least all undergarments, swimsuits and "dinner wear" is done as the boys have lots of those things! Yay! Hope everyone has a great week!!:thumbsup2

We just got off the Freedom of the Seas this morning, and low and behold, who was coming in port behind us.... none other than the Dream. She sure is a beauty. We had fun on the FOS, but I can't wait to get on the Dream....

The kids still don't know... I just hope these two trips are not too close together. Right now, my youngest is not interested in cruising again any time soon. She has 1 month to change her mind....:wizard:

Hi everyone!! Just checking in after 2 weeks in Las Vegas...hopefully one more week to go, but we might be here longer. Working 18 hour days hasn't been the best of times, especially in the city that is supposed to be nothing but fun. I'll be ready for vacation for sure (hopefully the bags underneath my eyes will have faded by then??)!!!! Hope everyone is well. :goodvibes

I did the FOS last December and booked the LOS for next Thanksgiving, it is a lovely ship but my sister and I were so disappointed in the MDR food except the tutti salad at lunch. I have to say that the highlight of the cruise for me was the beautiful island of Labadee Haiti. How did your kids enjoy the DreamWorks characters and did you guys make it to any of the character breakfast

We were on the Eastern Caribbean so we didn't see Haiti. We were disappointed in the food in general... not that it was bad, it just wasn't that good, and there didn't seem to be a great variety. Yes, we did a character breakfast on the last day at sea. You had to make reservations and the last day was all we could get. That was the most interaction we could get with the characters and that was just 3 characters coming around to the tables. We were able to get pictures, but the "autographs" were inked stampers that gave you a drawing of the character. The good thing was that there was no ships photog there, so I didn't have to pay for the pictures. Most of the photo ops with Dreamworks characters was controlled by the ships photogs... and they charged $19.95 for a picture. They would let you take your own but usually would only let you get at a very odd angle, so my pics were not great.

When we booked, I was told that characters were everywhere and there was plenty of interaction. I expected something like Disney, but other than staged photo ops and a couple parades, they really were not out that much. We were dissappointed with that. That is one of the things I am most excited about in thinking of the Dream. I am expecting WDW type interactions. I hope that is the case anyway. :wizard:

I figured that RCCL would not have the Characters all over the place, due to many of the loyal to royal cruisers that didn’t even want the DreamWorks characters on the ship; I think that they don’t want their favorite cruise line to turn into DCL. I think RCCL wanted to recruit more families but not lose business so they keep the characters more contained. I decided on LOS for next year just due to the excellent price compared to DCL 2012 prices. I think Evan will be fine with seeing some characters here and there, it won’t be Disney but it will be about a thousand dollars cheaper which means that we can do something else. The first thing that I will do when I board is make reservations for all the available character breakfast. Is this your first Disney Cruise? If so you and your family are in for a treat! The Characters will be out and about, they will have meet and greets, the times will be in the navigator, but you will see them all over the place at random times just walking and goofing around, and the good thing about the character interactions is that you can use your own camera to take photos and the CM’s will even take a pic for you if you ask. I guarantee you that you will love this cruise!

Yes, this is our first DCL cruise. I can't wait. I know my kids would be excited too, if they knew. I got our documentation/luggage tags in the mail yesterday and had to sneak them in the house.

Both of my children think there is no way we could ever go on a disney cruise.;)

Cool! Let me know if it will work out. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Do we have a final count on the number of Cabins and people on the FE exchange? I know we had one earlier, but then it seemed to grow a little. A couple of my things I can still adjust as needed.

I can't wait to meet you guys. :thumbsup2

The Dream sure is pretty from a distance. I can't wait to step on board.

I'd like to PM you but apparently the rule is ten posts before you can PM. I only have eight...well, nine with this one. Guess I have to find something to post about and then I'll be set. Wish me luck.
