September 22-25, 2011 Disney Dream Cruise

Thanks for the tip about checkin. I went ahead and used a different credit card that would still be valid when we sailed and was able to get an 11:30-12:00 Port arrival time. (The 11am time must already be full because it was grayed out.)

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1::cool1::banana::banana::banana:

I know 3 nights is not going to be enough.

Hello Everyone, I have heard that everyone will be assigned a time to enter the port and that it will be strictly enforced, I guess we will have to wait and see if DCL will actually implement the change. I think we have the 11:00am boarding which was the first time that was available. I will be there on time with bells and whistles on. I am never on time for anything, but I bet I will be on time to get on the ship. As far as Nassau goes, we never do anything when we go. I am considering this time to do a day pass at the Sheraton or the Hilton not sure yet. If we don’t do the day passes Evan and I will get off just to take a couple of pics and then we will be back on the ship. What hotel is everyone staying at before the cruise?
Since I logged on and did the check-in before they made the port opening change to 11am, I was able to get the first one, which at the time was 10:30am. I keep checking the online thing, and it still keeps saying 10:30, but if the Port Authority isn't even opening the port until 11, I guess we'll show up then.

The talk on the other thread is that it's not DCL implementing the change, but the actual Port Authority because of the mass amounts of people standing around before they can actually board the Dream. It was becoming a fire hazard, etc.

We're staying at the Country Inn & Suites the night before the cruise. We thought about just heading over in the morning, but decided to just drive over on Wednesday after school to relax & get a good night's sleep before the cruise.

You get your port arrival time when you do online check-in. I did mine at midnight the first day it became available for silver Castaway members, and got the earliest time of 10:30. However, I've been reading that they're pushing back the earliest time to 11, and not letting anyone into the port before that. I've been trying to check online but the site is a bit screwy lately. Every time I click on the online check-in tab it dumps me back to a login screen! Disney sites are notoriously glitchy. I'm supposed to be boarding at 11 a.m. with the other TA's attending my agency's conference, for a ship tour, so I'm hoping we can get into the port before then!!
Mine still says 10:30am, so I'm guessing that yours does too. I figure that I'll read some trip reports of Aug & Sept cruisers to see how this new boarding procedures goes. Then I guess I'll know if I'm just supposed to go when it opens at 11am.

We're staying at the Country Inn and Suites, but we will park at the new place that charges like 6.99 a day with free shuttle to and from the port.

We have the 11 am boarding time too! Maybe we'll run into each other. We're staying at the Country Inn and Suites the night before. $6.99 parking? where is this?

Since we are coming from the resort not quite sure what time we will get there last time it was a little bit before noon so i did a 11:30-12 boarding time i think.

I found out about the 6.99 a day parking from the link below it was cheaper to book room only and pay for parking by itself then to book the cruise package at the CIS plus you get an extra 10% off parking if you reserve online.

Hey everyone! Havent been on for awhile...hubby's travel schedule for work has been brutal for the past two weeks, which makes for a very busy Mummy teehee! So first off, forgot to put on my FE list our names...Me-Sarah, DH-Ken, DS9-Nathan and DS8-Dylan. And we would definately be interested in a meet-and-greet! Just let me know when an where and we will be there. Now for an important question...I have completed all the online checkin EXCEPT the identification section because my hubby has to finish his passport renewal process UGH! Is this going to cause me to get like a 2:00pm checkin? I am freakin out beacuse we are leaving POP CENTURY by about 9:00am and heading to the Port. Really dont want to start late as this is our first cruise and every minute counts! teehee :lmao: Any advice or suggestions would be fab!! Hope eveyone is having a great day!! PS Think the mardi gras beads area great idea!

That is no joke - - it is pure insanity, particularly because they also offer kid's club check-in in the terminal now too. :scared: But, I really don't see how the port is going to enforce check-ins. People are going to arrive when they arrive, and they are either going to be hanging outside the terminal or inside it. We'll see, though, I guess.

I, too, went ahead and did online check-in and we got an 11:30-12:00 check-in. That actually works out perfect for us and hopefully I'll see some of you guys around the terminal. :goodvibes

We'll be coming from the Contemporary. I'm on a quest to stay at every single WDW resort :lmao: and I thought that would be a good one for this trip since we're doing MNSSHP on Tuesday night. We can just walk to the MK from our resort, which will be nice when everyone is leaving at the same time after the party ends!!

Yeah, when we stayed at BLT for Christmas, that was such an awesome perk to be able to walk back to the hotel, instead of having to wait for the monorail. You'll love the convenience. :thumbsup2

We've had to change our plans and move our date...so we won't be sailing with all you fine folks. Hope you have a GREAT trip! Perhaps we will see you on a future sailing...:thumbsup2

We have been on 3 Disney Cruises, but this will be our first member cruise. We are so excited. We look forward to meeting other fellow DVC members.

I think you have the wrong thread, this sailing isn't a DVC member cruise. I thought I read somewhere that the 2011 member cruise was in November?

Actually, the member cruise is the one right before ours! I tried to do a back to back with the member cruise, but couldn't get a ressie and my waitlist came through but we decided to pass it up as it was a higher catagory than we really wanted to spend our points on.

Hello everyone. Just stopping by to say hello. I haven't been very active on this thread but I intend to be now that we are less than two months away. This cruise was oringinally for our family of four but after a last minute WDW trip earlier this month, we've decided to make this an adult cruise. I love everything Disney and tried our first DCL cruise in 2009 and we were hooked. This will be our 2nd DCL cruise but our 6th cruise all together. We participated in the FE exchange on our last cruise and loved it. Our family was on the original FE count but we just dropped the kids on PIF date, so there will be 1 less girl and 1 less boy. Sorry for the late notice on that. I look forward to meeting all of you guys!

Just checking in to say HI everyone! :flower3: We've got a very eventful next month or so planned, with school starting next week  and me going to Las Vegas for a three week trial at the beginning on August :eek:. We also have the contractors beginning work on our kitchen cabinets tomorrow, so we will be without a stove for at least a week and be without a sink and dishwasher for at least a month, possibly two. :scared1: We will definitely be super ready for this cruise!! Hope everyone is having a great week. :goodvibes
