September 22-25, 2011 Disney Dream Cruise

Hey everyone! We're just 2 short days away from our cruise! If anyone needs the updated FE cabin listing, PM me your email address as soon as possible! There were some changes to cabin numbers (at least I know mine changed).

See ya soon!:dance3:

I've sent the FE list to those that sent me their email addresses via PM. IF you still need it, just PM me your email address and I'll send it right out!

Getting all my packing finished, but things got a little stressful around here. DHs aunt fell and broke her hip last night and the surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. He's very stressed out about it and this just couldn't happen at a more inconvenient time.

And, ironically enough, DHs mom fell and broke her hip last December, on our anniversary, while we were at WDW.

What's with this family and their broken hips while I'm supposed to be vacationing?!?!?!

If you pray, say a prayer for DHs aunt please!!

alikat99, thanks for the updated FE list, and we will pray for your aunt.

We hope to finish packing soon and loading the van. My plan is to try to head out at 4 in the morning. I hope we can.

See you there!

Hello everyone!! In 24 hours I will be touching down in Orlando. I think "Im too excited to sleep" tonight. I thought that I remember us saying that we would meet but after looking through the posts, I couldn't find where. If anyone is still at home and will be checking DIS, please remind me of where we are meeting on the boat if we are meeting. I hope everyone has a great trip!!!

i think its gonna be at Vista cafe deck 4 mid ship right after the muster drill

NoodlesMom, unless it has changed since the quoted post above, it looks like it is going to be the Vista Cafe on deck 4 mid ship right after the muster drill. It was suggested we wear Mardi Gras beads so we could recognize each other.

Safe travels, and we look forward to meeting you.:cool1:

Hello my fellow cruisers! Today is the day!!!! We had an amazing 5 nights at the Beach Club and are now ready to get our cruise on!!! Can't wait to meet everyone. See ya in a few short hours! :goodvibes

Hey everyone - I didn't see many of you around the ship, but we had a GREAT time and the girls LOVED coming back to our room to find little goodies at our door!

I know that the weather didn't necessarily cooperate very much, but we still had a good time! Actually, in 8 DCL cruises, this was the only time that Castaway was rainy, but it did seem to clear up some after lunch time.

Anyway, we had a blast and hope that you did too. And, thanks to everyone that participated in the FE exchange, because that was so much fun too!

I just wanted to say Thank you for those who organized and participated in the FE.

This was our 1st Cruise and my kids had a BLAST!

The FE was icing on the cake.
While the kids couldn't wait to get back to the room at various points in the day to see if there were any new gifts, I think they had more fun giving.

My little ones had a great time roaming each deck of the ship trying to find everyone's rooms and see the different doors and FE's.

It was a lot of fun so Thank You all.

I, too, echo everyone's sentiments about how thoughtful and awesome our FE gifts were, and just how overall positive our experience with all of the DISers we met while onboard was. Thank you a million and maybe the Crystal_27 family will have the pleasure of cruising with some of you again! :goodvibes

We had a great time as well. I just hate we didn't get a chance to meet everyone from the Disboards while we were on. Kimberly, you little man was a joy to meet.

I look forward to hopefully sailing with you all again someday.

Thanks for all the wonderful FE's. My children thoroughly enjoyed that part of our trip.

The biggest downside to the trip was the length. It should have been longer on a ship like that.

Thanks for making our trip so special.

Randy & Crew

My sisters and I were on the Dream Sept. 22-25 and absolutely LOVED it! We are planning on doing it again next year and we want to participate in the FE "thing". How does it work and how do we know how many gifts to bring??

Please let us know ASAP as my one sister is "bugging" me already to get more info on this!

What you want to do first is to go to the Cruise Meets thread and look for the thread for your cruise. Then, see if someone has already started a FE list and usually they will give you the guidelines. It's a LOT of fun!!

Hello all! I hope everyone had a great time on the Dream we did but I left the ship feeling like I had not completed my cruise, I think the ship is just toooo BIG for 3 or 4 nights. I did book while onboard and can’t wait for the 2013 dates to come out we will do either a 5 night on the Dream or 7 nights on the Fantasy. I must say I did enjoy the food especially compared to the food that we had on RCC'L's Freedom of the Seas back in December.

I did have a problem while on the ship well I guess more like a pest problem. I think my bed had bed bugs I told guest services as well as showed them the bites but they said that there was no sign of them anywhere. I did get a follow up call when I got home but they weren’t all that nice about it, next time if this happens I will ask to be put in another cabin, other than that we had a great time.

We really did enjoy CoCo beach before the cruise. We did weather the rain sprinkles in Castaway Cay and had a great time swimming. Evan was so upset that the cruise was over seemed like it was over before it started. It was so great to meet all you guys.

I did have a question did you guys notice all the Fish extenders down by noodlesmom room? I didn’t have them on my FE list anywhere and was hesitant to leave anything but I did anyways didn’t want to leave anyone out. Also I hope that you guys went to guest services to get the FE gifts that you left for Lois Lane she didn’t cruise with us and the people in the cabin turned all the stuff back in. My thoughts on the Dream ,although it has all the bells and Whistles that the Wonder does not have I enjoyed the Wonder better than the Dream. Evan of course enjoyed the Dream better!

I agree with you Randy the ship is way tooo big for 3 or 4 days, I dont even feel like I had much of a vacation. I am looking to get in a 4 or 5 day on the Fascination before the end of the year maybe that will help! It was so nice to see you guys around the ship!Randy your wife is great and you better get her a watch like mine:laughing:. Guess what I dropped it on the marble floor in the Atrium and broke the face so now I have to go and buy another one!
Well you take care of that wonderful family of yours and God Bless, hey we may even end up on the same Fantasy sailing!

Just wanted to post a quick note to say thanks to everyone for the great FE gifts! My boys had a blast delivering our gifts, it was a great way to explore the ship! unfortunately we didnt make it to the meet at the Vista Cafe...my youngest son was having some "fear issues"...he is afraid of thunderstorms so during the drill he saw some clouds coming in (barely any) and he wanted to go straight back to the cabin so we missed everyone :(. It was a great trip for our family's first cruise and we can't wait to do another! Best wishes to everyone and hope to meet some of you again on a future cruise :goodvibes

Did anyone mail any postcards while on board? I went to go to post office at Castaway and it was closed when I went to customer service they gave me bahama stamps and my husband and I glued the stamps on 20 postcards and off they went. We have still to recieve them. Is this normal turn-a-round time? Do you think they are waiting for the post office in the bahama's to be open again?

Postcards from Castaway Cay can take up to a month to 6 weeks to actually arrive back here in the states! We learned that a long time ago, so after you're home, settled back into life, that postcard will finally show up (when you least expect it).
