September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

Did we ever arrange a boarding day dismeet? Sorry if I missed it.

Also-- I noticed there are a lot of girls in youngest dd's age range on board. Wow, the CMs in the Club-Lab are going to be overwhelmed.

I'm really looking forward to the first trip reports from the Fantasy, and info on menus, etc.

I also noticed that there were several girls my daughters age (she will be 8 when we sail). Is anyone interested in doing a pen pal exchange for the girls to send letters/pics leading up to the cruise so they can know each other when they get on board?

Haven't been on here in a while (have been on the facebook group posting though) and just wanted to stop by and say "hi" to everyone :goodvibes

We have paid off our cruise and are really ready for it to be September now!! :thumbsup2

I purchased some custom honeymoon t shirts with our names on them so we should be easy to spot the first day :rotfl:

Dd would like to do this. She turns 8 in May.

Maybe we can arrange something via pm.

Bummer! Maybe we can hook up with you guys (and your daughters) later in the summer. We arent telling our daughters just yet. We will at least wait until final payment, just to make sure we are all good. I have a daughter who will be 7 and one who is 4 when we cruise. We would love to connect with you later in the year though!

Absolutely you can join in once you surprise your kids. Just let us know when they area ready (we have plenty of time...unfortunately).

BOY I"M SO EXCITED JUST Got a email from DCL and the cruise is paid off. In fact i'm even getting a 237.83 refund. I cancelled the air though them too expesive. I forgot about the $50.00 unrefunable charges oh well i don't care because it could have been worst if i had waitted. They didn't say if that goes back on my debit card or do i get a check? I don't think it matters. Would you belive i work up to snow this morning yeck:scared1:

Sounds great. We sort of surprised the kids once- told them we were going on the Carnival Glory because we couldn't afford the Magic. They believed us, and then we (by accident) drove past the Disney entrance. They were so happy when we turned around and got in line for the Magic.

We haven't had any real snow since before Halloween. I didn't realize how much i missed it.

If you made payments on your debit card DCL will credit your debit card. When I had to cancel my parents half of the cruise the refund went back on my credit card. This is how I made the payments.

Now i have to make up my mind if i want the refurnd to go back on my debit card or have them appile it to My resort stay. DCL dosen't offer the royal guest rooms or the dinning plan. This really isn't a big deal because i will be staying only one night. I checked the prices of the places i wish to eat at and if i pay out of pocket i will be saving about 12 dollars. I can get a one day hopper pass and visit all four parks if i want and then attdent Mickey's halloween party:wizard::goodvibes

I bought our plane tickets today...for the trip down, at least, lol. I still don't know what we're doing after the cruise, so I can't get the return flights until I figure it out. :rolleyes1

Departure time choices are 11:20 am (which is a bit earlier than DCL recommends) and 5:50 pm (which would make for a really long day, waiting around to come home).

A) I could go with the earlier time (but it would stress me out) :scared:
B) I could go with the later time and get a dayroom at the Hyatt (not exciting)
C) I could book a night at AKL and we can come home on Sunday :earboy2:

I just can't decide. DD voted for AKL (her all time favorite resort) but I'm worried she'll be missing her daddy by that time. Hanging out at the airport Hyatt all day doesn't thrill either of us. Although I've read of many people having flights around 11:30, I'm worried that it will ruin my last day or two of the cruise because I'll be stressing out over it. It would also make for a rushed debarkation day, I think. :confused3

ETA: I don't want to rent a car. I hate to drive, especially in unfamiliar locations.

I have done an 11:30 flight and it wasn't that stressful, you just have to get up and off the boat pretty quickly. However, I have never done it with DCL transportation, so not sure what their timing is for leaving the port. We use a car service since it's cheaper for 4 of us, but not sure it would be for only 2 of you.

Good luck with your decision....we opted for a 2:30 flight home this time as the earlier flight on JetBlue is now 10:50, that would be too stressful for me. We plan on having breakfast and leaving the ship as late as we can, and then will just hang at the airport for a few hours.

We'll be doing the party as well. Not sure if my sister and brother-in-law will join us. Maybe we can do a pre-meet for everyone going?

Don't know if any of you saw this...I saw it posted on FB earlier today. On May 1st, the Disboards are opening a Disboards.com Welcome Center about a mile away from the port. More details will be announced on the podcast this week - but how exciting is that!!!!
