September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Those of you going after the cruise for the Food and Wine Festival, did you sit on hold to make reservations for any of the events today too? YIKES!

My DD booked for us to do the Party for the Senses and the South African Wine Adventure! :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

...My daughter Stacey and grand daughter are in Boston, Ma. They are on vacation and were involved in an accident. Both of them are fine, can't say the same for the car. Mike

Glad they're OK, Mike!

OK I'll play catch-up here - sadly I've only been to a handful of US States :sad2: - FL; NY; NJ; CA; AL & GA tho' I plan to see more in the future... ;)

Country-wise, I've visited Scotland; Wales; France; Italy; Germany; Austria; Switzerland; Sweden; Denmark; Belgium; Greece; Yugoslavia (as was); Bulgaria; Spain; Portugal; Cyprus; Egypt; The Gambia; Goa (India); China; USA; Canada; Barbados; The Bahamas and looking forward to adding Mexico and Grand Cayman to the list in a few short weeks... :woohoo: :cool1: :woohoo:

And now I have a question for you - is there a destination you'd really love to visit - if distance, time and money were no object??! I'd love to visit Sri Lanka - it looks an amazing country! Every year I pour over the brochures and almost book but the flights are sooo long and I chicken out...

...Here is my list of 10 things I have to do on the this cruise(Ship Activities) that I have not done before.
And here's mine - again, no particular order! :thumbsup2

1. Meet FatCat! :lmao: Actually I'm really looking forward to meeting EVERYONE!!! Never made it to a Meet before so... :woohoo:

2. Try a Spin Class! Upon reflection, I might just try watching...

3. Night Clubbin'! :dancer:

4. Go to Topsiders - never spotted it before...

5. See the shows - all of 'em... pirate:

6. Enjoy champagne and strawberries in our room... :cloud9:

7. Renew our Vows...

8. Share Palos with my DH... :flower3:

9. Catch some rays on our verandah... :beach:

10. Visit the art auction... :artist:

Of course, this list is liable to change as other magical activities come to mind...

I would have to say I want to see one of the Great Natural Wonders of the World and goto Australia and see the Great Barrier Reef. The Finding Nemo ride at Epcot is pretty darn close but I want to be the judge for myself.

I'm having big problems uploading any photos to Photobucket, so here's an experimental Imageshack upload...

The view down to the sea from our bedroom balcony in Cancelada...

View through the bedroom windows...

Yet another view from our townhouse bedroom...

A view across the valley at Ronda, a typical 'pueblo blanco' set in the mountains - I'm rather proud of this one...

I love the way the buildings hug the mountain...

And finally, a rare sighting of the shy and elusive Lesser Spotted Karen in her natural habitat - the local bar!

Seeing France and Germany is on the top but I want to add Tahiti.
The next state would be Hawaii.. Would love to paddle with one of the teams there.

Karen, those pictures are great! Spain is one country that I haven't been too yet. We never made it further than France. And I hate to say it, but we never crossed the Channel either. So I think that going to the UK would be one of my top picks. I would love to tour England, Scotland, and Ireland. I also would like to visit Hawaii. I guess that I am not too adventurous.

It was 100 degrees F here in Nashville, 38 degrees C. Hot, hot, hot. Mike

Karen, your photos have made me add Spain to my list of places to visit before I die!!! They are gorgeous!

My dream vacations:

1. Greece
2. Italy
3. Australia again (only made it to Sydney and surrounding areas on the first visit)

It has been unbearably hot here in NC too....it was 101 Sunday and close to 100 yesterday and today. The humidity is so high that it makes the air thick. I have been pouring sweat just going outside to water the potted plants...YUCK!

thanks everyone. my mother passed this afternoon. we had to remove the ventilator but she went peaceful. all the family got to be there holding her hand and arms as she took her last breath.

the viewing will be friday and funeral service on saturday. most likely i will be up here thru next week. will still have limited computer access.
