I hope sooooo much that Big Thunder doesn't go down until next year

Its Halloween and the Holidays, take the ride down during the slower season take it down in the second week of January and can easily have it good to go before spring break
It will be interesting to see if Incredicoaster opens back up friday. If it doesn't, that means we are looking at least two month plus shutdown. And since BTMRR might be going through a similar refurb, it would be really short sighted to have that very popular attraction closed during most of Halloween/Holiday season.

Normally Disney does not work on much during the end of the year because that is when it is busiest now

So here is hoping but also considering how they let Matters, Soarin and GOTG all go down to lower capacities at the same time and now Two of the busiest rides going down when OBB is happening.....who knows what they are thinking

Pretty sure Big Thunder was down last year during Thanksgiving week and before and after that for some time. Don't remember how long that refurb was, but Disney hasn't been shy about having at least one or two big rides down even during peak times.

Last time it was need

This time its not needed, but for the most part they try to not have things closed and it benefits no one to close a ride when its not needed...yes its going to help the ride stay up more but do it after the peak season or thats what I'm hoping and by the likes on my post most fans agree

Maybe that crowds have been huge during that time for years now, so there are plenty of folks willing to step in for every one that bows out? (I may be a bit bitter since we'll be there over labor day when all these closures are happening).

The length of the Incredicoaster refurb will be informative. Rumors are the refurb is to resolve the number of length of emergency stops so it goes down less and for shorter times. The same tech will then be brought to Big Thunder.

I always say just to assume at least 1-2 major rides will be closed all year now. They are not shy about refurbs any time of year. BUT in DL there are also more attractions than 5 years ago (MMRR, ROTR, MFSR).

Incredicoaster still on refurb list for 9/5. Earlier rumors were that BTMRR's planned refurb was going to be 2-3 months. Given that they are reworking the e-stop system on both attractions, maybe Incredicoaster will be down through October?

BT also has water/pipe refurbishments to fix plus the e-stop system so I think BT will be longer time wise. I am surprised Icoaster is taking this long given that the Oogie Boogie party nights will be lacking this major attraction. I do not Disney planned this out as best as they could have.

This is interesting, and maybe just a glitch on the calendar.. Incredicoaster is NOT on the refurb calendar for 8/15 and reappears on 9/7 which is a Sunday and make me lean towards it being a mistake rather than legit.

Yes that is why I am holding off posting it!
