September 2014 Discount Watch!

Looks like Mousesavers is posting info about a discount: http://www.mousesavers.com/walt-dis...world-vacation-package-discounts/#memorymaker
It would cover the month of September. I haven't decided if I should go for it or wait and see if higher discount may be available in a few months! It seems like you have to go through a travel agent and not through Disney directly, but I could be wrong.

What a terrible "discount". I ran the numbers, and the Disney website seems a little deceptive at first.

8 nights pop century regular room, 6 days park tickets.. full price $2159
8 nights pop century 6 days park tickets, w/discount $2108!!!!

Sure you get the memory maker add on.. $150 value ( i wasn't planning on buying anyways), and you do save over $50 on the room. But come on, that hardly counts as a discount. Of course your mileage may vary and maybe a mod or higher room would yield more savings.

I think this is Disney's way to get us to jump off the fence and book. If enough of us fall for this, they will adjust down the free dining offer.

I took the bait! But I had a CL WL room booked already for 9/11-14. It ended up saving me $650!!! For 3 nights. Free dining isn't much of a deal for me since it is just 2 of us in the room. I could of waited to see if there was a RO discount for fall for 30% (which would only be an extra 5%) but the spring RO discount this year for WL was only 20%, so 25% now seemed like a good deal to me! I guess it is a bargain depending on how long you stay and at which resort. Pixie dust for all who are holding out for free dining!

I have a PIN right now that is saving us $300 on a Cars suite for six nights but I think we'd rather have free dining because I KNOW we will spend more than $300 on food! I have to book with my PIN by next weekend and then hold my breath and wait for a better deal to come out.

We also went in September 2012 and we have a trip booked for September 2014. Hoping for FD. Won't be a deal breaker though. Would be nice to save some money.:yay:

oh yeah we're going regardless so FD is a bonus! i mean we've already booked and everything but i know i will get up early the day FD comes out if it does. that's what I did last time. :thumbsup2

We have always gone in December, going in September this year (and hoping for free dining:goodvibes). We are used to nice days and cool nights with no rain and very light crowds since we go in early December. Our DGS school schedule won't allow a December trip this year so we have scheduled September 25-Oct 1. What should we prepare for the weather and the crowds?

We booked CBR with a RO discount for now from 9/20-9/27. Add to this list who are waiting for a FD offer :)

Is that RO discount a pin code or general RO? Would love to book that for 9/24 for a few nights!! If it's general RO could you share where you found the code?
Thanks :)

we are going for a week beginnign of september; we are staying off site, but maybe can catch a discount on photopass!

Count me in for discount watch! Would love free dining (my oldest is a Disney adult, so that costs us big time when he still eats off the kids menu)! If no fd, then I'm going to skip the DDP and try putting that money on a gift card and budgeting that way. We'll see. Hoping for the last week of September, or possibly 27-oct 4.

For what it's worth, I called Reservations today inquiring about any pins for my family (there were none:confused:) and after speaking with the CM, she informed me that they were all advised back in early January that they would all be working mandatory overtime in mid-March. Although she obviously could not confirm anything, she made it seem likely that a discount offer is forthcoming at that time; hopefully free dining!

They released EPCOT F&W festival dates this morning. They added a week in the middle of September. (It is starting Sept 13) Do we think this will affect Free Dining dates?

I am so sorry! I mis-remembered the information. It is still starting a week early. In the past it didn't start until the last weekend in September. Free Dining would go until the Wed or Thurs of that week and F&W would start that weekend.

No need to appologize, I just thought maybe I missed something.:goodvibes Oh gosh, I sure hope it doesn't effect FD. We are hoping for a Sept 24/25 thru Oct 1 trip this year and I was sure hoping for FD.
I did look at the historical data for Disney promo's
http://www.mousesavers.com/historical-information-on-walt-disney-world-resort-discounts/

In 2011 free dining was offered 8/19- 9/29 then offered again 10/1- 12/17. F&W festival was 9/30 thru 11/13.
In 2012 free dining was offered 8/25-9/29 then extended to include 9/30-12/13. F&W festival was 9/28 thru 11/12.
In 2013 free dining was offered 9/2 thru 9/25 and then offered again 9/29 thru 12/22. F&W festival was 9/27 thru 11/11.

Soooo hopefully with alot of :tink:pixie dust, our check in date will fall within the free dining offer dates.

Hoping for FD for early Sept!:thumbsup2

Does anyone know if the past FD offers require you to book both room and tickets thru Disney to get FD?

I'm was thinking about doing the Ebates/Orbtiz 20% cashback on tickets for a savings around $200. We would spend more then this on food so it might be smarter to wait...

thanks!

I am new here and hoping for FD too! My trip is early Sept. I heard that we will know more in March! Waiting ............
