September 2014 car rental watch

Has anyone experienced E Z rent a car at the MCO airport? I found the lowest rate there.

We also have a car booked through EZ, the lowest rate so far by far. Can't speak for them though, at least not yet. I do keep checking other rates through the majors and will rebook if something better comes up.

One word of caution on Budget. They don't have a great reputation at MCO, long lines at the rental counter is the biggest complaint. Apparently there is a reason they are the cheapest option fairly often. If you can get Alamo or National for only a little bit more, I would go that way instead.

I had a terrible experience with Budget at MCO and will never rent from them again. In addition to the long line (45 minutes) they gave us a car that shook so badly above 45 MPH that it felt like the wheel was going to fall off. We had to take time out of our vacation to exchange the car at a Downtown Disney hotel. When we returned the car to the airport they tried to charge us $75 extra dollars and the process of getting that straightened out almost caused us to miss our flight.

Got a minivan with Alamo from 9/13 to 9/22 today using 'VISA' as my contract ID, logged in as an Insider, and the Costco $30 coupon. Total out the door was $292.

I found it by googling "Visa Alamo Discount" and it was the first link. It prepopulates the code in as "VISA", but that is not the code.

Thanks. I got the "Visa" to populate by Googling. It was close to the best rate so far with Alamo, but Costco is still a little cheaper.

I was wondering if anybody can help me out with a code or suggestion.

Car rental at Orlando International MCO:
Pick up date 8/21/14 - 10:00am
Retuning date 9/4/14 - 6:00am

Flexible on car category, in fact looking for the cheapest option.

What I got so far:
Thrifty, economy car for $460.76 rate code RCUW9
Dollar (via Expedia) economy car for $ 482.32
Dollar (Looks best deal so far) premium car for $481.92 ( promo code AU4FL)
Alamo (via Costco) economy car for $ 465 with 2nd driver included

Thanks!

$407 from Hertz

Select the car category:
Our Choice, EXAR
(A6) Our Choice or similar

The CDP is from USAA, so a 2nd driver is included.

VISA doesn't appear to be a valid Contract ID?

Sorry. I had googled the visa and alamo discount and used the link I found. I believe that 7015504 is the code. It had prepopulated the code for me, but just said VISA on the booking screen.

$257 for minivan 9/27-10/5 thru Firefly. I read they are Avis sister company and seem to have ok reviews.

Actually they are owned by Hertz.
Nice thing is that you can use any Hertz discount codes on the Firefly website.

Looks like prices for our dates is starting to inch back up. Only a few dollars, but no longer trending downward. I was hoping they would go lower but we got two 9 day rentals for just a tad under $200 each. Two full size cars are cheaper than a minivan. $400 vs $680. Even with double mileage with two vehicles, we won't spend an extra $280 on gas. Will continue to watch prices of course.

You are right, I notice the same thing, the best deal I got so far was today around 1PM EST, a Dollar intermediate car, 14 days for $225
Same car now is $237 which still a good deal but Dollar @ Orlando MCO has a lot of bad reviews.
Should I pick instead a Enterprise intermediate same period for $263 or Hertz for $295?? What you folks think?

My plan was i wanted to pay no more than $150 for a car for 9 days for September...after looking and researching, got a compact car for $140 total including taxes, from Alamo which is better than my expectations...and i can bypass the counter and kiosk right to the car into the airport car rental parking lot!! :cool1:

One question-- Tolls from airport to WDW still have cash tolls right?
