Oh my goodness...I just plugged in 9/13 - 9/20 just to see what rates are looking like further into september....$209 for a minivan! That is unheard of. Hope someone can snap up those good deals.

I need this deal! Was this on the Costco website?? Thanks!

Yes. Rates for minivans are still super low for most September dates. Not mine. :headache:

Our dates came down to $325 for a minivan, but we have a standard upgraded to a full size for $200. Even with paying for one of us to do Disney transfer, its only $270. I'm going to be watching this closely. If they are already coming down this low, I wonder how low they will get :goodvibes

Costco members check your rates! We just got a minivan from Enterprise for $287 for 9/11-9/21!

Mine is still $500+ :(
Am I doing something wrong? I'm checking on costco website- is this where you found that price? Am I able to add any discount codes? Do certain pickup/drop off times get better rates? Sorry if I sound whiny:)
Thanks!

Yeah, Costco rates have not been good for my dates either (8/30-9/9). I had a decent deal on a Premium car through Budget, but now my MIL changed her mind and wants to come with on our trip (which I am actually happy about!) but now we NEED a minivan. I also had a back-up National reservation (I'm Emerald Exec) and I was going to HOPE for a minivan or full size SUV on the Emerald or Emerald Exec aisle...but now that's out the window because we'd be up poop creek with 6 passengers if a 7 passenger vehicle wasn't in the aisle.

Right now a minivan for our dates is $608 on Costco. I get priceline/hotwire to give me a rate of about $450. I think for now I'm going to plan on bidding on Priceline and hope I can get one for 10 days under $400.

Yes, dates and times make all the difference!
Are you a Costco member? If not, you cannot rent with Costco.
If you a, just play with your pickup and drop times. That can make significant changes in the price sometimes.

Months back, I was able to get a week rental for a minivan thru Budget for $189!!
But I had to plug in just the right times to get it. Altering by half an hour totally jacked the price up.

Post your dates and times, and maybe someone can help you search for better rates.
If not, just keep trying.
I am diligent with searching. I check rates multiple times each day.
Rates can drop for just a short amount of time, then shoot back up.
Kind of a "you snooze, you lose" scenario!

Thanks I will keep playing with the times:)
If anyone gets bored and wants to see if they can get a better rate, here is info.
I am a Costco member and our dates are 9/19-9/27 or 9/28. We are driving from Knoxville, TN, so I want to pick van up day before we leave and then we leave FL on 27th, but I have been using 28th as return date so we don't have to rush to get it back.we could get it back later on 27th if the savings was worth it.
Thanks everyone for all your tips. This is last part of trip to plan and I would really like to save some $$.

Just rechecked Budget's website and our price just dropped!

Sept 20-27th Intermediate Car

One word of caution on Budget. They don't have a great reputation at MCO, long lines at the rental counter is the biggest complaint. Apparently there is a reason they are the cheapest option fairly often. If you can get Alamo or National for only a little bit more, I would go that way instead.

There's the reason you aren't seeing the kind of prices people are posting.
You are renting from home, not in Florida.
Pricing is different at all locations.

If I put in my dates to rent from our local rental companies, my prices are crazy high!
Orlando deals in a lot more rentals and has a lot of competition.
Here, we have only the big companies like Alamo, enterprise, budget, national, hertz, so they don't need to throw deals around like they do in Florida.

Keep checking your price, and check it often.
Prices fluctuate a lot!
If I notice anything, I'll be sure to post.
Good luck!

I did had the long wait once but the. I learned if you get register on their Rapid... (Frequent user) they have a separate line for such members and it is a lot faster. Also, the lines will depend on the time of the day.

We do the RapidRez and go straight to the parking garage and have not experienced long waits before but thanks for the information - I would hate for someone to get caught up in a long rental car line, for some reason, those are the worst!

I only used Budget once at MCO, but I actually timed the line and it was just at 14 minutes as we were walking to the garage after going through all the paperwork and check in. So, even though the line looked long, I thought it moved fairly quickly.

Has anyone experienced E Z rent a car at the MCO airport? I found the lowest rate there.
