September 2011 - The Planning Has Started!!!

I made the spiral Mickey head shirts too. First time was on light blue, then on dark blue. Used a Clorox gel pen both times. Very easy to use and it doesn't run. Light blue shirts turned out nice, but not a big contrast. Dark blue shirts bleached a pinkish color. I liked it, DH not so much. My advice is to angle your Mickey head so that you are not placing ears on your female parts. ;)

:laughing:I'm glad you mentioned that! :rotfl:

Where do I find the schedules for hours on the dates we'll be there? I have managed to score an 8:05 ADR at CP during one day of our stay. The rest of that week is blacked out until at least 9 am. It has looked like that since our 180th day. So, now I'm worried that I may have a date with morning EMH, or some sort of event that may cause us problems. So I can get some peace of mind, can someone PLEASE tell me where to find that schedule?:yay: TIA, I love this group!

www.wdwinfo.com - Under Walt Disney World, click on theme park hours/fireworks and you'll find the published park hours. You didn't mention the dates for your visit but the published hours can be located here. I hope this helps. Happy Planning

Has anyone here ever tried Kringla Bakeri? Thinking of packing a picnic dinner our Epcot night and just buying snacks or dessert and that menu looks good popcorn::

Has anyone done the Keys to the Kingdom tour or any other tour offer at WDW? I'm looking for something different and fun to do on our trip. It's only my DH and I going on this trip:cloud9:.
I have us going to the Captain's Grille for our anniverary. Has anyone dined there? Is it appropriate for an anniversary dinner?
I love all the pictures everyone is posting and all the creative ideas being tossed around. Reading this thread is getting me very excited for my trip.

We have done the Behind Seeds tour and the Seas Tour at Epcot! One two different trips. The Behind Seeds tour took a little over and hour, and I love the greenhouses, so I found it very worth the time and money. My boyfriend loved the Seas tour way more, but they really are two different things. The Seas is 2 1/2 to 3 hours, and you get to snuba in the aquarium! It was truly magical! It is priced accordingly...but overall just an amazing experience, that we still talk about all the time and would jump at doing it again!

"duplicating minds" :rotfl: I like that!

It was super easy & cheap!!

- you need a shirt (cost me $4 CAN at Walmart)
- clorox bleach pen (I've heard Wal-Mart has them - I found it at a grocery store here - maybe $4?)
- regular liquid bleach
- mist style spray bottle
- a MMH JPG from the creative design board (I can upload a pic here if you'd like)
- cardboard to go between the front & back of the shirt

Take the MMH image and increase it to 10" in whatever program you use (I used WordPerfect). Print it out. I used double-sided adhesive to tape it down on cardboard and then cut out the MMH.

Put cardboard between the front & back of the shirt. Make sure the entire back of the shirt is protected. I forgot about the small area by the label and got bleach there. So there is a small bit of discoloring showing on the back of the shirt up by the neck.

Then just spray bleach around the MMH template. Leave the template there!

Now use the clorox bleach pen to write a name, or whatever you want.

I let the bleach sit for 10 minutes. Then removed the template & the cardboard layer, and rinsed & rinsed the bleach off the front of the shirt. I just supported the shirt underneath with one hand, and gently rubbed the bleach off with my other hand - under cold water the whole time. I was afraid the bleach would run, but it didn't!!

If doing more than 1 shirt, after you rinse the shirt, let the first shirt sit in a sink full of water while designing the second shirt.

Then I threw them both in the washer on cold. And then hung to dry.

Both shirts are dry now, and the spirals show up better on my daughter's. I'm going to take a photo of it, and then re-apply the bleach using the bleach pen. After I finish my tea that is. It's at the right hotness! :surfweb:

Ohh, here's a link to the clorox bleach pen:

LOVE YOUR SHIRTS! They look great! Can't wait to try these for my boyfriend's nieces and nephews!
LOVE the dresses too! I wish I had a sewing machine and the patience to learn more about sewing (mom taught me when I was younger but haven't done it in 20 years). Because those would be awesome as cheap sun dresses or tunics with some jeans or leggings! Way to go ladies!

Us not judge----Ha "Hey everyone did you see that girl over there who doesn't know the Disney schedule?":rotfl: So just kidding! :) Don't you love having the Dis where we all get excited cause we finally found someone who understands our Disney Love--obsession:rotfl2:
I went on here http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm and then clicked Sept hours. Hope this helps you!!:):):)

Bwahahaha, see, this is EXACTLY why I asked this group, because everybody seems to get that I can't get over my need for a Disney fix!:rotfl: Thanks fo everybody who responded, at least I'm not flying blind when they start posting hours for MNSSHP.

Here's the MMH spirals on my daughter's shirt. After it dried, I re-applied the bleach and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then washed off the bleach and threw in the washer. This is how it looked this morning. Both kids wore their shirts to school today.

Great Job. Very cute.

Not bad. I think it would have shown up better on a darker shirt, or if I had let the bleach sit longer. In any case, my DD is happy with it! :goodvibes

Yeeeahhh, I'm not even going to try to play catch up. I think you guys were below 200 before I left. Geez!

:rotfl2:

Our cruise was fantabulous!!! I look forward to our next one since it will probably be in 2012 and our youngest will be old enough to go to the kids' club. We had to entertain a toddler the whole time which was like a full time job, but she absolutely loved the violinist that played every night, so it was a nice break each night.

Just about 5 months until our trip! Woot!

I did get told today by my boss that I'm not allowed to take vacations anymore because nothing gets done when I'm not here. It's a mix of nobody knowing how to do my job and me having too many duties that have to get done every day. Too bad! I'm outta here in September!

Glad you enjoyed your trip.

Wish me luck today as I need to call and see if I can get PL reservations again. I cancled ours beacuse the time wasn't working for us. But we may just not do it on MNSSHP night and just do it during a regular MK day.

So, we have decided to take the Autotrain to Disney (well to Sanford , FL).
Neither one of us want to fly and with the price of gas, heaven only knows how much it will be in September, so the train it is. It will cost about $830 for the three of us (which is about what it would cost to fly) and we can take our vehicle (with what we WANT to take) with us. It will be an adventure that's for sure. We'll drive about 7 hours to Virginia and the train will leave at 4 p.m. and arrive Sanford at 9:30 a.m. the next morning. Train tickets include dinner, continental breakfast, and unlimited hot beverages. Any of you ever done this before?

Good Luck! Heres hoping you manage to get some Pixie Dust!! I just got off the phone with Disney. I was hoping to downgrade our hotel using our PIN since airfare is getting crazy for our return flights. No such luck though! Heres hoping they open up some discounts for September so I can cut costs somewhere :confused3

hmmmmmm would you give up Contemporary Tower Theme Park view to take your SIL with you or just take her along the next time???

Depends how much u like her:rotfl2: Ok so where would you stay then? I would love to stay at the Contemporary so I don't know...I am the wrong person to answer...I like my SIL but I LOVE everything Disney:rotfl:

The craftiness(is that a word)? of you guys on this thread totally amazes me, love the shirts and that dress with matching doll dress is adorable. I am even thinking of picking up those bleach pens(saw them at KMart) and trying to come up with a design for MNSSHP, you all have inspired me

Hope you got the PL reservations you wanted!:wizard: Since you're going to be doing it on a regular MK day maybe your kids can be in the pirate brigade(parade) they do. It looks so cute! I'm kind of bummed that because we're doing PL on MNSSHP my girls won't have the opportunity to be in the parade. Oh well, there's always next time I guess ;)

Well thats just it, after the next maybe two(?) trips we wont be able to stay there b/c we'll be a family of six :sad1:

SO, if we give it up now, we may never get back to that resort..... and I'm pretty sure we're going back in 2012 or 2013 anyways, which would give her time to save for her portion bc I just can't pay for her whole trip ya know??

Also we're probably buying into DVC which would totally negate her lodging fees if she went next time..... At least she's ok with not going this time... but I think we will plan on taking her next time... if she doesn't go with us she will probably never go.....

Depends on which SIL. *Hey you - if you're lurking here - I'd switch for you with or without my brother and my adorable nephews :lovestruc I would do it in a hearbeat!*

Kelly Hope you get your PL ressie. I just booked BBB for my 7yr old. She will love it. Hair wrapping for older DD if she wants!!

Working on another shirt. Having trouble with the needle thread cathing the bobbit(I think that's what it's called) so I am annoyed cause I could have the darn thing done if the crazy machine would cooperate. ARRGGGHHHH

everyone doing well out there?? lol
