SO, I know this probably sounds WHACKY CRAZY but I am printing out my bank statements from the last time we went to WDW to add up how much we spent and what we can 'not spend' this trip..... like I think we bought a TON of taffy and I threw it out b/c we NEVER ate it..... and we won't be spending the $150 on costumes for MNSSHP this time either...... so is this crazy or a good idea?? LOL

I think it's a great idea! In fact, just recently I came across our... shoot, what is it called? The "final" print-out you get when you check-out of your resort? Anyways, I thought I lost it but found I had put it in a "safe" place. :rotfl: I plan to check it over to see just how much we charged to our KTTW and just what all we purchased again.

This sounds like a great idea! it's so fun to be in WDW and spend that everything looks good and you want to buy it! If you know what you 'wasted' money on last year it will help you not repeat that. On our first trip we purchased souvenirs for 16 people back home, and spent 20-30 each! When I added that up when we got back I was just sick! On our next trip we will be buying for just a couple of people and spending wayyyy less than 30 dollars each. Especially since most of the people didn't seem to care they were getting a souvenir anyway:confused3

I think you guys are being VERY smart about going back through and seeing what you bought. I think it will show you a lot of great info about your Disney spending habits.

I LOVE this idea!

I must be the only night owl (I work nights :cool1: ) You ladies chat all day while I'm sleeping and then I log on and have to catch up on 5 pages. Then I sit here at 3am talking to myself! :rotfl2:

Well can't be any worse then when I am sitting here in my Living Room and DH is watching TV and I let out a chuckle:rotfl: He's like "What's so funny?" and I say "oh nothing" :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I've been thinking about doing the pony rides at Ft Wilderness on our arrival day for my preschooler! :goodvibes

I hear that Yak & Yeti CS is delicious!

I think we are going to choose this as one of our picks. :)

I love Columbia Harbour House, Flametree BBQ, WPE and Kringla Bakery for CS. We did enjoy the Yak and Yeti CS, but there is no shade and in September it was just too hot. If we go there again I would take my lunch over to the little seating area across from Flights of Wonder, there was shade, a nice waterview and a nice view of the Tree of Life.

I have been wanting to try FT BBQ for years now but never went out of my way to find it. This year I will for sure. What do they have at Kringla B. besides dessert? Guess I will have to check that out.:)

Good Morning September friends!

My family enjoys Casey's (they love to sit on the bleachers and watch the movie screen while eating corn dog nuggets and cracker jack), we also really like Columbia Harbor House ( a nice change of pace for CS), Sunshine Seasons in the Land, the kids enjoy Pizza Planet at DHS, DH and I like the Mexico CS, Flame tree. My girls also love sitting by the window in Pinocchio's Village Haus and watching the boats from It's a small world.:)

Horseback riding and pony rides sound like so much fun! We just never seem to make the time to make it to FW :guilty:, hopefully someday! I always wanted to take the kids to the Chip and Dale campfire/movie. I am glad that they do have movies at the beach and tons of activities at the BC so we're looking forward to enjoying some of those activites!

I love Sunshine Season! That is always a must eat. Never done Pizza Planet yet but I do want to try it this year. My husband will be anti-pizza I know, we have it a lot at home but he will go for the kids...I think

The one CS we cannot miss each visit is FlameTree! We acutally have eaten there 2 time each visit.

Thanks for the input on my ADR. I am very excited about them. I have done LeCellar and WPC, but none of the others.

I will make it there this year! :goodvibes

DH and DS did the early morning horseback ride the second time we stayed at WL, it was August and we wanted to do the horseback ride before it got too hot. They did love it, I am sure your daughter is going to love it too

Oh I didn't think about the heat. I hope its not too hot. We have a ressi at 10. But am from SC so I think we may be able to handle it. I was thinking of cooking my hubby an all-star breakfast (as he would say) :rotfl: that morning so I can keep him out of the grumpy zone. ;)

Our group is planning on going MNSSHP on 9/27 as well. Seems like there will be a few of us on that date!!!

One more...I'm just full of questions today, Lol

Who plans on attending MNSSHP? What day? Dining plans? Costumes?

I know the official dates haven's been released yet, but based on the current hours we're planning for the party on Friday September 16th. I made reservations for both my girls for Pirate's League at 3 pm, dinner at the Plaza at 4:20 PM, which will allow us to be free by 6:00 pm to get in line for a pic, etc. Last year we got in line at 6:00 for the seven dwarves and were one of the first few families at 7:00 and it worked out well. It was the best picture and we used it as our Christmas card last year :santa:

DH and I will most likely not be dressed up unless it's a very mild pirate theme to go with the girls. The heat and humidity in September is usually sweltering so none of us want to be dressed too warmly!

So, how about you?

I'm hoping they have it on Tues. Sept. 20th. and that since it's a Tuesday it's a lil less busy. (fingers crossed) We are planning on doing Island of Adventure that day for the WWHOP and then doin MNSSHP that night. No reservations just going to do CS at MK when we are hungry. DD wants to dress like the Corpse Bride....she is 13 so Tim Burton movies are her thing at the moment. :scared1:

I was so hoping to be able to spend some time here this afternoon, but that didn't happen.

In response to looking at old bank statements: I don't do old bank statements. I think I have every receipt we've ever had at WDW saved. Not just the meal ones...everything. Even when we were on the dining plan, we'd write down what the total was (since it's not usually on the receipt).

I have them all split up by year and we use those in order to have a basic budget for food and souvenirs. Most of the ones from 2007 and older are really faded so it's hard to see what is on them.

I'm such a nerd!!!!

I went last year on a tuesday, I believe I went on the 21st so pretty much the same night youre planning on going this year. It was empty! The characters had a bit of a wait depending on who they were, but the rides were all walk on. I mean you get off the ride and then get right back on with zero wait. It was awesome :cool1: Im hoping to have the same luck this year as well!!

What would be one CS you would not want to miss? Just wondering what others would say. I really want to try Yak & Yeti cs. I loved the ts one so I hope the cs would be great too.
We did Yak & Yeti CS last March and it was ok. It was basic Chinese fare, the TS looks better IMO.

Glad I didn't have to resurrect a topic from 4 pages ago to respond...

We also did the Y&Y CS and TS last September.... the TS was AWESOME, but after doing the CS earlier that day I was surprised... the CS was only
so-so. There were no side dishes with the entrees... just rice! We used a seperate snack credit to get egg rolls, but didn't care for them that much.

On a side note, we sat at the tables nearest the counter. These tables were behind one of the shops and the roof had a slight over-hang over the table, giving some shade. We found ourselves surrounded by birds... ducks and blackbirds. We did a NO-NO, but it comes naturally... we fed the birds! Our food had some rather large carrot sticks in them and at first the birds liked them, but they got tired of them and the were left on the ground. One of the blackbirds picked up one of these carrots and flew up to the over-hang. Next thing I know the carrot dropped on DMs head! She never saw what happened and thought that I had thrown it at her.... it was soo funny!

Just contacted Brian @ the Contemporary about my DHs cake!! wahoo!!

What theme is your cake? I love the cakes, but can't think of an excuse to get one!

I have been wanting to try FT BBQ for years now but never went out of my way to find it. This year I will for sure. What do they have at Kringla B. besides dessert? Guess I will have to check that out.:)

They have a half sandwich/soup meal that was great. Plus I have to have Schoolbread several times!

I was so hoping to be able to spend some time here this afternoon, but that didn't happen.

I have all my receipts too, at least since we started taking the kids. Some are really starting to fade. I also write down the total on the dining plan, even for cs.

Yes, I fly my freak flag proudly!:rotfl2:
