September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

I love that everyone is posting what they're going to do first, and now in each park, even better!

Magic Kingdom- I actually am sitting here trying to wrap my head around being really in the Magic Kingdom and I can't. I get emotional! I know that I'm going to need tissues as we walk in and I see the castle down Main Street. We plan on hitting MK on our arrival night. Before our ADR at Chef Mickey's we will just go to the Castle and on Main Street. We'll buy the boys' Mickey ears. If we have time, we'll head into Tomorrowland and ride Buzz first.

Our last trip was DH and DD(2)'s first trip, and I read somewhere to take a pic of your kids as they see the castle for the first time--maybe DH should do that for you! I'm actually getting teary imagining you! Actually, that is one of my favorite pics from that trip. I ran ahead to just where you could see the castle and waited until they came into view and she could see it.

Our first night was supposed to be just dinner at Boma, but we added the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert party also b/c I *really* wanted to do it and it was the only night we could fit it in. I am excited to be in MK the first night, but I don't know if we'll do any rides.

Oh my, now that picture has me crying! Geez, that is one adorable picture! I'll have DH run ahead and take a picture of all three of us. Dang these water works. 15 more days!!!!

your picture reminded me of my own baby girl's first trip to DW - this was in Epcot... was a special moment for my mom and her first grandchild

Go to DTD for lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express
Go back to Pop for a nap
Go to MK to see the castle and get Mickey ears

Animal Kingdom- We have an early ADR at Tusker House. Once we're done there, we will head straight for the safari. That is actually the attraction I'm most excited for.

Hollywood Studios- No doubt, Toy Story Mania will be first. I'm going to head to get in the queue and DH will go get a Fastpass.

Epcot-
We are doing Epcot over two days with doing World Showcase the first day and Future World the second day. So, we'll probably be doing some ride in WS first... maybe Kim Possible? As for FW, I'd say Test Track since DS4 is super excited about that one.

You will get emotional when you get to MK for sure! On our first trip as adults when we got out at the MK DH looked at me as asked...are you really crying!!
We are doing TH our first morning and as soon as the park opens it is off to the safari also!

Cute Cute pictures!!!

Our firsts for each park:
MK-Either Dumbo or Peter Pan (probably Dumbo)
Epcot-Sorin'
HS-I will say RR, no wait TT, no wait RR, heck I really don't know for sure!
AK-Safari

EEEEEKKKKK I am so excited!!!

You may feel a bit rushed. You're going to be tired from traveling and excitement so that's kind of a lot to do. Our first day we are checking in, going to MK for lunch and to see the parade, then back to the poly for dinner and spend the rest of the night just hanging around and relaxing so we can get an early start the next day.

I cancelled BOMA on 9/8. I made ADR for Kona Cafe at 8pm on 9/8.

We want to see Wishes from the Poly beach. So instead of getting a cab to AKL for BOMA, then take bus to MK, then monorail at Poly, we will cut out the middle, and just go straight to MK, take the monorail or boat to Poly and eat dinner and then watch Wishes from Poly beach, then take monorail back to MK for the bus to POP.

I hope I am making the right choice, but I really want to see Wishes and it is the only night playing while we are there due to Night of Joy.

BTW, the banana creme brulee at Kona looks DIVINE!!!

I wish we would have known these sorts of things before we booked our flights. I didn't research enough. With how much we will end up paying for these AitTran tickets we should have just gone with the SW! Between the baggage fees and the seat fees, these were not cheap tickets. Plus we had already paid a bit more to go out of the very small airport so we didn't have to deal with all the craziness of flying out of a big airport. :confused3

Think about the stress of a bigger airport though especially with it being your first time flying with your boys. Plus bigger often equals longer waits in security and even on the concourse because they have more air traffic as well. Sometimes paying extra is worth the peace of mind! I will agree I wish more airlines were like SW and didn't charge for all baggage!!

Lol. just realized I'm answering all of your posts LHarper! Hope you don't think I"m picking on you! Wanted to point out Kim Possible wasn't a ride in Epcot, and I guess to everyone to be careful about sending one person for a fastpass and then have them meet up in line with you. Some people consider it cutting and I have read some not so nice comments made on these boards in reference to it. I would hate for your magical vacation be marred by others who have decided to take a stance against line cutting! EEK!

Take into consideration how tired you and your husband are going to be, and your boys and maybe eat lunch at your resort that first day and take a nap. They are going to have a lot to take in,,just from the plane and bus ride! Also be flexible that if you do get there with this plan that it may not work out and be willing to change it! No need to have everyone burned out from the travel that it could really start to effect the rest of your trip! Otherwise looks great!

Anyone else love these commercials while watching tv at Disney?
http://www.appliancedirect.com/

My boyfriend and I think they are hilarious-partly because we both have degrees in broadcasting and he currently works producing local tv commercials!

We will be descending into Orlando at this time in 25 days! :goodvibes

They were funny the first 5 times you watch them. But they tend to run CONSTANTLY and get annoying. Thank goodness for the remote!! ;)

That company is known for their advertising and not the appliances!! :lmao:

Here is todays countdown drawing....

You are so talented! I can't draw a straight line without a ruler.:rotfl: Thanks for sharing and please keep them coming!:goodvibes

I would maybe just do a tour of the resort and familiarize yourself, then grab lunch at the food court (I hear it's one of the best) and do the nap thing, then head on over to MK. I do love Wolfgang Puck Express though...:goodvibes

I think that is an awesome idea! You can't go wrong with Kona and it works in your plans so much better. I love Boma, but this new plan makes tons of sense! Enjoy!:thumbsup2

What a great idea for a picture! How precious is the look on her face?!:lovestruc Thanks so much for sharing.

It was weird here....the whole building shook..it only lasted for about 20 seconds, but it sure felt like a lot longer..

We felt it here in MD too. Lots of rumbling and shaking. We also had one here last summer. Weird. Now they are saying that Irene might take a track that will bring it around our parts as a category 1. Weird weather for us.

Smile4Me- Haha... I must just be posting too much today. You made some very good points. DH and I decided to not go to DTD since we'll be tired and we can just buy our Mickey ears in MK. I thought we'd have to buy them in DTD. We're just going to take it easy and have lunch at Everything Pop and then nap.

What a cute picture!

Our favorite "first look" picture is when we drive in and see the arches. No, not the golden ones, the Mickey ones!!

ShhhQ: that drawing is amazing! You are so talented! Thanks for sharing!

Love all the cute pictures! Such magical moments when you/kids see the castle for the first time! I remember ours vividly! :cloud9:

Once we get to Pop we'll eat lunch and the kids will have the obligatory first Mickey head ice cream bar ;) then we're heading to MK for a bit. Not sure what the kids will want to do first...maybe something in Fantasyland or Splash Mountain. We plan on eating dinner close to 6:30 at Ohana then back to the resort to rest after the long day of travelling. The kids are getting so excited, all they talk about is our upcoming trip! My DD8 loves to read all things Disney and she picked up the 2011 Passporter from Borders with the 40% going out of business sale, and she has been carrying it everywhere and reading all sorts of fun facts to us :cutie:

Thanks guys. I did end up buying 2 seats each way, an aisle and a window in the same row. There weren't any separated by the aisle next to each other either. I would assume that whoever is sitting in the middle seat (again, who buys that one?!) would move over one seat so that DH and I can sit next to each other w/ DD. Thank you all for your input!

After all of those shenanagan last night, DH and I played our Wonderful World of Disney Trivia game and watched the Incredibles and Phineas & Ferb so that helped lift my spirits again!

Oh good, I'm glad! I'm sure it will all work out...Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust pixiedust:
