September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

30 days :D:D:D

I'm getting so excited... even more so than usual because this is the first year that DD has been old enough to really get excited :D We just went through our pictures from our last trip :) I want to be there NOW lol

but I'm having a minor freak out.

I CAN'T find DD's lanyard and pins. It's not a huge deal because i've already ordered more pins and it won't kill me if I have to get another lanyard but still. It's around here somewhere. but where? You know what really burns my tush is that I know last year I put it somewhere thinking "I'm going to put it here so I know where it is come our next trip" but do you think I can remember the spot now? NO lol

I still need to get a stroller cover and I need some new SD cards for my cameras. I would like to get myself another shirt or two and I saw the CUTEST princess nightgowns at the disney store. http://www.disneystore.com/sleepwea...ghtgown-for-girls/mp/1289468/1000224+1000763/

how cute is that lol. but I shouldn't plan on buying anything until after we know what this storm is going to bring this weekend. Just in case :rolleyes1

What do all of you have left to do? I'm 12 days out and have a lot of shopping to do this weekend and next week. I have a whole list. I'm not a huge shopping person, so I'm torn on if I'm excited to go or not. I'm excited because it has to do with Disney, but its exhausting and costs too much money. :rotfl: I'm also hoping to get a later ADR for 'Ohanas, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. My binder is all organized, but I have to print off my itinerary to stick in there before we go. I'm shocked at how much information I feel like I'm going to need while we're there.

I have to train the girl covering for me while I'm gone - she knows the information, just not the program used for it so we have that to do - I'm thankful in that situation to have the 4 weeks still left to go... not though due to the excitement building up - not sure if its the excitement of going or the excitement of finally, after 8 LONG months , telling the 5 kids that they are heading to Disney World

WOW - I also just remembered that I have to work on DH's costume for MNSSHP - he has a hat for the Mad Hatter but what else would you do - too hot for a jacket... anyone have any ideas for me... we bough a scarf to tie around the base of it...

hmmm could you make a vest? You could get the colors and the look of the jacket but just made into a vest so it's not too hot?

that's all I've got lol

I have to get DS' costume and another pair of capris for me. I need to get earplanes for DS and some travel size bottles from Target (I just love theirs for some reason!) and hmmm just pack I guess! oh and order our UT tickets. :goodvibes

I like the vest idea. You could sew a vest (or fabric pieces cut to vest shape, maybe even add tails) to a t-shirt and then cut out the interior of the t-shirt to make it only one layer of fabric so it is cooler. Add a big bowtie.

great ideas - have to look at the local thrift store - LOVE the bow tie idea - forgot about that...

I still need to make halloween costumes for myself, dd-12 and my son. Been distracted by Irene though so won't get to that until next week.

Still 27 days and it feels lik FOREVER!! Is it too early to start packing:woohoo:

NEVER :cool1:- We've been packing since about 150 days out... :scared1: lol... just repacked for the 5th or 6th time a couple nights ago... helps you know what you still need to get :)

Todays countdown picture.... I think this one turned out pretty good.

Kind of a funny story....

This morning a co-worker (she used to work with me until she transferred depts.) walked by me and said she was getting old. I replied that I was gonna get older next week... her reply.....

"Then why aren't you at DISNEYLAND?"

I didn't bother to correct her, but told her that we were going later....

Wonder how she knew? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Ticker Check

All of our planning, packing and shopping has been put on hold until after this weekend....With this Hurricane coming we just need to concentrate on the things we need in the house first. I went out and got water today but everywhere I went was out of flashlights!! I am going to try Walmart tonight on our way to church ( they are having a movie and bonfire night for back to school)....Then tomorrow it's going to be "batten down the hatches"....I am hoping it's not going to be as bad as they said but I am still taking precautions....it's a HUGE storm

We did however go out last night and Cod-Man got new sneakers (http://www.amazon.com/Stride-Rite-L...1PIHZPO/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t/182-3302929-3976561) at the Stride Rite outlets and I got new sneakers at Foot Locker (http://www.saucony.com/store/SiteCo...uctId=4-105780&catId=cat1220398&searched=true) .... it took me forever to find a pair that I liked.

Hi all,
Sorry I've haven't been around since I pretty much booked our trip! Life has gotten in the way!!! The nerve! And it took me a while to get caught up on here!
I am down to single digits as of today!!!!! :cool1::banana: I am so excited! And I've been able to keep this a secret from my 3 year old! It's been so tough! She is turning 4 while we are there on the 8th so I booked the BBB and then that night we are having dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Never done that one but looking forward to it. I'm also hoping to get my son's 1st haircut at the barber shop. We'll see if we can fit it in.
I just wanted to say thanks to you all for the great ideas. I stole the idea of the autograph book but I don't have the machine so I had to do it all by hand!:scared1: It's not finished yet but I think it came out cute. I'll try to post a picture before we leave if I have time! Love all the pics everyone has posted. It made the time fly by seeing what everyone else was planning.
Here is our list of ADR's:
9-5 Hollywood and Vine @ 8:15 AM
9-8 BBB @ 8:30 AM and 1900 PF @ 4:55 PM
9-9 Akershus @ 8:05 AM
9-10 Ohana's @ 10:10 AM
These next few days are going to go by soooo slow!!!!!!

I have been thinking about all of you on the East coast and praying for safety. It has to be such a scary thing to prepare for. I hear its down to a Cat 2 and I'm hoping it keeps getting weaker and weaker. Please keep us in the loop as to how you're doing if you can! We'll be thinking of you.
