2 days left. Hopefully we will get there. I did check SW sight this am and they were re scheduling flights out of and into Norfolk but nothing else has been affected. So I'm guessing we are just gonig to fly inland around the storm. I really hope this is the case.

We downgrade our resort yesterday and dining paln to the QSDP. I cancled all my adr's except for T-rex and Tusker breakfest. Dh was kind of happy he prefers the QSDP anyway. The girls are fine about where we are staying so all is good.

TH breakfast and TRex are our two TS meals on Disney property too. I earned $50 towards TRex so that was a no brainer. We go to Rainforest Cafe around here every once in awhile so that isn't as much fun for them. We've never tried TRex, hope dd-2 isn't scared...

Thanks for the link to the door decoration thread. Got some great ideas and glad I know to use magnets to put it on the door (BLT has metal doors right?)

If your room is ready, you will be able to check in regardless of the time. That's a really neat perk for staying on property.

Well holy smokes you learn something new everyday I really did not know that lol

Send an email to the specialdiets@disneyworld.com. They will send you a form to fill out and return. On the form you list allergies food intolerances etc.... That way when you go to eat you mention to your server that you filled out the form. Usually a chef will come out and talk to you.
I have an allergy to milk, but also follow a vegan diet. I have had no trouble at resturants.
Even the quick service areas will work with you. Disney is awesome at working with special diets.

Please tell me that I'm not crazy (or that I totally am): my DD goes to sleep kind of roughly if we're in the same room as her. I had the idea to take 2 command hooks (the removable, leave-no-residue kind), some string, clothespins and a queen sized sheet from home and create a curtain wall between her pack 'n' play and our bed in our room. I don't need it to block out light or anything, just act as a screen so she doesn't see us.

Is this crazy? I can't imagine what mousekeeping will think when they walk in!

No not crazy. Mousekeepign will probably come in and think WTH? and then they'll look and see a pack n play and then they'll know exactly what that contraption is lol. I'm sure they've seen it all. They could probably write a book... "The Mousekeeping memoirs"

I am so thankful that I have the DIS! Y'all understand the obsession, the overplanning, the constant tweaking of ADRs and touring plans. I have to quit talking about it at home; the girls told me yesterday that they just want this trip to be over so I'll stop talking about it. Hopefully they'll understand, once we get to Florida. So, I will be very quietly refining plans, and DISing to get my fix.

Definitely agree with this. I'm starting to annoy everyone now lol. everytime I start talking about it to my MIL she says "Are you driving DH crazy" ugh FINE I'll just obsess quietly on my own... but you lot will thank me when we actually get some stuff DONE this time instead of wandering around for 4 hours going "what do ya wanna do" "gee I don't know what do you want to do" and then all we end up doing is "it's a small world" so YEAH remember who did all the leg work for this trip lol

Welcome back to POP! Maybe we will run into you. I'll have to log on to a regular computer to get a photo up. We always stay at POP to have the extra money for food, suvies, etc. I dream of staying elsewhere then price it out and it's just not worth it to us.

Quick question, I've already requested the section I want at our resort with a CM on the phone, but I just realized that we'll also need bed rails on one of the beds for my two youngest. Can we just request that at check-in or do you think that needs to be done ahead of time?

You should call and request them ahead of time, just to be sure.

What she said! If you wait until check-in, it could be several hours before they can rummage up rails and get them to your room.

Welcome back to POP! Maybe we will run into you. I'll have to log on to a regular computer to get a photo up. We always stay at POP to have the extra money for food, suvies, etc. I dream of staying elsewhere then price it out and it's just not worth it to us.

We are staying in a preferred room that is all they had yesterday am. She told me to call back in the afternoon to see if there was a standard room. I didn't bother but when I check online there all of sudden was standard. But even staying in a preferred room saved us almost 600.00. I was so excited they even still had pop left for FD it didn't really matter.

This will be our 3rd staright stay at pop. But our first time in a preferred room. I prefer the backside facing the lake. But dh said if we didnt like the location when we get there maybe we could ask for a non-preferred room even though we paid for preferred. My girls are excited for the extras we are doing this year. I really don't care where we are as long as I get there.

Right now it looks ok for Saturday Morning it is Sunday and Monday here that will effect flights if it does. I'm still a little freaked out flying around a hurricane.

I'd call, I have called them a few times to add stuff to our rooms....that's what they are there for right??....lol. We are getting bed rails in both of our rooms incase Cod-Man wants to stay in his grandparents room one night and ours the next...I'd rather him have the choice to do what he wants.


We went to Walmart this morning just incase we end up with extras at our house this weekend during the Hurricane, we are over 100 miles from the shore but we have a lot of friends that live very close to the beach who we have told that they can come here...most are making arrangements now so we will most likely have a housefull this weekend, which is fine with me....the more the merrier and it will make the time go fast...I am making my finals lists for what we need to get and Cod-Man and I are heading out tonight for sneakers and a few other things.

I agree with you. We love POP and the extra money we save gets used on a dinner show or a table service, or more Disney pins, towels, etc. It also means the difference between staying one week or two.

we've never stayed at Pop before - really looking forward to it (and the tye dye cheesecake ) we're doing this trip sans car this time so hopefully it all works out well - I've heard taxis aren't cheap from there...

You are so right about the cabs. I think it's about $25 each way. We budget it for it...just in case. So, if we don't go there's extra money for Mickey!!!

Just when I thought I was done with ADRs but brother decides hes definitley coming Now we booked in January and hes been on the fence since then, but luckily I made the majority of our ADRs including him figuring if we were 1 less it wouldnt be as much of a problem as if we needed 1 more. I had to lose my Boma ressie which I am really upset over but Id rather know we have the correct number of people on the ADR than be turned away. I will keep trying but we are going to eat at San Angel Inn now instead. Boo!

On the plus side only 29 days We're slowly getting there!

FYI newbies, they don't sell gum, so that may be something to add to your packing list if you're a chewer.
