I saw that you said you are going to the Great Smokey Mountains in July...my girls and I are going with my BFF and her 2 kids to Gatlinburg Tennessee 7/2-7/9. Where and when are you going....wouldn't it be funny if we bumped into another DISer and NOT be in Disney . Have a fun summer.

This year has gone by fast and the next 4 months will zip by. Te next thing you know, it'll be Sept15th and we'll be flying down! We will be there at Pop till 9/31 so we can enjoy MNSSHP and all the parks at a more leisurely pace!

Booked 9/3-9/9 with my mom. Staying at the All Star Movies. Ever since I turned 21 me and my mom have been taking a trip every year, just the two of us girls. This will be the 3rd year going to Disney. We are looking forward to it and with the quick service dining being free, it feels so wonderful to not have to pull out the wallet every 30 minutes for food.


I hope this year it won't be that busy again. Last year it was crazy how we walked onto literally every ride. I don't think we waited more than 10-15 minutes a ride. I don't know if that was a fluke but hopefully not.

SOOOOO Excited! Going in September for 9 nights and 10 days. DH, DD, DS, my parents and my 20yr old brother all going. 2nd time for me and DH, DS, DD but first for my folks and brother. Nervous about fitting in everything that everyone wants to do, but, soooo excited for them to be with us. Hope its as fun as 2008 trip. LOVE reading the disboards.

So how does everyone count down for their trips?

While I love to see my ticker I like to have some sort of "physical" count down with my kids. We make a paper chain and have one linke for each day. Then we tear one off each day. As the chain gets shorter, we get more and more excited and the kids seem to understand the concept of time better that way. This time though, I am going to have them each make their own chain because there was serious arguments on who gets to rip off which link. I would end up tearing 2 links off every 2 days so each child got to rip one off but then they would argue over who got to rip up the different colors

We like to vacation in September and it seemed like the year was just dragging since our last trip last September. but now it seems that it's going so fast because we're so busy! We'll be down to Pop for the last 2 weeks of Sept. like last year to enjoy MNSSHP, etc..

I don't think I have posted on this thread yet...
We are going 9/25-10/2, staying CR MK View! First trip for the family. I have been to the parks a couple of days throughout my life, but never for a whole week and never stayed onsite. Super excited!!!

We have not told our girls yet -- don't want to hear for the WHOLE summer, "when are we going? when are we going?" over and over again. We will tell them sometime in August. Let them help get ready for the trip a bit but not for too long.

We are doing MNSSHP on the 28th and my Aunt & Uncle are coming down from NC to join us for the first 1/2 of the week. I really don't know how I am going to get through the next few months!!!
