September 2010 Check-In

I have another question. Since this will be "off season", will there be less characters walking around? When we went last may, we were able to meet mickey and minnie, pluto, goofy, aladdin and jasmine. Do the characters come out less this time of year? Does Mickey do meets in his house?

We're gonna do Pixie Hollow and PFF for sure, and more than likely we'll book a breakfast at either Goofy's or Minnie's, haven't decided yet. So, no matter what we'll get some character pics. I also intend to ask a CM each morning. I'm just curious if the time of year we're going (13-17, all weekdays) will have any impact on our chances to see characters in the more "candid" way? Or do they come out the same amount year round?

When we went last year, we met Mickey, Minnie, Donald,Goofy, Pluto, Woody, Jessie, and a couple others I can't remember. I've never been during the "busy time" so I can't compare, but those were enough for us. We did PFF and PH and met those girls as well.

Eta: we met Chip & Dale, eeyore, pooh, tigger, and Aladdin and jasmine too.

We always go in the off season and we always see a lot of characters! :)

Ugh, you can remove us from the list of september visitors. We've changed our dates AGAIN.

Wooo! A September thread! :D

We're going September 8-10!!!

 Gotta love check in threads!! Gettin' ya added in a minute.

Boo! Are you going in October instead? Gotta be an even better time to go to see all the Halloween decorations. I'm hoping that the weekend I'm there is the start of that season.

My family and I are going to Disneyland Sept. 12th-17th. We are staying at the Best Western Stovall's Inn. Can't wait!!

 Welcome to the madness!

I specifically planned to go BEFORE all the Halloween decor... I miss the regular Haunted Mansion :(

Are you planning on being able to ride HM while you are there? Because HM usually shuts down directly after Labor Day weekend for the overlay, so I'm pretty sure it will be closed for your dates. The only reason is was open until the 9th last year was because of a special event they did on 9-9-09.

Uh oh. :headache:

Thanks for the heads up

No problem. I'd hate for you to find out when you get there, although they'll announce the refurb/overlay schedule long before September rolls around but the more time you can either figure out plans and all the better. But who knows, maybe it'll be different this year, but I doubt it.

I just always remember because my birthday is September 10 and the reason I never went for my actual birthday until last year was because HM always closes then.

Thanks to the lousy economy and State budget here in the Golden State, L.A. County school teachers are now on furlough the first full week in September. So for those of you (like me) that planned on visiting DL during a week when everyone was back in school in SoCal....no dice. School doesn't start now until 9/13.

We went in September of 2008 (all weekdays) and saw LOTS of characters. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Chip, Dale...plus more characters and princesses at the meals.

My mom and I will be there right between our birthdays (which are 9/10 & 10/10).:bday:

We will be there on 9/25-9/30 and staying at the Tropicana Inn. First time off property and a little nervous about it! :scared1:

We're budget kind of people so we always stay offsite at Disneyland (but on-site at WDW.) As long as you don't expect the offsite places to be like the onsite places, you'll be fine. It's so close to the parks that even if the hotel isn't Disney, you're right by the park anyway. For us, just stepping outside our room, we already feel like we've started the Disneyland experience.

Our dates overlap a bit. :)

 Bumping this back up! Life has been so hectic I've barely had a chance to get on the DIS it seems.

So did everyone hear the big Halloween time news? It will be starting earlier this year - September 17th!!

All I wanted this year was a Halloween trip and it looks like I'm going to get it!!

It's been over three years since our last visit (we were there about a month before Nemo opened) and decided it's about time to get back. We will be visiting 9/12 to 9/19 and will be staying at the GCH.

The DW and I are entered in a weight-loss competition at my work and are in first and second place right now. When we win in a few more weeks, we'll walk away with $3,500 and decided to buy AP's again for our family (us and our three daughters) and go all out on our return trip to DL. We'll be staying in a theme park view room with concierge.

We can't wait, it's been a long drought without any DL and we're very anxious to get back!

Wow! That is awesome! I'm jealous!

If you don't mind me asking, how much weight have you lost?

My wife and I will be at Disneyland for the marathon. 3 months away and i need to get in shape
