September 2010 Check-In

Staying at the DLH from 9/6-9/11. Among my party will be my brother's fiancee (sorry, don't know the abbreviation for that one!). Her first time ever west of the Mississippi!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this Not Back To School thing is not too enormous. I was kinda hoping for small crowds that week after Labor Day.

:cool2:

Please add me to the list of Sept. visits. I will be travelling from Oregon with my DD & family which includes her DH, DS15, DS7, DS6, DD4 on Sept 18th AM and returning Sept 24th PM. We are staying at the RI Maingate. I am really excited about this trip and want to thank all the DIS members for all the great tips they post.

I believe we've got at least one poster who has attended before who may be able to shed some light on the crowds. I can't remember if it was also held on the week following Labor Day last year, but that is when I was there (8-12) and the Expo was also going on and the crowds during the day were perfect in my opinion, but they did get busier during the evenings/nights.

:thumbsup2 Cool beans, I like how the OP is lookin'!!!!

:cool1: So, so, so glad you like it!!

Dh and I will be there from the 13th to the 17th, at HoJo. Even though we're going about two months after he gets home, this is going to be our "made it through our first deployment" celebration.

Getting you added as well! Wishing your DH a safe return home!

Overall the NBTSD Rally/Conference won't really impact the crowds. We went last year and it was nice and quiet after D23 was over.

Quick question. Is there a place i can see what the typical schedule for things like parades and the fireworks is like in september? or does anyone here know what it's like? we're worrying that none of that will be going on while we are there because it's "off season" and all weekdays. we love the fireworks sooo much.

Can you add me to the list? September 27th - October 1st, Anaheim Plaza. Thanks!

Sorry, but can you change my name in the first post? I just changed my user name the other day. So instead of PeytonSdiz, I'm AmyPond now. Same dates and info though. :)

Thanks. And sorry to be a pain.

I was there last September during the week after Labor Day and saved the entertainment times guide. It's definitely off-season. Full entertainment on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Mid-week the parade in DL ran at 7:00 pm instead of the afternoon (park closed at 8:00). The parade in DCA only ran on Tuesday that week, and it was at 5:15 (park closed at 6:00). I guess the
evening parades are intended to be a substitute for the evening entertainment.

I imagine all of this will get turned upside down with WoC. Who knows what that will do to the entertainment! Still, if the fireworks are super important to you I'd suggest making sure your visit covers a weekend.

Our trip is already all booked. :( We're going from Monday the 13th to Friday the 17th. So, all weekdays. And we can't stay all day friday because we have a 7 hour drive home. I'm just hoping that of the three big night shows, at least one will show one of the nights. The fireworks i was actually hoping to be able to watch one night from our hotel room, because we got the disney view at HoJo. Other than that, we've already seen them so it's not too important. I do really want to see world of color tho, and dh has never seen fantasmic though i have. i hope we get to see one of them. if not, it won't like, ruin our trip or anything, it will just a bit of a damper.

Yeah, it's still unclear how WOC is going to effect everything past the summer. It's an annoying wait & see game that we're all forced to play. But in the past, September is back to the off-season, weekend-only big entertainment.

;) For everyone who's posted I'm going to get you all updated tomorrow morning when I get home from work while I wind down after my graveyard shift!

I hate that DLR doesn't put the schedule out very far in advance. WDW is so much better about it. They get it out months in advance.

Right now at disneyland.com you can only get park hours through July 3rd. At disneyworld.com you can get park hours through November 29th!

We've officially decided - Sept 25-Oct 1. We'll probably stay at the del Sol Inn again, but haven't booked just yet. It's our anniversary (9 years!) plus the start of Halloween time!

DD has been counting down to the next trip since the drive home yesterday.

This September will be our first family trip to WDW....we are all getting excited.

We are staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins for our 1st Trip. We have 2 girls - 7 (at time of trip, 6 now DOB 08/02) and a 4 yr old. Trying to figure what would be a "MUST DO" since I have not been in 22 yrs. Looking for advice, all is welcome.

Just a heads up, this is the Disneyland (California) section of the disboards. You'll want to head over to the WDW section for advice about Disneyworld in Florida.

Go here - http://www.disboards.com/index.php

And the very first forum section says "Disney Trip Planning Forums." Each of those is about Disneyworld in Florida.

Here is what the schedule looked like last September. Would probably be somewhat indicative of this year, although there are certainly no guarantees!
