September 2, 2012 - Magic - NYC to Canada

Welcome aboard to all the new people joining this cruise!!! :woohoo:

gehringdg I see we are doing the same 2 cruises. Look forward to meeting you and your family in Sept!!

What do you think our chances of free upgrades will be on this cruise? I have a feeling this cruise is not going to sell out.

I was wondering this too. But I'm mostly hoping for a price drop since this was almost as much as my 7 day on the Fantasy this May! My Travel agent told us it's not very full at the moment.

For all you experienced cruisers: In case that there is a real price drop after the date that we paid in full - can we still change the booking and don't loose any of our money which we already paid ? Or can we only change the booking as long as we did not pay in full ?
Normally the price reduction would be even as we are getting closer to the sailing date, or ?

Thanks for any information!

Disney typically releases price drops after the PIF date has come and gone. So...you would be stuck canceling, suffering a penalty, and rebooking. You would have to weigh the penalty against cruise fare savings to see if you would come out ahead.

On the off-chance they release discounts before the PIF date, then you should have no problem getting the price drop.

Just wanted say Happy Easter to our fellow cruisers!!!! Hope you all have a great day! :goodvibes

Hi. We just booked thiscruise last night. I'm so excited. This will be our first Disney cruise and it sounds amazing. My daughter loves the princesses so she will be thrilled to meet them.

Bronxgirl, I'm a Bronx girl, too! :cheer2: And we've booked this cruise.

We should chat! Welcome to the Dis! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Actually, I have a question- how are you getting to the cruise terminal? We'll probably take a car service, but haven't decided yet.

Welcome aboard guys!!! Glad to have you along. Can't wait to get this cruise under way and meet everyone one!:woohoo:

Has anyone have there plans set for the ports a call?? We are still leaning towards the hop on hop off tours.

We are just over the Bronx line in Pelham Manor! My wife if originally from Throgs Neck, so she is a Bronx girl also!

Small World!

Yeah, we'll either have someone drop us off (depending on work schedules) or just cab it from the BX. They do have long term parking at the cruise terminal, for like $35 a day, but we're close enough that a cab won't be too much. Just gotta time it right to avoid the rush hour and we should be able to get down there in about 20 minutes or so.

So excited - my kids don't even know yet because then that will be all that I hear about!

Let me find out that the BX will be rolling deep on this cruise!. LOL! :cool2:

No doubt that it's a small world. I live in Throgs Neck and I'm in Pelham Manor all of the time - Fairway, BJ's, Five Guys, Five Below.

Since your wife is from Throgs Neck, I'll wager you guys have probably been to Tosca or Marina de Rey at least once, right? :thumbsup2

Ya were are thinking of the Peggy's cove tour as well. We see when it get closer to booking.

I live just a couple blocks from BJ's shopping area.

My wife grew up on Throgs Neck Expwy near the tolls... near Harding Av. Been to Marina Del Rey many times. Tosca - not so much. But the inlaws are still down there, so we do Spotos, Green Dragon, Patricia's and Hawaii Sea all the time!

Parking at the Port in Manhattan is $30 per NIGHT. FYI

That's actually not a bad rate for Manhattan, although we can still save a little money with a car service. I was hoping my friends could drop us off, but they will probably all be out of town since it's Labor Day weekend.

Hi everyone! I'm Nicole(30) and live within walking distance to the port in Manhattan. :cool1:

This will be my first cruise with my veteran parents (grumpy-gramps is my father, also on the boards). We'll be traveling with my little sister and my niece, my older brother, his Canadian wife (from Halifax!) and their baby who is due at the end of May.

I can't wait to meet everyone. Let me know if you need any NYC info/advice/recommendations!
