September 2, 2012 - Magic - NYC to Canada

I so hate to do this:sad2:

We won't be sailing with you to Canada.:sad2:

DH was real honest and said that he really didnt want to be cold... anywhere!
So we booked a B2B on the Fantasy. Today he asked were we doing an Eastern or Western first. Holy Cow... I didn't know... I was more engrossed in getting a cabin that we coud have for 2 weeks:rotfl:

You all have a great cruise enjoy Canada and each other:grouphug:

Sorry to hear this. But since I've changed from one cruise date to another once or twice, I know how you're feeling.

When I looked at the average temps for Halifax, etc, at that time of year I thought they were about perfect, but then I don't come from Arizona.

When I was stationed at 29 Palms, CA the temps reached over 125. I went to visit my uncle in San Diego and the temp was only 85. I was so chilled I borrowed a sweater from him.

Hope you find a nice warm replacement cruise!

Looks like we are joining in :-)

We, that will be DW-Tanja, myself-Thorsten, DS-Tobias, then 15 and DS-Tom, then 11.

It will be our second cruise with DCL and we booked it on our first Dream cruise last September.

We are from Germany and will be staying in NYC for the week before the cruise.

Can't wait to see the Magic for the first time!

I haven't posted much on here yet since this cruise still seemed so far away - but I guess now I'm finally ready to get excited about it! :goodvibes

We booked our flights and NYC hotel yesterday, and all of a sudden it seems like the cruise is right around the corner. I can't wait to see DCL excursions for the Canadian ports posted (should be soon, I hope). Until then, I shall busy myself with planning our days in New York City ...

I don't quite remember, but have we agreed on a DIS meet yet? Would be great to meet you all!

My DH (Damien) and I (Benita) have just booked this cruise. This will be our first Disney Cruise. We are super excited and can't wait to meet everyone.

Howdy folks, I am willing to coordinate a fish extender (FE) list for this cruise (I am pretty sure one has not started for this cruise as of yet).

For those that don't know, all disney ships have an ornamental fish outside the room. The fish is used if someone needs to leave a note for someone in the room. What folks do is buy or make a holder with pockets that they will hang from the fish - we call this the fish extender. Folks participating in this FE will know the rooms of all the other participants (from what is posted here) and they will buy or make a small gift to leave in each FE sometime during the cruise. So its sort of like a secret santa thing. Some get a gift for the room, others personalize stuff for each person in the room or tailor it to the ages of the folks in the room. My experience on FEs have always been great. Folks often make or purchase a Disney inspired gift or will share something about where they are from or where the cruise is going. Its always a treat to see stuff in your FE when you come to your room. Its another way of DIS folks interacting and making the cruise special. So I will start the list:

Latest FE list (please let me know if I have any of the information wrong):
SILMARG - DH/DW/DD13/DD10 - 6120

Count us in too! Gus & Chasity (both 36 at cruise time).

Giving us bump here...

Hope all is well with everyone. Sue and I thinking about booking a med cruise. Anyone here ever been on one before?

Thanks silmarg taking on the fe list!! Not sure if we will go in yet but I will be sure to give you plenty of notice if we decide to.
Really looking forward to this cruise!! Can't wait to meet you all at our cruise meet!! :goodvibes

We will not be joining you after all. I have a business trip to take at the same time. Have a great cruise!

I am joining this roll call trepidatiously ... We booked this cruise a few weeks ago but I wanted to make sure we would really take it before saying hello! We are notorious for cruise switching, rental car switching etc ... I guess we are indecisive - or are always looking for a better deal or something.

I am going to say Hi anyway and pray that we take this cruise. I really want to see the Magic and I really want to cruise without having to fly so ...

I am Jenn, I will be cruising with hubby and our two kids who are 12 and 3. I can't believe I have 16 pages of conversation to catch up on so that I can "get to know you all"

:)

From the Eastern Canadian thread ,there was a helpful post about tides. I looked up the tides for the days we we might be there (just in case we get our itinerary rearranged):

Now that the DCL port excursions for Halifax and Saint John are up, is any of you doing one or some of them? Anything you can particularly recommend, possibly?

I know that on another thread someone highly recommended the Tidal Bore Rafting and it sounds really tempting, but being first-time visitors we are looking at spending our precious few hours in port sightseeing rather than doing sports.
