Thanks Leslye - we will keep that in mind. We joined a couple of the wine clubs while we were there, so that means we have to go back more often to take advantage of the free tastings. There are a few Disboarders we would like to stop in and say hi to in the Napa area.

Ken

Believe it or not, I've never been to Napa. Been to Monterey and Temecula. Monterey was fun, but so far between all the wineries.

Only eight more posts for me to get to 2000 :thumbsup2 :cool1:

hmmm, considering they spent $25K I think they well paid for it but I could be wrong. It does sound like a great bonus though.

What is an owner cruise?

and thanks all for your comments and feedback on the DVC

at first thought, it sounds expensive with the lowest option on value season being 251 pts, that does equate to appx $25K if it is $100/point. but then you think this is over the course of what some 45 yrs so I guess it keeps on giving.

Another question, do the points required go up over time so that you have to buy more points?

I think we were looking at $5,500k for a 7day cruise ... if you take 250 points over 45 years thats over 11k points. If we were to spend an avg of 400 pts for a family of 5 (is that normal?) then it seems to work out to 27-28 vacations you could take over that period.

whew...that's alot of disney, now that explains why most of you have gone over the deep end

The number of points needed for various offerings and accommodation may go up or they may go down. At the various resorts they are leveled, so if a stay during the value season goes down, an stay during an other season would have to go up. For other offerings such as WDW resorts, adventure collection, cruise line,... etc these are separate contracts between the vendor and DVC, and they are renewed on an annual basis, and yes some of those have gone up, esp DCL.

The points I quoted were per person, for the first and second passengers, then there are kids points or adult points for the other members of your party.

So far all cruises, special ones included have been made available for DVC points exchange. All of our cruises have been on points, i.e. PC and this cruise and the Med crossing.

Sorry, I've been on the phone with a friend from Texas and since she called me I didn't think it was polite to cut the conversation short! Yeah right! :rotfl2: Anyway, the gift basket I'm talking about is free to anyone who bought their timeshare from Tom and his crew at The Timeshare Store. It's a, from all accounts, lovely basket that his wife put together for Timeshare customers. Steve and I will pick ours up in Sept as we bought thru them in Sept of 04.

Thanks, :thumbsup2 I tried my best since we've only been members for a year and this trip will be the first time we've used our points. We're not doing the cruise part on points, but we are doing WDW and the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge.

Did anyone ever figure out what gift basket Mommaluvdis was talking about? It's supposed to have something to do with DVC, but I have no idea what or how you go about getting it.

Gotta go golfing in just a little bit so I won't see 2000 until later and have a nice race everyone :happytv:
