Actually, he refuses to speak to me! Can you believe that? I think he's mad because I still talk to his ex (they have a child together, my precious nephew Skyler). I guess he thought everyone was going to gang up on her or something but their business isn't mine. I just want to see my nephew whenI'm home and live my happy life. He'll get over himself. He's just young and mad, two bad combinations!

I guess the breakup was a bad one for him??? Maybe that is part of his anxiety!

BTW, my husband always tells me that when he retires he wants to travel around in an RV and see everything. Yesterday I was catching up on the posts and was reading about all your traveling. I told him I have a new plan - instead of the RV, we will try and get a job truckin' so we can make some money while we see the Nation!!

We just have a 55" Sony that my husband just had to have!! I am still trying to find something to put it in - I need to be able to hide it sometimes....and I just know that it will go out in about 2 years - only about 10,000 hours available I think

Okay, I am going to be very busy tomorrow tampering with my electric meter outside - hey, I like the idea of getting about 3 months of electricity for free!! Okay, Captain, how'd ya do it? Just turned on the ol' charm, right???

... not trying to be a Mr.Know it all... as I'm only all knowing with google at my finger-tips...

But your Sony is most likely a 3 LCD projection TV with (a little known Seiko-Epson designed and made) 3 LCD panel projection engine. This is the same as MY HDTV... and as such - did you know you Sony has 3 brightness settings? Here is the clip and link to my "semi-secret source"...

How to Get the Most out of Your Lamp
To extend the lamp life of your rear projection television one recommended action is to change the default color setting (and contrast) you are using to watch TV. Most rear projection televisions are delivered with their color setting on the brightest picture setting, which can reduce the estimated lamp life to less than half. The manufactures set it to the highest contrast and brightness settings because it looks best on the showroom floor of your local electronics store.

Most rear projection televisions come with three presets. For example, the Sony's LCD rear projection TVs has three presets Vivid, Standard and Pro. Vivid is the preset the KDS-R60XBR1 is set to when first taking it out of the box. The "Vivid" setting will lessen the life of the lamp to approximately 3600 hours because it is the brightest setting. The "Standard" setting will extend to about 5300 hours of lamp life and "Pro" will further extend the lamp life to around 8000 hours.

Now... my Epson bulb is rated from 8000-10,000 hours. I am thinking - why shouldn't yours' last just as long? AND I have noted that the Sony 3 gun DLP HDTVs are BRIGHT SOGs!

So... if I were you - if your HDTV is in a properly located in the home - that is - if it is in a relatively dark part of the house (as opposed to a brightly lit area) then you SHOULD be able to tolerate the medium brightness setting - if not the long life setting.

Yes, i do have to say that the picture is great!! Especially in HD - what channels they offer in HD...I will have to check the settings. I really didn't know about the brightness settings. I like it to be dark in the room, so all the blinds are closed when it is on, so probably won't be a problem. We got an extended warranty on ours and actually they have already been out to replace the bulb before the first year was even out!! So, we should get a lot longer use out of it now. Cross fingers

Set the set to the long life position and SEE if it's OK. If so then enjoy 2.5x the LIFE and a little savings. Assuming - your extended warrenty is out of coverage - otherwise - time it so you'll probably get another bulb BEFORE the warrenty expires.

Aside from that - drat - it's gonna be tough getting to the next 100th milestone without a thicker crowd. As I am reluctant to sneak up 20 or 30 posts all by myself!

I agree on the generation differences being a bit different today then in OUR past. TOday you hear of 40 something people still at home with their parents.

They ought to have a core sequence in HS or college about become=ing SELF-sufficient and accountable to one self. Of course - I lived at home until I was 44... NOT!

And before anyone turns a nose cuz they might have or know someone close who is livin' at home after college... I do have good friends who ARE NOW living at home - and they are in their 40s like me... and I value their friendship - AND I encourage them politely about the sort of game plan they might have (big picture stuff)... so - my circle of close relationships includes some like this.

And oh yeah... my kids are 2 and 5 - but I would also love ta have some grand kids ... already! I love kids!!!!

ok I got your stuff but I had a lil accident on the way back...

my daughter and I got a lil thirsty while we walked through Target (we went to target to look for those Disney Mix sticks - not sure they are worth it, only 128MB for $50 - sounds like an iPod would be a better value) so any way we drank the 2 pints of OJ.

Then we got hungry and had the muffins (and blueberry is my fav!), of course we needed some milk to wash those down with.

Next, my daughter then proceeded to knock over a water cooler so we used the wheat bread to sop up the mess

Now I only have the Margarita mix, keg and grass skirt...hey sounds like we're ready for the cruise after all so I'm keepng 'em
